Yep.  Just tourists, checking out the sights.  Isn't that the "January 6th play?"  Peaceful tourists, just checking out an important landmark related to our beloved President.

My dumb fuck uncle sharing a fake news story from something called the “Dunning Kruger Times” is a tad on the nose to be honest. The simulation may be glitching a bit.

Well, I laughed.  Huge props to whoever came up with that name.

Let’s pour one out for all the fake leftists and libertarians like Glenn Greenwald who will tie themselves into knots to avoid calling out DJT. “Deported for protesting Biden” LMFAO.

Unsurprising because they clearly violated regs with that process.  There is some humor here, Project 2025 had smart evil fucks who mostly mapped out the pain points and levers for dismantling the federal government, and then Elon and the League of Extraordinary Incels got to fuck up the implementation.

Sadly, we are closer to a SCOTUS decision on the “Donald J. Trump is the living embodiment of law and the Constitution” doctrine.

Trump Pardons Ex-Tennessee State Senator Imprisoned for Campaign Fraud

Quote

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — President Donald Trump has pardoned a former Republican Tennessee lawmaker who was two weeks into a 21-month prison sentence for an illegal campaign finance scheme that he pleaded guilty to in 2022, before he tried unsuccessfully to take back his plea.

Former Sen. Brian Kelsey announced the pardon in a social media post Tuesday evening. He had been ordered to report to FCI Ashland’s minimum security satellite camp in Kentucky on Feb. 24.

Kelsey received a “full and unconditional pardon” for his case and authorities were ordered to release him from prison immediately, according to a copy of the president’s action provided by Kelsey’s attorney.

So, if that passes, a fetus wouldn't have constitutional protections until it is born.

Raise you a Yeats.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

That is uncannily on point.

In the audio, which first surfaced on TikTok, Trump can be heard saying: "It's fantastic, fantastic. He was a smart guy. You know Tesla. First the light bulb and now this. Seems like a modern day Isaac Neutron."

real?

Under their view, I guess they work since most of that shit is incorporated through the 14th DP clause which applies to persons not citizens. MAGAT’s have famously ignored thinks distinction, but I’m sure they will suddenly become a huge fan of that language.

I posted the following in the Democrat thread, but this thread has more contributors.

There are elected Democrats who I believe are working for the good of the Republic. Unlike Republicans, unless you have given up on the Constitution. Unfortunately, there are plenty of Democrats in the pocket of billionaires.

Tomorrow’s cloture vote is apparently rather critical. And,it is not surprising, but deeply disappointing, because the waters are muddying, to see that Shumer is arguing to approve cloture, To be fair, he argues that a government shutdown gives DOGE free reign, and that courts will close, and there will be no safeguards.

I, personally, don’t trust Shumer, and the Dems I do trust say that voting for cloture is what will free DOGE to completely kneecap our government. I know that any bipartisan vote that can be spinned as support of DOGE is devastating.

So, what am I missing? What say y’all? Is DOGE unaffected by a government shutdown? Are the courts?

DOGE is unaffected by any of this.  Dotard and Elmo and the entire GQP are going to keep going regardless of the courts or the legislature.  But the Dems should make this as hard as possible for them to do this.  You don't negotiate with terrorists.  And fuck Schumer for doing so.

I appreciate your response. And I wasn’t under the delusion that DOGE relies on federal funding. Rather, I wonder DOGE’s actions during a government shutdown would degrade the weight that the sanction provided by the executive carries in the eyes of the court.
