Lagway isn’t good right now. Not even sure I’d call him a playmaker yet. On top of that, his mobility is severely limited if he plays this week.

If Napier is smart, he punts Lagway this week to give him time to heal and maybe win one of the more doable tough games on the rest of their schedule.

Are LSU and Ole Miss "doable" because they're at home?

FSU looks like the only gimme left for the Gatas.  5-7

He would have presented problems for Texas.. not saying insurmountable ones, but him being out is a big plus. He's going to be a force to recon with next year.

Props for bringing in recon force.

Even if unintentional...

So Georgia and Vanderbilt are what is known as "good football teams." Florida is... not that.

Florida is getting better and they will use what Georgia did (with less athletes) and what Vandy did ( with better athletes)

I will welcome a raping but COME ON BRo

I have seen the QB of our team and the turnovers do not give me comfort that this will be a "raping"

I get it, but do you wanna trade?

@Pimphand posted that preview video that seemed a bit off to me.

  1. Only the Center and left side of the Gata Oline are good.  Runs to that side will have the best chance.
  2. Baugh is going to be a problem if he can get lathered up.  Far and away our best back who has just started to see the field.  I *think* he broke Herschel's highschool records in GA... so uh yeah.
  3. It's telling that the AD had to issue a preemptive statement of support ahead of the Horns game.
  4. Gata safeties are NOT good.  Way too scared and shy away from contact... They will literally run away from a tackle.  Looking at you Castell
  5. UF Kicking units are solid to very good  (That's why I gave the Gata 6 points in the prediction thread)

The Horns are gonna have a good time IMHO

The biggest difference is that we have annihilated teams that don’t have enough offense to help their defense.
Even with Lagway, I don’t see Florida doing enough on offense to keep their defense off the field.

Now if the offense continues to gift the other team short fields…that’s a different story.

They aren't as well coached as either of those teams. Their QB options are a dude who would have been out there losing to Columbia last weekend if his girlfriend wasn't a Floridian smokeshow and a running QB with only one leg. That's worse than Quinn by a lot.

They've got a lot more talent than Vandy, but it's really unequally distributed.

Georgia and Texas are kinda the same for me as far as team play. Good defense with bad game QBs. The thing is that if both teams get the superstar qb to show up for a game, they’re unbeatable and probably the best teams in the country my opinion. In summary, no team wants to be the team where superstar Quinn shows up or it will be a bludgeoning. Hate to say it but Georgia opponents should feel same way.

FSU loses that game. They're just so, so bad.

If OL can quit stepping on dicks repeatedly Texas should have good day.

Will Ferrell Lol GIF

The one constant this year is oline stepping on their dicks.  I'd like to see one fucking game w/out a pre-snap oline penalty.

What this post presupposes is that maybe, this week, they start stepping on the OTHER TEAM'S dicks.

There’s a very real chance we shutout Florida. They haven’t been shutout in a game since 1988. Longest streak in college football history I believe.

I could see that with a third string QB. They still have quality RBs though.

Unrelated - is there site where I can make a prop bet on Florida scoring at least 2?

Didn’t know this….cool:

In our new series SEC Connections, we take a quick look at coincidences, partnerships and parallels between The University of Texas at Austin and our sister schools in the Southeastern Conference. This week, The University of Florida.
* * *
Robert Cade grew up in San Antonio and graduated from UT in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1961, this Life Member of the Texas Exes went to work as a nephrologist (kidney specialist) at the University of Florida College of Medicine and in 1965 led a team of researchers in trying to figure out why football players didn’t urinate after a game. They soon learned that players lost so much fluid that they had none left to form urine. Cade developed a drink that contained salts and sugars that could be absorbed more quickly, and the basis for Gatorade was formed, so named for the team that would first drink it, thanks to a Longhorn!

For what it's worth, Chris Doering said he believes there is no way Lagway suits up and plays.  If he does it will reaggravate it.
He's right, I'd say the chance is less than zero. Lagway has nothing to gain by rushing back and possibly having a bad performance, and Billy's job is safe for another year so there is no incentive to play Lagway. In fact there is much more incentive to let him fully heal and recruit him to stay at UF for next year.

Lagway is not gonna play.

Don't know if the band made the trip, but UF has a pretty good band and Dragnet is a banger...
