It's just nothing but hate and destruction. And we knew it was coming. Great job by the democrats of verbalizing what would happen in another Trump administration. I didn't have a lot of complaints at the time so I'm going to be a hypocrite here, but maybe the whole "they're so weird!" thing wasn't the best way to go about warning people about how Trump would purposefully destroy America and sell whatever is left for parts.

Trump told everyone he was a snake….when they took him in…..in fact, it’s the Chinese year of the snake…..what’s the odds?

This is Florida after DeSantis did the same shit all over again. Oh but that wasn't the aim of removing DEI. We just meant all the other DEI stuff.

Tuskegee Airmen was a great fucking movie. I feel this scene could be spoken today by someone African American being accused over only getting their position because of DEI. RIP Andre Braugher.

Thing is, what have Republicans ever delivered?

Neither party has delivered effective or efficient government, or real help for the little guys.  But the realistic Republican record is far worse.

The truth is is that it begins and ends with messaging.

It begins and ends with money.

America has been captured by capital.

Until Americans stop willingly giving rich people their money, nothing will change.

I am not into body count discourse, but to get to a number like 50-150 by averaging 5-10 sexual partners a year, that means you have likely never maintained a long-term monogamous relationship and are having a lot of one-night stands or are sleeping with multiple people at the same time.  That would be the red flag to me if I were looking for a monogamous relationship, not the “number.”  If you’re not, though, then go wild.

It’s also wildly higher than the average which I believe is something like 6 or 7 partners.

Eh. Between high school and college I had a lot of sexual encounters. A lot. But then I had a 20+ year span of monogamy then kinda went nuts after a divorce and surpassed my college numbers.

The weakness of Democratic Party leadership played a big part in getting us here.  The Democratic Party doesn’t have much of a coherent agenda beyond “we will stop the Republicans from doing the bad things” and they have catastrophically failed at that agenda.

The last monumental policy win was passing a watered down republican healthcare plan 15 years ago and our healthcare system is still an overpriced racket. When you repeatedly don’t deliver, voters will look elsewhere or just give up on giving a shit.

I do not expect any self reflection or change in tune from the Democratic Party either.  They will double down on failed neoliberalism and pandering to people they continue to screw over.

Are the democrats responsible for Trump entirely? No, but they’ve repeatedly proven they are not part of the solution either.

Considering the partisan political environment, they were monumental.  And they're good for the country, broadly speaking.

But, they're not going to deliver anything to the electorate in the short term.  They'll be a distant memory by the time anything trickles down to the dumbshits.

You’re not wrong, but the claim was that the Dems haven’t had a monumental policy win since Obamacare which is plainly false.

Example of a win for Republicans that is coming right now - $1400 stimulus checks. The IRS is automatically sending stimulus payments of up to $1,400 per person to eligible taxpayers who didn't claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit.

The MAGA morons out there that gets this will clap for the republicans for giving them money, while at the same time screaming about the evils of socialism.

And TFG's name and signature will be on the checks.  You can count on it.

During the height of the COVID outbreak my deceased father got one with that guy's name on it.  I am not a fan of any politician trying to frame government services of any kind coming from an individual.  They should say, "courtesy of your fellow taxpayer" or something similar.

Oh yeah, thanks for the non-partisan infrastructure plan that should have been done decades ago.  You did the bare minimum to keep the economy going as we go head first into the abyss of fascism.  How about the minimum wage?  Or the promised public option?

The point is the democrats have largely regressed on policy since Obamacare and opted to mostly play defense while also managing to lose the big elections (these things could be related!)

The idea of universal healthcare or tuition free college isn’t even in the realm of possibilities anymore for Democrats. That is a massive leadership failure.

I feel like you’ve made quite a few posts about how you pay for hookers. Are you suggesting the 25% you reference should do that when you say “getting sex is easy”?

Paywalled, so you can read here if needed

Thank you for posting the article w/o the paywall. Not surprised regarding some of the author's discoveries. Even not being a member of the target demo for these podcasts, as a frequent youtube viewer/listener, I get caught up in the algorithm occasionally and the suggestions and ads associated with these accounts are rather obvious (to me) because, again, I'm not who they are trying to influence but the cuffs have been removed (not that anything was all that restrictive) and they've got a lot of eyes and ears soaking in the hate that's sprinkled in amongst the sports and other chatter so as to come across as reasonable people. Protect one's person and one's wallet when around someone who is straight up saying, "I'm a reasonable trustworthy person, see?"

C'mon, man. These things have never been a realistic possibility for a single second in this country, and it ain't because of Democrat failure.

Fair point.  Let me rephrase that.

Getting sex while single is easy.

I don’t watch tv news but rather read news online. Why is Project 2025 rarely mentioned even though Trump is effectively following the game plan as predicted by these same news sources a few months ago.

are they all backing off from Trump because they need access to the WH?

Well he’s threatening to sue or pull licenses for news agencies/networks that say bad things about them. And news is a for profit industry nowadays. Can’t make money if Trump takes you off the air.

Plus, he denied it, duh!  But that really is it in a microcosm.  He denied it and the press basically left him alone on it.

No, "but most of the authors are exclusively former or potential Trump administration officials. And your VP wrote the foreword.  Are you going to make sure officials of your administration are as hostile to Project 2025 as you are?"

Right, but the democrats aren’t even moving in that direction anymore and that’s the difference.  The Republicans actually have an agenda and they will lie and cheat their asses off to get it done.  It’s a horrible and harmful agenda but they are implementing project 2025.

The leadership of the Democratic Party does not have a well articulated credible plan for the future of this country and they are doomed until they come up with one.  Their entire strategy was stopping Trump for the last 10 years and it went as bad as imaginable.  You can call it incompetence or complicity but it’s most likely some combination of both.

Have the Democratic leadership been all the vocal this past week. I’ve seen some shots of a Jeffries PC that looked to be about that pardoned J6er arrested again. I see Bernie lamenting the state of things. I dont see anything about the party’s plans. Like what are Dem Senators doing to raise alarms about trump violating the law firing the generals inspector? Repubs would be screaming from the hilltops even if they were the minority party

I asked this same question to a friend.  She thinks/hopes the Dems are putting together an organized and major response for first part of next week.

My mother wants to keep fighting and still thinks the good guys are destined to win somehow because "this is still a good country."

I think the fight ended in November and the bad guys won for the next generation.  I wonder if the Dem silence is an acceptance of that, at least for the short term.  Maybe the only thing left for them to do is watch it burn for a year or two, then try to win the mid-term in a huge way as people who voted for this shitstorm start to realize their mistake.  What else can they do in the next couple of years that will actually matter?

Hell, I really don't know anymore.  It all just looks bleak as fuck.

I don’t know if it’s just that they are on their heels right now and are weathering the storm. Or if they are just allowing trump to keep going with his EOs knowing that he’ll push too far as usual giving them an opening. I fear it’s the former and they have no clue how to respond

The very structure of college allows for lots of sexing.  Guys and gals all live together in tight spaces and then apply booze.

If you're a man over 40 and reasonably attractive with good people skills and a good job, it's easy.  If you gave me a head start and in a big city, I could easily pull five in a month.  Not sure I'd want to but I could.

These people prattling on about a dating/marriage/sex crisis are missing the point.  Women still want those things, just not with them.

The free market has moved on past the federal minimum wage.
Colleges everywhere are adding free tuition for families making under specific thresholds. Online learning is much more beneficial for real, job preparation, rather than the bloviated course offering it is today.

I don't know if they have thought it through this much but the rope-a-dope strategy seems like the only one they can play at the moment.  A lot of words have come out of that side's mouth for going on a decade now that doesn't seem to be landing.  Shut that down for a bit, let your opponent do their thing, and see if we all can survive it while they punch themselves out.

Just like Poland was so unfriendly to Germany in 1939.  They could have done a deal.  Easily.  But they wanted war instead.  Sad.

1) Denmark’s claim is actually quite weak, and amounts to possession being 9/10ths of the rule, except in reality we’ve “possessed” it to a greater extent than Denmark for much of the last 80 years.

2) it would be better for the security of the Western Hemisphere for it to be a territory or protectorate of the United States.

3) it’s a mixed bag for the Greenlanders, all 60k of them, 90% of whom are indigenous, but one thing that is almost certain is that they would all become individually quite wealthy, overnight.

The United States has been circling around Greenland for over a century, and the protection of Denmark, if you can even call it that, hasn’t done them any favors. I’m not in favor of taking it by force but just because Trump is stupid and bad doesn’t make this particular thing either.

Agree with all this. I think if we can broker a deal and do an Alaska 2.0 deal, the entire world would be better for it, but definitely Americans as Russia and China jockey for arctic sphere of influence.

Nobody gives a shit, in part because it's bleak af and easy to take the pessimistic view that whats going to happen is going to happen. I think I'm there.

But also, because what hill are they supposed to stand on to get that message out, exactly? Tweet it? Appear on another political talk show? The media is done for, they're complicit, the strings for Dems to pull to utilize media are quickly disappearing. They're as divided as the people are, the message rings hollow because of it.

As long as the filibuster exists, those things aren't even remotely possible politically.

That doesn't mean Democrats can't run on and talk about them.
