Not only did I not know that, I think reading this thread today is the first time I have thought about her in probably 10-15 years.

So yes, the literal definition of outdated reference.

Oh, look.  Dan BingoBongo must have called out Rosie for her move to Ireland so all the typical boot-lickers are lining up to spew the "party" line.  You idiots are so fucking predictable, not to mention trivially easy to manipulate.  Get fucked, fatty.

Actually, she moved to Ireland, might have announced it, and then MTG's idiot boyfriend asked the Irish PM about Rosie moving there during his meeting with dotard last week.

You’re the only one that gives a fuck. That’s the point. Didn’t know that shit and don’t give a shit. That is why it is stupid.

Why is this hard for you?

It's because he's stupid

I've armed myself to the teeth in the last 4 months, but I'm struggling convincing my parents they need to be prepared for what could be coming. Even if my family flees the country to avoid persecution, it's possible we have to fight first to have the ability to flee.

Listening to the PSA guys talk about how Schumer was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t with the shut down really drove home how fucked we might be.

Basically, if he doesn’t give in, dotard gets to shut it down and maybe not reopen it for months, while him and Elon run roughshod over everything because in a shutdown the Executive basically runs it all.  And if the Dems then came to the table to reopen, there’s no reason Rs would play ball. Because they just don’t care.

If he gives in, as he did, it shows Rs and dotard that Dems don’t have the spine to stand up to them and save them from their own stupidity. So they have zero power in any capacity and the Rs will keep doing whatever they want with little to no consequence.  We are living in a dictatorship of sorts already. This sucks.

He's just sort of trying to make it seem quasi legal now to buy time to get the military in his pocket. Once that happens, it will be full on fuck you to the courts. Including the Supreme Court. If they don't see that now, they're fucking delusional morons.

The only chance America has of defeating this threat is if the secret service and military leaders are secretly working being the scenes to neutralized trump and Vance the moment he outwardly defies the courts and presents as an imminent threat to the Constitution.

So, just saw the below on NBC news.  Is this normal?  Seems like something Putin would want but not in America’s best interest.  Go figure.

Trump admin considers giving up NATO command that has been exclusively American since Eisenhower

I don’t know how it works, but seems like we should probably be relieved of that command.

Yep, all MAGAts parrot the same stupid, unfunny, bigoted and ignorant shit they get handed down from their idiot influencers.

These headlines about the regime "considering" stuff is total bullshit. This has all been planned for a long time by the far-right gremlins Dotard has handed the GQP over to.

None of these lower court rulings matter much in the big picture. But things are way easier for cheeto dick if the supremes ultimately rubber stamp all this shit than if they actually throw the Constitution at him. I don't think he wants that smoke.

The head of European Command or U.S. Armed Forces in Europe has been dual-hatted as Supreme Allied Commander Europe for NATO since Eisenhower. The role has been a demonstration of reality (U.S. force will be the deciding factor in any conflict) and commitment to Europe’s defense. It’s not a rule SACEUR has to be American. Just how it’s done, and the civilian leadership of NATO (SecGen) is traditionally European as a demonstration that the Alliance is not an American construct or directed organization.

The proposal aims to combine European Command with African Command and tell NATO we don’t want their job anymore.

It’s basically part of the Trump effort to walk away from NATO in every way they counts and signal to Russia that we don’t care about the defense of Europe anymore.

It's been crazy seeing the reactions on the right to this stuff. "No judge can tell a president what to do!!"

Um, how long have y'all been living in America? I'm sure they would have been totally fine with that argument coming from Obama/Biden. No problems with that at all. Hell they accused Obama of wanting to be a king when he'd issue executive orders. Or when he would order lunch.

Oh, yeah, the whole Obama executive order thing. I remember that particular rant being a big one amongst the crowd that used to dominate the old CR back in the day when I dipped my toes in these waters. Obviously, that once-popular topic went away immediately in January 2017 for some reason.

For context, Trump made more executive orders annually during his first term than any president after Carter. And he issued 26 on his first day of this one.

Not to mention the fact that (as is shown on the chart above) Obama issued the FEWEST executive orders per year of any POTUS back through Nixon.  Any of us who pointed that out got total crickets in response.  The modern American right wing:  absolutely the most incurious, unthinking political demographic in our history.

A pretty large number of Biden's EOs were for no other reason than to reverse Trump's, I'd wager.

Congressional inaction and ineptitude is a real problem.  But I don't think overweening executive power is the answer.

Trump Highway going right through Austin

https://www.kxan.com/news/texas/could-i-35-in-austin-be-named-after-president-trump/

You’ve heard of Trump Tower, but what about the President Donald J. Trump Highway?

That’s the proposed designated name for Interstate 35 in Travis County, according to a new bill filed Friday by Texas Rep. Joanne Shofner (R-Nacogdoches). The bill outlines the design and construction of markets “indicating the designation as the President Donald J. Trump Highway” alongside any other existing designations.
