2024 - 2025 Dallas Mavericks Season Thread - This time we're not happy to just be here.

Still think this team has had 2 great runs because Kidd has the players rallying around him—and that’s to his credit. But you just cannot return an NBA finals roster and have stretches like this. It’s inexcusable.

They have some new pieces to work in, but if this continues my patience will have run very thin.

If he wasn’t so fragile, once Ky is back having Luka come off the bench might send the right message.

What is the introduction of Dallas Mavs starting lineup theme song from 2011?  I heard it just now on ABC telecast of Florida vs. LSU.  Evidently there are some lyrics to this piece.  I might have heard "putting in the work"....

thx

You could see early season struggles coming from a mile away. And that wasn't even factoring in injuries.

When this team puts it all together it's going to be fun.

I don't think many would agree with you that they saw "struggles coming from a mile a way". We're also still not in a play-in spot, so this trend needs to keep going.

Lolz at concerns with record in fucking NOVEMBER…

I, for one, saw a rough start coming with the roster adjustments and Luka’s approach to offseason. Didn’t think it would be quite so dire, but we were very much IN all of those losses.

We’ll figure it out, it’s just frustrating in the meanwhile, but so is life as a Mavs fan.

I literally said it on this thread on October 28th. And you liked it.

Everything's gonna be ok.

I liked it because I agreed the Kidd was gonna do kid shit, not because I was okay with the team starting 5-7 and losing to the worst team in the conference. How about this--next time the Mavs have a sub .500 streak, I'll ask for your permission if it's okay to be frustrated or not. Sound good?

I generally really enjoy Jokic, but considering his style of play complaining about that in the last seconds of a game is pretty absurd.

Love the dude. Like, really love him, but his style is ass. I get the MVPs, but if you try to call him "the best player in the world" you're a fucking idiot. There's a mile between the "best player" and the hardest to defend, as these NBA refs work.

Bully ball is trash but it works. Just ask Lebron.

He's more than just bully ball, he's the facilitator the entire offense runs through.

That was part of my "hardest to defend" point. Most of his overhead passes are ugly as shit too. Doesn't make them bad. But they're coming out of bully shit. If the easy bucket is there he's taking it (75% of the time). If not he's probably going to the line. Otherwise, open 3 (hopefully Russ).
