Do not “but Obama” one of the grossest human rights abuses in modern American history. Good lord

Is that what I said? Obviously no one is a monolith. I'm talking about bases. You'd agree that non-college educated is his, correct? They break for him at 63%.

I might have been looking at different data than you, sorry. The apnews demographic list I looked at showed that "some college/college" were pretty even for Harris and Trump.

Oh....I think I disagree with that.

Seems that we've decided that theirs was actually the RIGHT side of history.   See the statements and actions already spewing forth from MAGAs since the election (oh, and know that ALL of the MAGAs are okay with them.  How do we know?  When that shit as said, ZERO MAGAs call them out and say "no, that's not what we are").  Those people just won.  The winner gets to write the book, so it turns out, they were on the right side of history all along.

Every elected politician in Washington and the Supreme Court, no matter what liberals think. I think most elected Republicans are thrilled at the prospect of never having to see Donald J. Trump on a ballot ever again.

His political career is over after his term ends. Donald Trump holding on to power after January 20, 2029 is literally the last thing you should worry about.

Only because of age and dementia, he will be too old and he will get a pardon, but I still give it good odds of happening.

My memory is fuzzy on this but IIRC, the cages were used solely to house the children of known criminals who crossed illegally - primarily drug and human traffickers.  The parents were kept in jails awaiting trial and deportation and Obama admin had the cages made so the kids wouldn't have to stay in jail with other (presumably dangerous) criminals.

Again, I could be way off on that but that's what I remember hearing from my sister who is an immigration attorney in the Valley.

Trump used the cages to separate families who entered through ports of entry to LEGALLY claim asylum.  And of course he did it so incompetently that some families had to wait months to be reunited.

Somebody please explain to me how 7 million people will be deported. Let’s forget that no one ever asked Trump how he’s going to pay for his policies, let’s just start with who will be making arrests. The military? Local police? The FBI? And how is this going to work- SWAT teams roll into an immigrant rich neighborhood with cops demanding to see proof of citizenship or visa papers for every brown person on the street?

Next, I’d like to hear about how our backlogged immigration courts are going to hear and process 7 million deportation orders.

Where is the government going to house and feed these 7 million people while their cases are decided?

My prediction is that they will make as much progress with these deportations as they did on building the fucking wall

check the debt and deficit from Obama Out to January 2020.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2024/11/07/liberal-women-4b-sex-strike-over-trump-election-win/

Quote

Liberal women have sworn to go on sex strike over Donald Trump’s election win.

Mr Trump swept to victory in Tuesday’s presidential race that Democrats cast as a referendum on abortion rights and protections for women.

Some women are now threatening to punish men for voting for Trump, taking inspiration from a Korean feminist movement that vows to withhold sex from men in order to redefine the gender power balance.

Interest in the “4B movement” spiked since Kamala Harris’s defeat, with women sharing videos of themselves on social media pledging to commit to its four “no’s” — no sex, no dating or marriage and no having children with men — for the next four years.

In one video shared on TikTok, a young woman pledges to go celibate and encourages others to delete dating apps in order to “exercise sovereignty” over their bodies.

“As a woman, my bodily autonomy matters and this is my way to exercise sovereignty over that,” she says.

“So I highly encourage any other women who are single and still care about progressing women’s rights and still fighting for our bodily autonomy to do the same. Delete your dating apps.”

The woman also encourages others to seek out their female friends for comfort “if you need somebody to cuddle” and describes the 4B movement, which originated in South Korea, as a “point of inspiration”.

The US election revealed a gender divide in the electorate, with 55 per cent of men turning out for Mr Trump and 53 per cent of women voting for Ms Harris.

The president-elect touted his role in overturning Roe v Wade, a ruling that ended the nationwide right to abortion, throughout his election campaign and has been repeatedly accused of making offensive comments about women.

In response, some have blamed sexism for America’s decision to return Mr Trump to the White House.

“Men will always be against women,” read the caption in one TikTok video of a young woman crying in a car, encouraging women to join the 4B movement. “Women are just as capable to be presidents as a man.”

In another video, a woman says that “for the next four years I am going to abstain from sex with men”.

A separate video was captioned: “I think it’s time for American women to participate in our own 4B movement.”

Many of the videos addressed concerns over abortion, which was on the ballot in 10 states and was central to the Harris campaign.

“If men won’t respect our bodies, they don’t get access to our bodies,” one woman said. “All I have to say is, good luck getting laid. Especially in Florida, because me and my girlies are participating in the 4B movement.”

In a further video, one woman said: “I personally think if all these men are voting to take our rights away, they don’t deserve to touch a woman for the next four years. So, hope you thought that through you guys.”

An obscure, largely online branch of Korean feminism, the 4B Movement started in the mid 2010s, around the same time as the #MeToo movement in the US, in response to a wave of reports about violence towards women, and gender equality issues.

It stands for four Korean words that begin with “bi” or “no” in English. Bihon means no heterosexual marriage, bichulsan means no childbirth, biyeonae means no dating, and bisekseu signifies no heterosexual sexual relationships.

It is unclear how widespread the movement is in Korea, but it has met with a backlash from some disgruntled men, who have coined the term “kimchinyeo,” or “kimchee women,” to characterise college-educated women as “selfish, vain, and exploitative of their partners”.

I'm probably way behind, but this exchange interests me as a policy matter.

How would the logistics of arresting them, transporting them to camps, setting up those camps, and maintaining those camps even at the cruel level Trump would prefer work?

To where would Trump deport millions of undocumented immigrants?

Sounds like it will be far more difficult than building a wall, and we all saw how that went.

So, Donald will classify millions of people as not belonging here at all. They are a threat to us and our pets. What do you do while you're waiting for the Trump Troopers to come remove them? You must protect yourself and your family!

Well, see, here's how it will go.

1) Brisket will approach his soon-to-be-friends in the Trump administration.  He will promise DJT that half of all dollars the government spends on BrisketCo's Internment Camp construction contract will be funneled off to Trump business entities, with no expectation of any product or work on their end.

2) BrisketCo will be awarded MASSIVE contracts to construct Internment Camps.

3) BrisketCo will either not deliver at all, or will deliver sub-standard products, and CEO Brisket will pocket an 8-figure salary on the job.  So when BrisketCo goes tits up, it don't make a shit to Brisket, cuz Brisket got PAID.

That pretty much covers it.

You don't think the left gets misinformed by the media on topics?

You remember when Morning Joe talked about Biden's mental acuity?

Or liberals thinking Covid had something like a 30% mortality rate?

Or this after George Floyd:

We have a very misinformed electorate.  That shit ain't limited to the GOP.  How many idiot democrats on Tuesday had to Google whether Joe Biden was still on the ballot?

One side actively seeks "misinformation" to justify their hate and fear. Or maybe they seek lies and liars; I'm not really sure of the difference between intentionally generated "misinformation/false statements" and lies.

Why are people assuming these deportations will follow any type of due process?

Yep. Brown folks whisked away to a random place outside the U.S. Eventually something gets in front of a judge. If it's a Trumper, end of the road, petition dismissed. If it's not, maybe some ruling gets handed down 18 months after the state-sanctioned kidnapping. 10 days later SCOTUS disposes of that ruling by way of the shadow docket, with mootness (we don't even know where they are now!) and immunity will likely do some heavy lifting, because these crimes will all be direct orders from DOTUS.

I get satisfaction from knowing that every time Macklemore opens his mouth about politics in public--and you know he's the kind of douchebag that does it all the fucking time--everyone just starts saying "uh huh" on tuned out repeat, looking around, checking their phones, tapping their feet, pretending they have a watch on their wrist, just hoping he'll pick up on a single social cue to stop talking.

Even those with similar voter patterns walk away saying, "holy shit, what a nutjob."

I know a few Macklemores myself.

They'll harass just enough unfortunate people to make it look like they're super serious about mass deportation. The press will send cameras. Reporters will be concerned. Then Americans will get distracted and we'll go back to business as usual enjoying the fruits of an economy that makes widespread use of undocumented workers.

That's what I think will happen, anyway.

But the really bad stuff might happen. Or rather they might try to make it happen.
