It's called Sark realizes unlike a lot of you dolts that the team today had a lot bigger problems than QE.

True but he knows Quinn's mentality is tissue soft right now. If Quinn serves up two picks that leads to 14 points against Arkansas, we're losing. We're right back to slow start Quinn from last season. Yes, OL isn't as great and is making mistakes. Quinn also is seeing ghosts and just a little bit of pressure makes him fold. All the rest of our opponents are going to send the fleet again Quinn every drive because they know they can rattle him with pressure. At least Wisner and Moore were good today. I stand by earlier position, I'm ready for the Quinn era to be over. If he can win us games then great but he's going to cost us 1-2 if he doesn't figure shit out.

You can't redirect today as an indictment on the OL. Quinn didn't force them to throw balls at an angle where they were tipped up for easy picks. That's on him and Sark not driving that out of him.

So, we beat a top 25 team on the road, they scored a junk time touchdown to make the score look more respectable, and that suddenly makes us a bad team? This Vanderbilt team beat Alabama just a few weeks ago.

It’s more of how we stepped on our dicks.  Up 21-7 it came down to an onside kick recovery.

I quickly rewatched to reassess the play of the OL predominantly on negative plays

Can Williams with a very stupid late shove to the face mask for a PF
First holding on Banks was BS. I truly don’t see what the ref could’ve seen to call it. He just fell forward and pushed his man.
First sack was Blue not picking up blitz up the middle on slide protection. Commentator weirdly blamed it on Conner but Blue just had to stay where he was to pick up the blitzer but he slid to the right. I think he didn’t know half slide right was called.
Second sack was a bit the pocket collapsing and a bit Quinn not getting it out quick. I’ll score that mostly to the OL.
3rd blitz was an rpo that Quinn pulled to throw but should’ve handed off. Can’t really blame the OL giving up a sack when they’re run blocking

Niblack with an obvious hold on 3rd and 1. Stupid and unnecessary
Next play Williams gets badly whipped on a spin move to give up a sack. Williams played very poorly overall.
Terrible call holding call against Helm where he basically pancaked his man. Another one where I have no idea what the ref was seeing

Overall the pass pro wasn’t abysmal but it wasn’t great. Mostly it was an offense wide problem of miscommunication, skill players not doing holding up their end of the bargain, some questionable choices by Quinn and some baffling calls by the refs.

Didn’t pay attention as much to the run game on this skim, but once they started squeezing down well on our power and pin and pull we lost effectiveness in the 4th and our inside zone continues to be mostly ineffective especially running behind Conner.

I think (hope) the team gets up to play against Arky and A&M. Sark has to understand these games are more meaningful than any others. Hopefully we're healthy, Bond, Gibson will be back.  Take both teams to the woodshed. Sark's conservative shit needs to go out of the window and just lay it on them.

His goal is to make the CFP. That's why winning these games is important. The opponent is of secondary concern. That's the new reality of college football.

Um, Helm's "Holding" call has been called multiple times this year.   Phantom calls are not accidents.

I believe Helm is targeted by opposing coaches with the refs pre game as is Banks.  you can't just say watch holding.  you have to tell the ref exactly what to look for from a player.

Sark needs to get all over the refs on this shit and PI.  I hate that you have to do it every damn game but it is part of the job now.  Vandy never held once?  Even when their little QB starts dancing and then jumps outside?  No one grabbed at all?  Bullshit.

meanwhile we/OL are pulverizing people on straight outside runs and what do you know "holding".

The second tipped pick was far worse than the first in terms of fault IMO. Even good QBs get occasional tipped passes from the pocket from time to time. There was no good excuse for the second one into an incoming pass rusher coming in hot like that.

We’ve become a dunk and dunk offense. No big play ability.

Its hard to score when it takes you fifteen plays every drive to do it.

Out offensive strategy is hope the defense sucks at tackling and our receivers can house the pass within 5 yards of the LOS

This isn’t an isolated thing with him.

It's because we can't run with any consistency. Fix that and we'll break some big plays through the air.

This was a debacle. We should have destroyed Vandy. Sark is protecting Quinn with timid playcalling. The cat's out of the bag on Quinn. Get used to tipped passes. He likes to throw 3/4 sidearm. Too many times we saw him throw sideways passes to a back or receiver who was practically in the arms of the defender. His luck will run out big time.

Get ready for at least two games where the offensive output equals what we did in the second half tonight, while the D wears down and gets mauled. There's no way they can keep up with a good running QB who can pass. The D may have some success, but with a lethargic offense, they'll finally give way under the constant pressure.

This patchwork offense may manage 28 points against a strong D, but we'll lose by 2TDs min to a good team. Could be far worse. How does 49-28 thrashing gonna feel for the Early Season #1 team in the country?

Sark needs to turn on the turbo charger, and if that means benching QE, then the sooner the better.

You won’t get consistent runs because defenses don’t have to worry about deep shots period.

I said that and then looked it up. Wisner and Blue combined for 126.

Not horrible.

Those two INTs really screwed up the feel of this game.

Shut up pussy. The issues all came because Quinn is a fucking pussy

I overhead a couple a guys in line at the grocery store talking about persistent inflation and rising costs, they both blamed it on Ewers.  The grocery bag a lady was carrying in the next check out aisle ripped and her groceries scattered everywhere - she shouted out “thanks a lot Quinn.  Everyone just nodded.”  A ten year old kid just said “fucking bastard.”

The run game was good today. Yeah our backs are small but they run hard. Shifty and can house it any time.  The problem is it’s not consistent. 2nd and 2 ends with 3rd and 1 to 4th and 4

It was cool seeing Pavia face after getting tackled. The face of “ these guys are big and fast holy shit “. That was the best thing besides the w. Much like ok freshman qb. Our defense can run. Hopefully they get healthier and play with more confidence cause I think they can win a few for us if needed.

yes we are, apprently.  someone is going to have to make a statement on this and PI or this shit will keep on happening.

my opinion is after we made the shittty high school SEC refs look like morons last game they were looking to make a point.  fuck them and fuck this conference.

That was my thinking.   The Head Ref was a good ol’ Southern boy with that Goober accent.   I think there are a few that did not take kindly to Texas and OU joining the conference to begin with.  Then the UGA thing last week and this late flag bullshit is now going to become the norm.   I don’t think I’ve seen so many flags fly for holding after the whistle blew or the play was 10 or so yards down field from the line of scrimmage as today.

He has to be conservative because he can’t trust Ewers to throw down the field….   He's doing everything he can to build his confidence but it ain’t working.  He hesitates like that vs Arky and A&M they might lose.  Hes not seeing open guys, he’s holding it too long, he’s not very often close to accurate when he throws downfield, he just plain looked lost and afraid when they showed him before the snap a couple times.  The offense is totally off when he’s like this, obviously.  What’s the answer, sports psychiatrist or hypnotist for Ewers, pull him for Arch?  No clue but something has to change if this keeps up or it will be a very disappointing season with the talent on offense and how the defense is playing.

That's my fear about going to an abysmal Fayetnam. They're terrible, but so is Quinn. The noise that crowd will make will crush Ewers. Like, the same way he looked against UGA. As for aggy, I'm not too worried. We just need all of our weapons firing on all cylinders to make plays happen. We have the defense to hold them to nothing, but our offense is just...so bad. I don't have an answer, either. Put in Arch? Try and calm Ewers down (don't see that happening), or just run the ball and screens all game. He can't throw down the field or he'll get picked. Wingo needs to step up his game, but using him on reverses needs to happen more.

Yeah. I don't have a lot more to say on the offensive issues that hasn't already been expressed in some way.

The defense played a really strong game today. What Vanderbilt got, they earned. The defense is a nationally elite unit that will keep Texas in every game and will likely win a couple more outright like it did this one. Wish it didn't have to, but the fact that it can is pretty cool.

Yep…. This game reminded me of a  game a few years ago in Stillwater reffed by Kevin Mars crew where we were racked up 100 yards plus in penalty yards and I think they had zero.   You can’t tell me a team like Okie State that throws the ball like they do is not going to get called for a hold at least once due to that pocket breaking down.  The same in this game, but it’s not  because Vandy throwing the ball 30 times a game.  It’s the fact our defense, man for man has more speed and naturally run offenses which lack speed are going compensate with trying to hold on to whatever they can upfront so they won’t get beat.

My worry is boneheaded mistakes like unnecessary roughing the passer to erase a pick six. That's just undisciplined and stupid.
