I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bama wiggle their way into the game.

Yeah I'd be pretty fucking surprised if that happened but I understand win/loss records and statistics.

After playing around with the SEC championship calculator, it seems that if we win out then we don't care about any teams other than Georgia and LSU!

Every team can win out except for [Georgia or LSU].  We need one or the other to lose a game.

No other teams matter! Even if Tennessee wins out, we're still in, because that'll mean Georgia lost a game.

Calculator:

The scenario above has us in the SEC game when LSU gets beat by Alabama (or any other teams).

Remaining games for LSU & Georgia:

Assuming that thing is programmed right the only scenario where we get fucked in winning out is if LSU & Georgia both win out as well.

If Tennessee & LSU win out we jump to the #1 seed which is shocking

So basically we have two games we should be rooting for...

1) Alabama over LSU (eliminates all 3 way tiebreaker scenarios)
2) Tennessee over Georgia (see above screenshot)

Win out + Tennessee over Georgia

This would be delicious.  Dear eight-pound, six-ounce, newborn infant Jesus, who doesn’t even know a word yet—little infant, so cuddly but still omnipotent.......

It would definitely go down as one of the coolest CFB events of all time however the number of upsets required to pull that off would be insane.  Vandy winning in Baton Rouge might end the internet lol.

The 2 bye weeks we had were huge and conveniently placed. Just gotta close it now

Yeah. Most of the bitching about Texas's schedule is dumb. Went up to Michigan, got OU, Georgia, Florida. Not Texas's fault 3/4 are trash. But the bye week placement is a gift.

Extra game to get a bye

It's a weird calculus but I think you'd rather keep everything rolling for another week to get 20 days off vs. 20 days off then play a game that you may or may not win then play 10 days later.

Loser of the CCG seems like the real loser, though. It will all have to be adjusted imo sooner rather than later.

You are playing presumably one of the best teams in the country in the SEC champ game and will possibly have a very physical matchup that could lead to injuries. And then you may have to play the same team just a few weeks later.

If you play the same team a few weeks later then that team will have played an extra game than you across the course of the entire season. In your scenario that's a huge advantage.

I wouldn't worry about it if I was you. Just go neg more of my posts from 5 days ago in unrelated threads like you were doing earlier today.

I didnt neg a single one of your posts. I think you have me confused with someone else.

SEC Title game is December 7th

First playoff is December 20th

Don't really make a shit. Two weeks off is plenty I think.

Not accurate. First round is home the 20th or 21st. Champs will get 7th of Dec to Dec 31st or Jan 1st off (depending on which Quater final game) They also don't have to play a top team risking injuries 2 weeks prior. So, that's 3.5 weeks or nearly a month. If you don't see that as a massive advantage I dunno what to tell you.

Is it? Maybe for injuries. I think taking too much time off can be a problem.

Two weeks is good. Enough time to rest up and get ready and not so much time you get rusty and out of game shape.

This is a terrible take and you should be ashamed.

You keep over looking playing the game in between they have to play, and if you think Sark or any conference champ team coach is just gonna cut the players loose for 3 weeks.. well.. okay then.

We'll see. This is just the same old debate about if it is better to rest players at the end of the regular season or keep them sharp in the NFL. Yet many wild card teams overcome the well rested divisional champs.

How many games did we have this year during which zero starters were injured? Which games?

Yep, we'll either see TN or AL, assuming both win out which is very likely
Hey, which do we match up better against?  TN or AL??

Even if you like their chances, Tenn is going to be a dog next week at Georgia???

Gotta assume the dawgs will be on a mission but that won't mean much if their QB keeps throwing picks at the worst time possible
