Trust fund baby whining about limousine liberals. You have about as much self awareness as Trump.

Look, Johnny, if you're a "thinker," not a "feeler," and you're above things like anxiety/depression/mental illness, what's stopping you from celebrating this win with some scotch or whiskey? Surely someone who's not so mentally and emotionally deficient wouldn't crumble into dust from a sip or two.

I'm taking my youngest son to Matagorda 3 mile cut this weekend for a little camping and kayak fishing.

I'm sure the duck hunters and Trumper flag people will be out in full force.

Also, if I remember correctly, and I think I do, the Trumpers got pretty damn uppity after the 2016 election, so I am also expecting that as well.

Yay America.

What? What's wrong with asking him why he can't celebrate with a drink?

I quit drinking cold turkey 3 years ago.  Read a book that helped me.  Have not had any desire to drink since I quit.  Not something I struggle with at all.  Guess I just don't have the addictive gene.  Was just a bad habit for me not some alcoholic compulsion like many people have.

Nah.  Not at all tempted.  Don't think about alcohol.

Going to go run 5 miles shortly.  A silently laugh at the handful of Harris Walz signs in my neighborhood (one of the few red areas inside the loop).

Don't think I was an alcoholic.  Just someone who drank more than healthy -- usually several drinks every evening -- and was causing health issues I wanted to get out in front of.  Quitting was easy for me.  I quit tobacco in college just as easily.  Some people do not have addictive personalities.

Does not really matter regardless.  I quit.  Don't think about consuming booze any more despite it being all around me.  It was easy for me.  Wish it was this easy for others.

Illegal aliens should be deported.  We need to stop incentivizing rule breaking.

We also need a robust guest worker program that allows migrant workers to be vetted and to legally work here.  Many would be happy to work here seasonally and then return home if they could do so without hassle.  Like the old bracero program.

Sure. I mean that is what tons of people were doing anyway. I was always in favor of a guest worker program. Our immigration laws just did not correspond to the needs of the economy.

But will it happen?

Why do you think it is that we've never been able to pass laws to harshly punish companies caught hiring illegals? That would reduce the crossings and jumpstart a better migrant worker program, no?

Trump said if someone got deported on accident everyone would act like it's the worst thing in the world but he doesn't give a shit.

Do you know how insane it is to deport legal citizens of a country? I have no confidence that this isn't going to be extremely messy because there's not really a way for it not to be.

So 71 million people are racist….   This is a dumbass take, like I said it’s the loud minority you hear.  but keep thinking like that and calling them all names and see where that gets you next time.

There’s a lot of reason people vote.  I’d hope a big portion that voted for Trump don’t actually like him but didn’t want the alternative more.  And no I’m not saying that’s right either but that’s how it is.

like the cowardly pieces of shit you so adore, you completely skate around the fact that they love a racist GOP. You do this because you  believe the same things those racist GOP idiots believe.

You think it’s more important not to call out racists supporting  racists because it makes them feel bad. You think it’s more important not to call out stupid people for being stupid because it makes them feel bad.

You think these things are more important than not being stupid and not being racist.   and this is where we disagree.  here is a tip; they did not vote for Trump because they felt that the mean liberals called them a name or thought they were stupid. They voted for Trump because they are stupid - and because they really love them some racism and some sexism and some homophobia.

Own it - or explain why supporting racists is not supporting racism.

Want to guess what 100% won't happen under Trump?

Your pitch is akin to "yes, you should jump out of a plane with failing engines".....presuming that part 2 of that plan ("with a parachute on") will happen.

There is zero interest in any such immigration reform from MAGA.  Less than zero.  Negative infinity type levels.  The only thing that will be a marker of success is images of pain and suffering of a brutal deportation.  None of this is about an actual economic or immigration policy.  It is about masturbatory indulgence in our worst nativist impulses, full-stop.

Both parties have reasons to not want that. The Democrats cannot be seen to legally support less than minimum wage labor. That is why it never happens. Dubya wanted to do it but his party revolted and the Democrats did not save it for that reason.

How have you not read this story?

https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-citizenship-revoked-denaturalized/

Quote

In 1995, according to the Post, Musk was admitted to graduate school at Stanford but didn’t enroll in classes, instead working on an online services startup that would eventually be known as Zip2. (Stanford did not reply to requests for comment.) In 1996, the Post reported, investors made a funding agreement contingent on Musk and his brother Kimbal—who has stated that the brothers were “illegal immigrants”—obtaining authorization to work in the US within 45 days. “Their immigration status was not what it should be for them to be legally employed running a company in the US,” Zip2 board member Derek Proudian told the Post.

He gamed the system and fraudulently entered then started working under a student visa

Is anyone talking about deporting current American citizens who were once illegally here?  I don't see that.

He shouldn't be deported.  First, pursuant to the existing law, because he committed fraud in his citizenship application process, he should be denaturalized. THEN, because he is not a citizen, and he is not eligible for immigration status because of his prior fraud, he should be deported.

Enforce the law.  That's all we ask and expect, right?  That's what all of y'all have been telling us for years.  It's not about the person, or race, IT'S ABOUT THE LAW.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it true that when Trump was in the WH for his first two years and the GOP held both the House and Senate, the number of immigration reform legislations they sent to his desk was not greater than zero?

Bingo.

Immigration has one purpose, and one purpose only in MAGA-land: to fire up nativist sentiment and rage, and inspire people to vote/act on it.

It's a strategy that works.

But note that nowhere in that status is anything even approaching "reform our current immigration system."  In fact, reforming it would be COUNTER-productive to the one purpose.  Hard to inflame people when you've resolved the issue with a balanced and rational policy.

Were they shams? Wasn't he found guilty of things? I thought we were about enforcing the law?

As for whether anybody will go after Elon, that won't happen. But it isn't up to me.

It's wherever the Party says it needs to be. He's not using his own brain, he's an officer of the court and a church elder arguing that the trials and evidence against trump are manufactured. He lies before God and the actual factual record.
