Maybe it's just me, but I think telling an angry cop to, "Pull the gun out." is a dangerous thing.  Don't do that.

And adding a certain slur with a hard r at the end of that might just be even dumber.

a friend of mine is tried this case. Damages portion was last week. No matter how egregious the behavior - there is very little chance for a verdict/award/settlement that will truly compensate the wronged party or deter the morons.

brisket’s desire to have them pay damages out of pensions is fantastic. But a pipe dream. I’d settle for requiring these licensed professionals to have a professional liability type insurance policy with huge limits.

If you are clean and no complaints - premiums are reasonable. If you aren’t premiums will be so high you are priced out of the profession. In either event - there is a chance at appropriate compensation for people “made an example of.”

That's sensible. Like doctors, have them carry a policy. Given the large number of law enforcement, risk should be reasonably spread and not expensive. Bad actors may not be able to afford to continue to practice due to the expensive premium increase.

SEC really is the white trash conference.

Can't spell incest without "SEC".

I never wanted us to join and still don't.

Meanwhile, we'll get to watch BYU or UH or Okie Lite or Tech or Baylor or K-State (or maybe even two of those six) easily slide into the CFP every single fucking year from now on, now that it has expanded.

Big 12 will get one this year. It will be rare they get two.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say it wasn’t the conference’s fault but some guys named Mack Brown, Charlie Strong, and Tom Herman.

as for the treatment of the racist Georgia fan, I thought the cops came in hot but maybe he deserved it

If you don’t want the cops to do something illegal to you, don’t be a drunk ahole in public.  Might still get beat by a cop, but the likelihood is less.

Sheriff T.K. Waters and members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Professional Standards Division will release information related to incidents from Saturday’s Georgia-Florida game. The information being released will include body-worn camera footage, relevant context and facts for each situation, and the status of the administrative reviews. The videos and other evidence will be posted on JSO social media channels at 5 p.m. today.

In 30 minutes well get to see the rest of the story. Maybe.

On one hand - pretty disgusting conduct by some of those officers.

On the other hand - if you willingly visit Jacksonville, Florida for any reason I'm not going to be terribly sympathetic towards whatever may transpire.

from the article:

The Georgia-Florida game is notorious for its rowdiness, and Waters said the crowd at the weekend was particularly fiery. “This was a different game,” Waters said. “They’re not always like this. We had a horse punched in the face.”
