I do think you can say that.  his hand was likely on the plate under the guard.

TheOscar didn’t even have to throw it hard to the plate. Stanton was so incredibly slow. Stanton was tagged out 4 feet in front the plate.

I blame the third base coach. He hesitated, which caused the runner to slow. He rounds the bag with the run sign he beats the throw.
