The Mavs have a million problems, but Kidd isn't one of them.  He has far exceeded my expectations.

Yea, I'm not Kidd's biggest fan but what is he supposed to do here? Something like 4 of his best 5 players were all out with injury. The Kings should have stomped that team by 20 points last night, but the Mavs played hard and could have won the game.

And he didn't even show for the press conference last night (just like bitch ass Nico refuses to face the local media).  Not sure what that was about.   Players are having to take the full brunt of this implosion which isn't fair to them, but yeah, I want Nico and Adelson to wallow in failure.  Guess this is how Washington fans felt about Dan Snyder.

Credit to the players that are healthy for appearing to give playoff level effort but that isn't sustainable.

Once again, what is Kidd supposed to do with 4 out of his best 5 players missing? Effort is all they can do right now and they are doing that. The Mavs do not have a big man they can play right now which is ironic considering how they constructed the roster post Luka trade.

I still cannot get over this whole saga.

Mavs in 2012: We're not going to bring back a roster that just won a championship.

Mavis in 2025: We don't want the international superstar that just carried us to a WCF and NBA Finals appearance.

What a cursed franchise. Cannot enjoy nice things.

At least in 2012 the thesis was plausible if not flawed.  Ownership/front office thought we caught lightning in a bottle, couldn't repeat, and needed dry powder for the 'big free agents' (which of course, never materialized).  So it was a big mistake but at least you could see the argument.   In this case, not only did they trade a beloved international superstar entering his prime that got you to the finals last year, but they got a terrible return and then shit all over him for literally no reason on the way out. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it in sports.  And I wish nothing but the worst for those 2 assholes.  I don't see myself ever rooting for this team again unless both are gone or at least Nico is gone and Adelson does a massive mea culpa for ruining the franchise.

I think Nico will be out by the summer after this team misses the playoffs. Who would have guessed that Mark Cuban was the voice of reason in the room between him and Nico? I wouldn't hold your breath on a mea culpa from the Adelsons. They care about the casino and that's it. I'm very interested to see how poor the attendance is going to be next season. That is the only thing that might get any attention from these people.

I bet season ticket sales fall off a cliff.  I'll be interested to hear from season ticket holder friends what they do about pricing.   If they were smart they offer up a decrease as a 'loyalty' gesture but my bet is on another material increase given how tone deaf they have shown to be about everything else the last 2 weeks.

6 months ago I had never heard of the Dallas Mavericks. Now I am so depressed they lost in the finals.

This.   Talk about a quote from someone that has been handed 100% of the "success" he's ever had in life but has convinced himself he deserves it.  Fuck that guy.

Someone needs to ask him what Brian Cardinals # and nickname was so you know if he’s a real one or not

That only goes back 15 years. Ask them how Toni Braxton is relevant to the team.

Don't know how they pulled that out last night, but these dudes are still playing very hard. If they can pull out one more miracle win tonight, vibes in the locker room would be pretty damn good going into the break.

Kyrie was amazing...

"Obviously, [Lakers general manager] Rob Pelinka even said it in his press conference introducing Luka, that it was a gift. And I think that's how a lot of my colleagues — don't want to speak for them — but how we all kind of felt.”

I was watching Luka last night and had our game on another scren.  As much as I hate the front office and want them to fail, I can't help but admire and be proud of how hard the team has been playing.  Nico and Dumont don't deserve them.

No AD. No lively. No PJ. No gafford. No Dwight. No Kyrie.  No Caleb Martin. And we come out with the win. We've got ourselves quite the plucky group.

Maybe OMP doesn't suck as bad as we were led to belive?

He's got a little something,  Him, Lively, and Christie give a glimpse of hope for the post Kai/AD Mavs. If they stick around.

God this team is so scrappy. Hard to not cheer for them even after being gutted by Judas Nico and the owners.

And they're just to good, even missing half the roster, to lose games and tank.

I wonder if Kyrie has really matured enough to lead these guys and if the rest of the team can gut through being "hurt".  sometimes you gotta play through some pain.

The saddest one yet:

Dwight Powell is going to end up being the 2nd longest Tenured Mav in history.  He just can't be taken away.
