You can take away points for stepping out of bounds when the refs didn't see it? Ridiculous.

that is interesting.  I wonder if the Mavs had to request it?

so say a guy steps out the play continues and the team scores.  can you take that away?

Dwight Powell has been robbing the Mavs of an NBA check for a decade. Dude is a complete liability on both ends of the court.

Dwights been awesome this game. Those offensive rebounds we're giving up and lobs are dinwiddie's and Christie's fault.

Anthony Davis is a walking "lingering issue".

Interestingly AD has played in more games over the last three seasons or something than Luka.

That game was lost when* Exum got destroyed. He was great tonight in a limited role. Irving was awesome. PJ was awful. We just couldn’t shoot worth a shit all night except during that little flurry. I’ve never seen a team miss so many layups.

*also the game was lost when we traded fucking Luka.

We have different definitions of awesome

He had some good moments. Then he had some Dwight Powell moments like when his slight frame was no match for LeBron crashing the O glass.

I still hate this all so much and lately I’ve had morons here in LA telling me how they couldn’t believe how upset Maav fans were about the trade. Luka is pretty good but not what we made him out to be, I really wanted to punch someone that night

sure the 76 games last year was a career high.  Luka averages a pretty consistent 66 or so games a year until this year. until last year Davis was averaging about 50 a year with the Lakers.  his nickname is Street Clothes for a reason.  that said, Luka probably won't ever play 75 games in a year.

agree Exum could have made a difference but he could have gone cold like the rest of them too.  Klay showed up.  unfortunately it seems like it happens only once in 4 or 5 games.

AD certainly will make a big difference in the lineup if he can stay healthy.

It was clear after Luka started hot that it became double team Luka so he doesn't embarrass Nico.  Kyrie and Klay tried to overcome but the obvious goal was to not let Luka go for 40+ so he hurt them in other ways. Reaves and LeBron won the game though.

Yea even Candace Parker said that.

I do know that if Kyrie implodes this team is done, with or without AD.
That's pretty much what happened in the Finals. While Luka could have been better, Kyrie wasn't good. All the supporting cast that did so well leading up to the Finals just disappeared.

We would’ve beaten them with just one of our (non-Dwight) big men available or with slightly better shooting. With AD, I don’t think it’s a close one.

Watching Luka made me miss him, but I was firmly pulling for the Mavs. I will never not do that. Only apathy can set in like with the Cowboys. Watching Luka’s antics made me not miss him.

I'm always pulling for the Mavs and I will always hate the Lakers. I can want Nico to get fired though.  At the end of the day.  A very very small part of this is Luka's fault. He could have been more rigorous in his training, worked on his D more but the main issue is the front office and has been since Cuban was around too.  Hopefully Davis can be healthy, Kyrie can remain stable, Klay is more consistent(we need him to step up).

Nico had not made one wrong move before this trade. I loved him. I’ve been a Mavs fan long before Luka and I won’t stop now. I do think there is a lot more to the story that we do not know, and suspect Luka is a lot more culpable than we know. And Nico is a punching bag. I’m withholding too much commentary here and probably will for another 2 years.

If they had more than the worthless nuggets they've been feeding the media then they would use it to save face. The stuff they're trying now is laughable.

No they wouldn’t. It is in fact a terrible PR job, but I’m not sure what they can say. They can’t trash Luka to the media. That serves zero purpose for a multitude of reasons. If speaking just opens you up for more scrutiny, keep your mouth shut.

The return for the trade was abysmally low.  Like worse than anything Jerry has ever done.  That’s the issue as we all know. Nothing Nico says will have any good impact.

I'm honestly not sure what you're dumbest about. I'd argue with you but you do it out of every hole.

So your contention is if they had real beef with Luka, they’d be smart to actually release that information, angering Luka and hurting their attractiveness to future players?  That’s a ridiculous strategy.

Of course, they’re leaking info like that out now, and that’s why I said it was a terrible PR job. They need to shut the fuck up.

Yeah I get that. I’m just saying, I thought he was masterful at remaking the roster and getting Luka a lot of help. That’s what makes the return for the trade all the more mystifying.

This is what is unforgivable. This was not a one piece from a championship move like the Rangers have tried and failed on more than one occasion. If you trade away your future you need to add solid pieces to win now and picks to get you over the top in the near term. This trade did neither
