Trump’s America

I just drove up and down 71 and I saw the planes. They are outside a classic car place. That was the only mention of Trump I saw on the up and back.
Now, this is bullshit. I make that drive pretty regularly, and the number of signs pre-election vs. post-election changed bigly. It's like they all waited for the Trump win to show their ass... which makes a lot of sense actually.

You should document each one next time you make the drive.

Perhaps NASA can come up with a plan to straighten the earth to keep consistent sun rises and sun sets.😀

When the sun rises and sets relative to the clock has a lot to do with your position relative to the longitude that your time zone *should* be centered on. During daylight saving time, which is now nearly 2/3 of the year, that longitude line is shifted another 15 degrees east. So, during daylight saving time, if you have to get up at "5:30" so you can get your kid out of bed for school, you're actually getting up at 4:30 in Houston or Dallas  Austin is west of 97.5 degrees, so people there are getting up at 3:30.

That really fucks with people's health. And in a place like Texas where seasonal variation really isn't that big, it's entirely our own fault.

Trump's America will feature empowered fanatical Christians ... all across the land of the free.

Massive power, unchecked, with unhinged hate ... all across the home of the brave.

Like all fanatical regimes in history (including communists), when fanatical Christians have unchecked political power, they unleash unhinged hate and killing. They are already finding people to hate, to kill in America.

Who? The sinners. The infidels. The outsiders. The people not like them. People to hate, such as women who abort or miscarry.

Why? To purify, to cleanse, to hurt, to humiliate, to impose Biblical rule through fear and domination.

They will kill because they believe their (unseen, fact-free) Creator has their back for eternity. As the article says, life is "created in God's image" is their rationale for executing women who don't carry a fetus to term.

And If Christian political power is not stopped, they will kill plenty more.

After all, this is the land of the free and home of the brave!

----------

And I'm sure the endless supply of Surly Christian apologists will say I'm wrong. That these are fake Christians, that true Christians don't kill, that these are misguided but still "good people," etc. Or cite some BS verse from the Bible. Go tell that to 400 years of dead Native Americans. Or others slaughtered across the planet in the name of God. Lulz.

He's such a slob. is it that hard to put on some slacks and a button down and coat?

Fetterman is just another faux "authentic" bro. Thinks dressing in hoodie, or sweats, or t-shirt with band/team logo, or baggy shorts down to their calves ... somehow ... makes them more real and authentic and an overall badass butt kicker.

It's all laughable .... but it is also part of the decline in manners and rise of vulgarity in civil society.

Now, I would never get caught in button down with slacks and coat. Never. Button down, dockers, navy blue jacket = Code for boring dad, corporate clone, and/or possible fascist sympathizer in today's world.

I have a black suit in my closet, but I mostly wear my 501s, leather jackets, and funky boots. But then I hang out in artsy-fartsy world. Lulz!

Bruesewitz, the CEO of X Strategies, has been a key figure in reshaping Trump's outreach strategy, particularly among younger voters.

According to Daily Mail, he joined Trump's 2024 campaign in the summer, earning credit for modernising the former president's image and enhancing his appeal with a younger demographic.

Trump himself praised Bruesewitz in a pre-recorded speech played at the gala, recognising his contributions to the campaign.

The gala, an annual event held by the New York Young Republican Club, featured notable conservative figures and included a 20-minute speech from Steve Bannon, who criticised the "Biden regime."

The event also served as a platform to celebrate the campaign's success, underscoring Bruesewitz's pivotal role in Trump's resurgence among young voters.

Bruesewitz has been instrumental in introducing Trump to unconventional media platforms and personalities.

His efforts included connecting Trump with influencers, podcasters, and entertainers such as Logan Paul, Andrew Schulz, and Theo Von.

According to reports, these collaborations helped Trump engage with a new audience previously disengaged from traditional political channels.

Bruesewitz's approach extended beyond media appearances.

He worked closely with Barron Trump to identify potential media opportunities and curated a list of influencers and content creators with significant youth appeal.

This strategic shift has been credited with reinvigorating Trump's online presence and broadening his base.

Trump "open" to pardoning NYC mayor Eric Adams: https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-cabinet-transition-news-12-16-24/index.html

Quote

President-elect Donald Trump said he would be open to pardoning New York City Mayor Eric Adams, saying Adams — who was indicted on federal corruption charges earlier this year — has been “treated pretty unfairly.”

Trump minimized the details of the accusations against Adams, which including accepting and soliciting donations for his mayoral campaigns, during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago home on Monday. Adams was accused, in part, of illegally accepting free travel to foreign countries. Trump compared the accused illegal travel payments as similar to receiving an airfare rewards upgrade.

“I think that he was treated pretty unfairly. Now I haven’t seen the gravity of it all, but it seems, you know, like being upgraded in an airplane many years ago. I know probably everybody here has been upgraded,” he said.

Trump said that Adams, who criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policy, suggested that Adams’ indictment was politically motivated, and reiterated his belief that Adams invited scrutiny from federal prosecutors with his criticism of the administration.

Adams was indicted by federal prosecutors in September, and he faces five charges of bribery, corruption, wire fraud and soliciting and accepting donations from foreign nationals. He has pleaded not guilty and has maintained he did not commit any wrongdoing in public statements.

Wait—now he’s announcing he’s going to sue Ann Selzer and the newspaper that published that poll?

For fucking what?

So, the other day he was being interviewed on NBC. He said that everyone on the J6 committee should be in jail. Now, the very obvious, immediate followup question to that is "For what? What charges? What laws do you think they broke?". NOPE! He lied about not having, sigh, Patel arrest them all, and then that was that. This shit just kills me.

private equity will buy it out, cut the head count. ax the pension plan, gut the benefits and jack up the rates. close many many locations sitting on prime real estate.

So, in Trump’s America one should decry the murder of a healthcare company CEO, but celebrate choking the life out of a homeless mentally ill person on a train?

Yes, that's precisely the situation. The downtrodden are, by definition, beneath the boot, and rightly so in Trump World, while the high and mighty must be uplifted as is befitting their elevated station.

It gives me real pause to say this, but having empathy in 2024 just isn’t a virtue.

MAGA is full of regards.

But there’s something to be said about the people that grift and use the useful idiots to their benefit.

Their lack of caring or soul is incredibly useful in our new age.

Money has always been power, but now it’s speech, and it’s absolutely suffocating democracy. The form of government of the 20th century cannot survive in a world of the internet, social media, and unaccountable $.

Maybe my initial reaction of mocking these people was wrong. Maybe their ‘stupidity’ or ‘evil’ wasn’t a character flaw or something to fix. Maybe I’m the one that needs fixing.

Early indications are that Trump’s America will be a complete reversal of the Me Too years. Certain men can now sexually assault women with impunity and rise to the highest levels of our new MAGA government. RFK Jr, Hegseth, Gaetz, and Trump himself. Well somehow Gaetz was a little too slimy so don’t ever let your loved ones near that guy for sure.

America elected a rapist, so here we go. If you’re a woman and you voted for him, wtf.

Anthony Weiner and Roy Moore were a little ahead of their time.

Ok, but my point still stands.

Yeah.  Apparently the private entity got fined for not making delivery targets.  Other than that, it seems to have gone mostly ok.

The ability to send a letter anywhere in the states for 60 cents is remarkable and I am broadly a fan of the Post Office.

That said, its use case is kind of dwindling without reducing the costs of providing it.  You'd think the people most up in arms about this would be those assholes that use overcheap bulk rates to stuff our mailboxes full of crap.
