In case you didn't know, this is the genius who replaced Liz Cheney.

These voters were told that Kamala was for “they/them” - and that Trump was for these voters. What we’re witnessing is their shock and surprise at finding out that they’re they/them too.

I laughed every time I saw/heard one of those commercials. Imagine being so fucking stupid that you think Donald Trump is "for you". He's barely even interested in his own family.

You laugh, but those commercials absolutely had a serious, measurable impact and really halted Kamala's momentum down the stretch.

Because America is that fucking stupid.

Goddammit.  And I knew it, too, while seeing them.  I harbored some faint hope that people would see through it, but no.

Yep. First time I saw one, I audibly uttered, "Fuuuuck." A brilliant commercial/message. Hateful, manipulative, dishonest, transparent as fuck...but absolutely brilliant for the intended audience in 2024.

Yuuuup.  Damn.  They were also cagey as fuck, the hatefulness was just barely concealed beneath the surface of the ads.  Not you and too liberal.

Trump is making the Kennedy Center unwoke by bringing on the flamboyantly day Ric Grennell to stage performances of Cats and do interior design.

I bet he’d have a different opinion if he went to see the The Amazing Alexander!

Now instead of paying up front you can park that $40 in SPY and lose 8% a month!

True.  The only crime you can’t accuse him of is inauthenticity.  Impossible to imagine any other chud GOP figure loudly proclaiming how much he loves musical theatre.  He’s rewarded it.  Sometimes I just sit in awe of it.

I have to assume the Cinnabon was $17.50

MAGA customer told me today that she fears we may be heading to recession “because Trump inherited such a bad economy and he’s only doing what he thinks is right for this nation, but it may be too late.”  It takes so much energy to not tell her she’s a fucking moron.

Who the fuck says that?  I’m not doubting you. Well maybe a little. If I voted for him, it would’ve been a hold your nose kind of deal. Anyone saying that shit is looking for a reaction. I don’t get people who insist on pushing their politics onto others.

A lot of people(read:idiots) think the Biden economy hitting all time highs every other day for months was an epic failure. Cuz ‘flation and eggs.

There is no Biden economy. There’s just the economy. Trump is much more “proactive” but he’s exacerbating or hastening a recession that would’ve inevitably come.  The Fed’s actions are much more important, tariff wars excluded. People are morons.

The only reason to mention that as Biff framed was to show who you are in effort to get positive affirmation or engage in conflict. I don’t understand this notion. It is loud behavior.

He has. He just likes to pretend they’re not that bad/no big deal.
It’s a lie, but it’s one he likes.

I think the Park Cities country club set still abides by the general notions of don't discuss politics or religion in polite company.  That, together with the assumption that if you're wealthy you're with em probably means it doesn't get brought up much.

And even if racism has been rampant in that area forever, there's still some shame in it, and, again, doesn't get explicitly referenced.

It's really the grievance/blame culture that makes the super-culty un-self-aware Trumpers, and they're mostly poor idiots.  The Park Cities set is more "muh taxes" than any grievance.

It's akin to his expressions of disbelief from those, such as myself, who grew up in rural fundagelical families. Many of us have patiently explained to that stubborn donkey about all the kooky shit we grew up having to hear, but Rex is a hard-headed asshole who I strongly suspect had quite a financially privileged upbringing.

Oh, he'll tell you he frequently travels to the Permian Basin or SE Texas to work on deals, and so, therefore, he’s "in touch" with salt-of-the-earth, red-blooded Texans. He'll say he's *shocked* or feign disbelief by the stories we, the people actually from those places, tell about our own personal experiences.

I suppose I can thank spending my formative years for exposing me to uncut christofascism at an early age.

To tell the God's honest truth, I'm torn on Rex. He engages in conversations at times, but more often than not, he acts like an obnoxious and obstinate prick. I'm just not sure if he really leads such a sheltered life or if he's simply a contrarian cunt.
