Well good for you. But you still voted for a felon and a rapist for President. So maybe stop the lecturing for us to try and understand your side. Saying it was the economy and voting for someone that is willing to crash the US economy and impose massive tariffs tells me you do not give a rats ass about the economy. You are just using that as an excuse becuase you like the things that he rants about. Good luck in your life.

I care about taking care of my family first and foremost. I've got a special needs child, things can be tight. The 2016-2020 years were pretty good to our family. Low inflation, home value went up as we were looking to sell, cheap gas and food, increased tax credits for the kids, and wound up with an extra bonus at work the year the tax revision went into place.

The last 4 years haven't been so great. I think of others, but they come second after family. I think a lot of people in similar situations were looking for the reset button yesterday. I don't care about his rants, I tend not to pay attention to them, they're a waste of time. Good luck to you as well.

And you think one troll on Surly, of all places, speaks for half the country? Seriously, get offline, talk to some regular people.

Eh, Reuters is better, but you could be doing worse. PBS is left leaning, but not extreme.

Dude what do you not understand? Seriously are you dense? You don’t get to separate yourself from the people you support. Again tell me about all the good Germans and Nazis.
Do you not understand that PBS new hour is not all of pbs? Are you going to take issue with AP, BBC, and NPR next?

Do you see how comparing the other party to a dictatorship from the 40s that tried to ally with Hitler to conquer the world...takes away any credibility you have?

I forgot when Trump started putting liberals in gas chambers.

These extreme comparisons are ridiculous. They're not even close. That didn't stop Kamala from using such tactics. How did that desperation work out?

You contorting a mussolini comparison into gas chambers is ridiculous and you know it.

Fascism isn’t a particular simple definition, it’s more like checking a bunch of boxes. Trump checks essentially every box if you care to look into it. It’s not like one goes from model citizen to fascist leader over night. Mother fucker, it’s a process.

Haven’t you seen the reports about Musk and Trump having conversations with Putin in the last couple years?

All indications, based on Trumps dumb fucking rhetoric and the pressure he applied to his allies like Mike Johnson, are that Trump is going to concede American support for Ukraine if they don’t stop fighting for their lost territory.

Ukraine is attempting to defeat the closest thing the world has seen to Nazi Germany. Russia is arguably on the brink and desperately wants this cease fire. Putin has said he wants a ceasefire and based on their overall lack of battlefield success and internal economic conditions, there’s reason to believe him.

Russian forces have been pushing harder than ever the past month, at an unsustainable casualty pace (a new monthly high score!), confident they’ll get their ceasefire and be able to lock in these territorial gains. They will regroup and try again in a few years.

A ceasefire in the next few months is a gift to Russia. Trump will attempt to force Ukraine to agree to it. I hope they spit in his face.

I think the Mussolini comparison is apt.

You have a special needs child, and you voted for Trump?

Also, not going to lie, economically, things are going to get worse. And when it does, you have to own that. Own that you brought it onto yourself.

I did, because as I mentioned taking care of said special needs child was easier during those four years. Reckless government spending tied with record inflation the last four years doesn't make that easier.

It's your opinion things are going to get worse economically. From a pocketbook standpoint it would be hard for it to be much worse than the last four years.

If it turns out like you say, Trump isn't being re-elected, and the Democrats will be in office once again. My money is on an easier four years though, and you'll have to own that you've been blowing this election result out of proportion.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but nothing will happen to reckless government spending. And I don't know how old you are, but from an economic standpoint, I assure you it can get much, much worse. Hell, the 70s made this round of inflation seem like a picnic.

Well, they helped develop the US rocket and missile technology after 1945.

Lots of insults, not a lot of substance. That's a good indicator when someone doesn't have a leg to stand on. Explain how half the country are a bunch of evil nazis because they checked a box on a piece of paper. Did they happen to invade Poland on the way to their voting precinct?

If you're not getting your news from PBS news hour, what PBS program are you pulling your information from? Sesame Street? I'm not sure I would admit to using NPR.

I stand on the non fascist leg. You do not.

Here’s the easy way for you to understand it. Donald Trump is openly fascist. Millions of Americans voted for him. Millions of Americans are fascist, either through ignorance or support. Neither of those excuses is acceptable.

If you keep going through life refusing to listen to the other side, or you see yourself as better than them, you'll never understand why this election was lost.

The election was lost because a bunch of assholes voted and thier voted counts just as much as mine and we are a country full of assholes. Having it rubbed in my face doesn't make it suck less

I haven't really been getting into it with Trump voters, on here or in reality. Election's over so there's not really a ton of good that comes from beating that dead horse. The world ultimately keeps spinning.

But I have to say, in one breath praising the Trump tax cuts, a structural increase of the US Government deficit that served primarily as a wealth redistribution mechanism to funnel money to the top, and in the next decrying reckless government spending is just hysterical. I mean, lol come on man. Your team won. No one is disputing that. The libs are owned. Why be a bad faith troll?

I haven't been trolling. Our family did better during those four years than the last four. I've already listed the reasons above. If I'm honest, we did better those four years than the years under Obama too. $3-4 gas, our medical premiums and deductibles skyrocketed after Obamacare went in. My sister couldn't afford insurance at the time, so she got hit with the fee for not having insurance (The "Shared Responsibility Payment"). Talk about a hit in the nuts for someone already struggling, we helped give her money for her and her husband to pay the fee. While her husband later got a different job that provided insurance, Trump eventually was able to remove that Shared Responsibility Payment which would have been helpful if my brother-in-law was unable to find other work. I'm not trying to own anyone, I'm just bringing the facts and why I went the route I did. If it's any consolation I would have voted for Tulsi in 2020 if she won the primary. She was fairly level headed and middle of the road, and then Hillary threw her under the bus with Russia bullshit.

If you honest to God can't see the very obvious disconnect in what I pointed out in your posts then that about says it all.

COVID was happening regardless who was in office. You could have had FDR, Lincoln, or Kennedy in office, the people that died were still going to die. That's how global pandemics work, they tend to transcend politics. Viruses don't care who you vote for. Again, more died by September of 2021 under Biden than under Trump in 2020, despite Biden having the jab at the start of his term. This argument goes nowhere.

The people that died on Jan6 died of heart attacks and an overdose, other than Babbitt who was shot by police. Do you care about those "insurrectionists" that died?

What about BLM? They did millions in property damage over the riots. I was told property is meaningless.

God, you are so very dumb.

Please, hindsight being 20/20 and all, what more could Trump have done to save lives above the lockdowns, the masking mandates, pushing for the jab to get approved, etc? What more did other leaders do that he did not? Compare the steps Trump's administration took to what Biden did, which was the same strategy. Are you saying Biden did a better job? Lets look at the deaths again.

Yep.  Calls Biden administration a “cabal of warmongers” and rails on the “woke” deep state, among a number of other things.  She sounds very much like your run of the mill MAGA.  What she may have been is not what she is now.  But you believe what you want to believe.
