That won't do a damn bit of good.  In order for disruptions to work, your target has to be able to feel shame.  The dotard will just lash out and have the Capitol Police shoot them.

I turned on a segment of Fox and they are salivating at the idea of Dems being boorish.  They're pre-emptively making fun of it as impotent and out of touch.  Their talking points are, Americans overwhelmingly love the policies of cutting government, securing the border, and bringing jobs back by margins of up to 80:20 and the Democrats are just trying to keep trans athletes in women's sports.

Dems need to focus on the economy, wealth transfers to the billionaire class and America safety impacted by cuts to FAA, FBI, HHS, etc.

Musk and Ben Shapiro are now advocating for the pardon of George Floyd's killer, so...expect wall to wall coverage over this in the coming days.

Hadn’t even considered this as a possibility, but of course it’s gonna happen now. One of the most symbolically demoralizing acts I could imagine.

The whole point of pardoning George Floyd's killer is to spark violent protests like we had in 2020.  Those protests will be used to keep his sheeple scared so they don't abandon him when he promises to make all the dogs pay for the violence.  He needs more boogiemen because he's responsible for the border now so can't use the immigrant line without putting himself on the hotseat.

Not a tough decision at all for the for profit hospitals.  You got money, we'll treat you.  Hey you, yeah you over there bleeding out from your eyeballs... take your broke bitch ass down the road.

It’s not that easy. Hospitals don’t want to get sideways with EMTALA.

And keep the message simple and pointed.

Trump policies amount to big Good luck!

Trump started a trade war. Good luck paying more for everything!

Trump made a tax cut. Good luck if you're not a billionaire!

Trump gutted the control towers at your airport. Good luck flying!

Trump destroyed the FBI. Good luck if somebody kidnaps your child!

Trump let's anybody put whatever they want in your water. Good luck if you get thirsty!

This.  Violence, and the violent response by the State and (this next part is very, very important) non-State actors who have the full endorsement and protection of the State, is a FEATURE, not a bug of the Authoritarian playbook.

So, the answer is...those protests need to put the 2020 protests to shame.  They should be much, much, more....shockingly more....violent.

Violence IS going to happen.  That much is guaranteed -- the regime has guaranteed it.

Thanks, so there is an extra step.  Pardon is off the table the announcement was that the justice dept was going to look into the conviction and that means they are going to find another way to get the conviction overturned.

Shrub while in office. Clinton did things like it but went into overdrive when he left office.

Citizens United was in 2010... that opened the floodgate. But to compare Clinton, Bush jr. or Obama, to anything that Trump is doing, is disingenuous at best. Just look at what Trump is doing with crypto, Truth Social, meme coins, etc., he has numerous ways for foreign nations, donors and anyone who wants to get in the action, to slip him money. With no accountability.

Say what you will about the Boomers, but a whole hell of a lot of them would have filled the streets around just about every university in the country in response to this. I'm not criticizing younger generations, I'm truly curious about why it's so different now. Distraction? Poor civics education?

All the Boomers that support Trump have switched sides regarding the Kent State killings. Yay National Guard!

In his grave, Nixon smirks and wonders why he couldn't have taken these steps.

I agree. I am saying paying for dinner is not new. 2004 my boss paid to attend a dinner with GWB. He got a picture and everything. Had to see it everytime I walked in and out of my office.

I am not saying at all it is good. I am saying it happens and yes, considering all the rest of the shit he is doing this is meh.

He pled guilty to federal civil rights charges. He’s currently serving his time in the federal prison in Big Spring. Pardoning him of the federal crimes means he would be moved to a state prison in Minnesota. I’m guessing Mr. Chauvin would much prefer to serve his time in Big Spring versus a state prison in the state where he committed murder while wearing a badge and carrying a gun.

Well they don't actually care about him. They want to use him so that's fine.

He was convicted in both courts of different crimes, so...he could be pardoned, but still in custody.

Quote

While Chauvin pleaded guilty to federal civil rights violations and tax evasion charges, the murder of Floyd was a state charge, which Trump can't pardon, explained legal expert Andy Craig.

His federal sentences are running concurrently with his longer state sentence for murder.

I've been bouncing back and forth on this.  The SOTU (and speeches like it) are important.  Anything Dems do will be castigated in the moment and used as justification in the future when MTGs of the world do something worse should we ever have a Dem president again.  I was trying to think of a better form of protest.  They should stand up and walk out during Trump's first sentence.  Perhaps singing some kind of protest song.  Hold a simultaneous protest press conference that includes fired Federal workers on the capitol steps.   Take the message away from Trump's speech.  We all know it will be batshit anyway.  So do something that will make it batshit and not newsworthy because you've created a more newsworthy event on the capitol steps.

Go take the white house since he is not there? Set up a protest at Lafayette square.

Yep. Otherwise, sit there with folded arms and laugh out loud when he says funny dumb stuff. “you broke it you bought it energy,” nothing more is required.

I mean, I wouldn't be sad if there was a "Designated Survivor" type event during the speech.  A "wildfire storage facility exploding under the Sept of Baelor" image would be very pleasing, actually.

They should do what the UT student section did during halftime of the Texas-aggy game at Memorial Stadium in 1994 or so. We were getting our asses kicked but when the Fightin' Texum Bulldog Band took the field most of the student section stood up and did the Nazi salute. Ah, good times.
