Do you honestly believe this?

The mass majority of Americans don’t.

Dude’s gonna be in for a rude awakening when he finds out prices ain’t going back to 2021

Imagine his shock when they don’t even get to 80% of today’s levels.

Folks like me are gonna reap the benefits of the new administrations tax cuts. We can easily survive the high prices and our lifestyle isn’t changing one bit. Our portfolios vastly outpace inflation.

That dude on the other hand is going to be in a world of hurt.

I have never minded paying taxes to help those that are most vulnerable and in need. I guess that dudes on his own now, good luck.

Steven Rattner, who served as counselor to the Treasury secretary in the Obama administration, issued a scathing op-ed Tuesday saying Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, passed in March, was the "original sin" that contributed materially to today’s inflation, which hit the highest annual rate since November 1990, according to the Labor Department.

There were signs, the wealthy and large businesses easily absorbed the rapid inflation, while the other 80% of the population and small businesses could not.

The initial stimulus checks were signed by Trump.
PPP, part of the Cares Act of 2020, was a huge redistribution of cash.

Both parties were all in on the greatest causes of inflation. The Biden administration carried the fault at this election.

Good luck, on to football.

Sack. I came back to find Sack posting all over the place.

Great

I mean, if you didn't already know that was an inevitability of Tuesday results...

I suspect Sack's self-diagnosed non-addictive personality has at least 3 weeks worth of pent up anger to neglect his family and spam his bullshit from dusk to dawn

Could have sworn I saw somewhere Sack acting all high and mighty about putting his cell phone away as soon as he gets home everyday. I don't know guys, I think Johnny Sack might be a liar.

One passed 100%. One was split on party lines and Obamas economic advisor disagrees.

This is us as well. Our taxes aren’t changing.

As far as that guy goes- what did he order? Steaks? Oh no, steak doubled. Our grocery bill has stayed the same $225 - $275 for years. The food we have bought might change some, but the line item in our budget is the same. People voted to punch themselves in the face and for women to be further pushed into second class citizens because they can’t shop.

The people who need the grocery value cards the most, won’t take the two seconds to grab one for free at the customer service station. Same with fast food, ordering from the apps will save you plenty.

This is dumb and naive, inflation is a direct cause of people having more money because of COVID subsidies, businesses immediately adapting to rising demand by raising prices. This continued after subsidies were cut and this is when things bit, where Biden drowned us for good. That Biden did not go to war for renewed subsidies and instead went "ahh shucks gee wiz republicans blocked me so I am going to be above it all", is the abosolute #1 reason dems lost the presidency.

An infrastructure bill does create a trickle down effect, but if you hypothetically give a trillion dollar handout then that exact trillion goes into groceries, spending et al, and prices rise.

I'd been considering putting something like this together to see the final turnout since I'd been keeping track of early voting until last weekend. This pretty much tells the story about how abysmal the turnout really was in Dallas, Tarrant, Harris, Bexar, El Paso, and South Texas.

This same account put one together for Oklahoma, where the same apathy is reflected in the larger cities, but I haven't seen anything for the rest of the country. Once all the numbers are in nationally, I'll put something similar together for the nation or post if I see anything like this.

The dude in the video is not making an apples to apples comparison.  In the first receipt you can see he is a Walmart+ member and has selected free store pick up.  In the second receipt you can see he is now asking for items to be shipped to his house.   Prices for items are frequent different when  you shop for “in store pick up” with membership, versus delivery (with fee), versus shipping to your home via UPS/Fedex (the most expensive option).  I know this cause Walmart often tried to fuck me when I buy items for my college kids and have to change from pick up to shipping and watch prices skyrocket.  I have also seen items  at Costco and Sams nearly double with shipping versus in store.  Who knows what else he is manipulating with his “22 items” since we can’t see what is in his cart and he is obviously not trying to make an honest comparison

Inflation is obviously real, but people are also forgetting what things were like when eggs were $1.  For example, several months before COVID I remember getting a flyer from Kroger about their new “shopper program”.  For $20-$25 per order extra fee,  you could use their app to order your groceries then park outside and they will put it in your car.  My wife had been bitching about how time consuming it was to shop for food and we discuss whether this was a good solution.  Seemed like no one was willing to pay for that service cause it poorly utilized. Then COVID hit, and that $25 service was now “free”.  But it wasn’t and still isn’t free, and the shopper service never went away.  Those shoppers running around the store cost $$ and it  is just being tacted on to food prices whether you use the service or not.  That is a part of why you can’t get eggs for $1 anymore.

Long story short: extreme anxiety, trepidation, and anticipation during election week led to multiple ridiculous thread derails. One was how inflation hasn't hit Chili's as hard as other "fast food" and listing everyone's favorite menu item from the last time the went there a decade ago ensued. Dragging your wife/family on Wednesday to a victory Chili's dinner became the Surly celebration consensus. Then it got way less funny.

Fuck chilis I'm never eating there again.

He didn’t link to his source but the one link in his c&p was to Fox Business so that may have been his source which, unsurprisingly, would’ve been slanted and biased.

I’m still waiting for someone to explain to me how Biden’s 2021 stimulus caused inflation but Trump’s 2020 stimulus wasn’t a factor. (Or how Trump’s $28 Billion giveaway to farmers to offset the cost of his tariffs wasn’t socialism but that’s beside the point…sort of.)
