hit and run

Recommended Posts

find their address and start sending them cryptic notes with things like "i know that you hit my car" but the letters are cut out of magazines like a ransom note. Do this everyday for at least a year and I bet their mental health will be in the dumps.

thanks for the insights.  does anybody know if the sites that you can pay to run the plates actually give the owners info.  looks like a kid driving a decent car.  probably a call to the parents would settle it.   If you any of you dicks drive a red genesis g70, i'm coming for you.

and I know its not surprising but the police give zero shits.  They do not feel the outrage.

It's pretty minor for the police, not necessarily worth their effort. My understanding is filing the report is more for documentation for your insurance and a civil suit.

I thought the Dillo Pad rage was over a trailer parked in front of his house, not a car.

A flooring contractor, who was "upset about his station in life", and was blocking Dildo's view of the shitbox tract house (in college fucking station no less), across the street from his shitbox tract house.

Don't freak out when the cops decline to write them a ticket for not having insurance. I found out secondhand that most departments, or at least the ones in DFW, don't do that anymore.

That seems strange.  Not that I care that much about the ticket itself, but there are or used to be some collateral consequences to failure to maintain responsibility that would lead to DL suspension.

Or maybe you mean on a hit and run, where it is only assumed they don't have insurance or proof thereof.  That's understandable.

The name of the offense is “accident involving damage >$200” an offense under the transportation code, which is basically not leaving the statutorily required information after hitting a parked car, with damage over $200, which is a class B misdemeanor.

It’s an offense that the Austin Police Department, if they weren’t so busy quiet quitting, should look into and issue a warrant for the arrest of the operator of the motor vehicle. But they’re too busy complaining.

if there is no insurance you can submit report to DPS and the operators DL will be suspended until they pay (assuming you or your insurance company sues within two years from date of collision) in addition to making a claim on you own uninsured motorist coverage.

if you’ll remind me Monday I’ll run the plate on my office computer and get you all the info.

Solid info.  I will zip you a message with the plate.

Thanks

I'll see if I can get them to share the bodycam footage but they were hit by an uninsured driver and the police officer declined to write the other driver a ticket saying "the damage to the vehicle is more than the fine".

Some fuck stick hit my car and bailed while I was in target . I walked up and saw note on the windshield , some teen saw it and got the license plate . Called cops took a report and the info , months went by didn’t expect anything . Finally got call from detective they found the person and they admitted it . Asked if I wanted to press charges , I said yep . Probably would have let it go had they done the right thing but fuck them.

Opposite for me in Georgia some years ago. My dad took my kid to McDonald's in my car. A truck with a trailer hitch backed into it and an employee got the license plate number. The detective said they couldn't prove who the driver was and the owner wouldn't admit to it.

Yeah I’m not sure if the fact the person admitted it made the difference .

But I felt great they did and I got to stick it to them
