It was mentioned in another thread how Trump supporters posting in the CR often go silent when confronted with facts that go against them. This is another example.

Kinda odd (and out of character) for turnip not to have posted at all on social media since urging people to vote on Tuesday

He’s done campaigning for the rest of his life now. Maybe that has something to do with it?

It's the honeymoon phase. Let people talk and unity and giving you a chance before you, you know, open your mouth.

You should try reality sometime, leave your echo chamber and see it's not that bad.

I live in reality. I treat all God’s children daily. I’m going to be fine. Most of the country won’t be.

Oh my fucking god. Anyone with a special needs child that willingly voted for a fascist should be charged with child endangerment.

Your kid will be among the first on their kill lists man. What the fuck is wrong with you?

I don't think you do. If you're a doctor you're more insulated from the struggles of the last four years to make ends meet, that's why you're going to be fine. For those less fortunate it's been a rough four years. It's a big reason this was a landslide in the other direction. At the very least if inflation is low or remains constant the next four years than we can expect prices won't be climbing as quickly as they were. That would be a welcome result for many.

Expecting that half the country won't be fine is a bunch of doom and gloom and unrealistic. We've been through this once before, some of us were even better off during those years. We'll get through the next four years too.

Well, it won't be called a kill list. It'll be that it's too expensive to cover your child, so your private healthcare will drop you and you'll have to fend for yourself. And when some major health incident comes up, either pony up or kiss em goodbye.

Self employed insurance for a family of 4 runs about $3k a month. We are already there.

And when regulations are rolled back and allow insurance companies to discriminate against preexisting conditions, that's going to result in.... things being cheaper and more available?

I'm not kidding. You should try reading what a lot of the intellectual figures on the right think about the disabled community.

Does the average American really consume this many eggs or is this the standard R double down on JD Vance’s weird press hit in that grocery store with his kids?  I don’t understand how eggs became such a focal point. Gas, housing, totally makes sense. Eggs?

I honestly would not believe people too much they have been conditioned to troll at this point, I do think inflation was code word for poverty and the dems fell for that god damn stupid trick, they needed to do handouts not drop an Consumer index number.

Wanting to return to normal destroyed our chance to make real change even if that change came through mass ramming executive orders. Not that it matters almost all of the old school democrats have a foot in the grave.

How many times have cloak roomers used “Hot Wheels” to mock Governor Abbott?  Spare us your pearl clutching.

Yes because a President mocking a disabled reporter in public and some anonymous person on a college football message board offending your delicate sensibilities about a Governor are totally the same. Glad to see your false equivalencies are in full effect.
Keep being you! You’re gonna win the internet, I can feel it!

Those people are hypocrites.  I am happy to point it at.

jesus fucking christ

All the sanctuary cities were absolutely fine with the borders when it was staying in Texas. It was racist to suggest otherwise.

Greg Abbott decided to start bussing and flying them to New York and Chicago. All of a sudden the narrative started to shift and once the 5 star hotels filled up while New Yorkers are homeless, well NOW it is a problem.

He was bold and brought the problem to their doorsteps, and it changed a lot of votes Tuesday.

Man, I initially was hitting this thread hard and fast. But my hope quickly died (I could say like our America or freedoms, world leader, etc but I’m so down in the dumps, I can’t) when it looked like I was in some echo chamber that gave me that positive feedback loop that I wanted us to be better.
I see that I was so fucking wrong. So fucking wrong. I’m not trying to be some hysterical, out of my mind idiot but I am really concerned for our future. Because the fear of the unknown has been driving my thoughts and the uncertainty of what is exactly going to happen over the next two years, let alone the four, is scaring the shit out of me.
I honestly hope I have to eat crow in 2026 and none of this comes to fruition but as I have had to learn, when people show you who they are, believe them. And there’s some horrible shit already that should be believed.
Like I said, I hope in a couple of years anyone on this board can point and laugh at me for assuming the worst but it’s hard for me to not be worried as fuck for the future, not only for us, but our kids, our daughters, our wives, our sons, and for our country.
I hope everyone that voted for him gets exactly what they asked for. Maybe it will be an era of enlightenment or maybe not. Who knows?

I will support my president when he’s sworn in and of course hope that we all succeed and life is better for every American and the world. I’m not advocating for him to fail because that means we all fail. And if he fails, America fails. I don’t want to say don’t be a sore loser but maybe, hopefully he proves me wrong.

This is what a ton of us said in 2016 and then we saw what happened. He will not prove you wrong.

I’m trying to be positive about this and we probably know what’s going to happen but I feel like I would be letting my fellow Americans down by being pissy and angry. I’ll admit I’m in a weird place right now because I am so gobsmacked that this happened.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt in 2017. Stupidity is knowingly repeating the same mistakes.

His math might be off based on the AP. Ended up being 24% of black men, so up a bit from 2020.

Quote

Trump’s share of Black voters rose slightly, driven largely by younger men

Trump was able to make slight inroads with Black voters nationally, who made up about 1 in 10 voters across the country.

Nationally, about 8 in 10 Black voters supported Harris. But, that was down from about 9 in 10 in the last presidential election who went for Biden.

Trump about doubled his share of young Black men – which helped him among key Democratic voting group. About 3 in 10 Black men under the age of 45 went for Trump, roughly double the number he got in 2020.

I know there are still a lot of votes to count, so it's not really fair to compare 2020 to 2024 vote totals quite yet, but there was a steep decline in overall turnout. That's really surprising considering the total number of eligible voters should rise every year as population increases. Really makes you wonder how 10 million+ people would sit out an election after seemingly voting against the same guy 4 years ago.
