TTM includes their October earnings. Looks like record revenue, operating income and net income to me. But if those metrics start to fall, the execs don't max out their bonuses so I guess its best to close a few plants and fire some people. Guess you cant price gouge forever.

I was thinking they were actually down on revenue last quarter.  Flat, but missed expectations.  There has been a lot of chatter about their sales lagging in recent months.

Food and beverage company PepsiCo (NASDAQ:PEP) missed Wall Street's revenue expectations in Q3 CY2024, with sales flat year on year at $23.32 billion.

That proves my point. They are still plenty profitable. In fact 22% more profitable than they were 3 years ago. But because wall street made up a number that they needed to hit in order for the C Suite to get paid fully, they decide to layoff people. They know they cant continue to price gouge.

I dont pretend to know the intricacies of Pepsi's business, but its a decision that reeks of bullshit, and is typical of how most of corporate america is run today. Profits over the well being of its own  employees.

Keep in mind Pepsico is Gatorade, Tropicana,  Quaker Oats, Frito Lay, in addition to Pepsi Bottling.  The plant in question is Pepsi, and CSD( Carbonated Soft Drinks) are eroding share of the drink market, bigtime.  Dig into the Earnings statement for 2023, I'm not gonna explain everything here, but CSDs are not as profitable as one might think.

A quaker Plant was also shut down this year.  Not sure why that is "mean ole pepsico," when it's just business at work.

Those numbers you posted don't have anything to do with what a shitshow 2024 has been, relative to prior years.

Tropicana was actually spun off and is back to it's own company now.

I had read some pretty bad things about the Chicago location not being up to specs recently on the Chicago Reddit. Can’t speak to other locations. I remember when I was coming out of school around 2011 Pepsi was a HUGE employer for all the supply chain guys in McCombs along with a couple O&G spots.
