We pay a shit ton for MIL's assisted living and her SS check defrays some of it.  I am going to be one pissed off motherfucker if they skip a check and I bet everyone else at the assisted living will be too, or their family.

It's worse than assisted living. A good chunk of the people that still "need" to go to the bank everyday are older people getting SSA deposits. The vast majority of our in person transaction occur on the 1st, 3rd, 3rd Wednesday, and any other day where Social Security hits. A much larger % than you would imagine are living paycheck to paycheck on those deposits. We'd have the largest car lot in town, full of repos, if a cut or freeze lasted more than 2 months.

Oh I know.  And a lot of those fuckos are Trumpkins.  But they're off everyone else's radar, except maybe the family that's abandoned them to their social security.

And you know who pays zero taxes, much of the time @fattyflattie?  Fuckin olds that's who.

But there are a lot of upper-middlers whose ox would get gored by that.

And I'm gonna guess that if payments were skipped or delayed on a widespread basis, the assisted living would have to make some accomodations for late rent.

Was the Trump hat/shirt/pant combo that gave it away? Or was it the fact that we had to move a 25-year-old girl to the back because they stare, drool, and generally creep people the fuck out.

I could maybe help you out by turning some of that unwanted inventory back to liquidity.  If the price is right.

I'll take "what is the perfect thing to say if you want to guarantee that NOBODY will buy your new weapons platform?" for $500.

And, that has the twin bonus effects of 1) making our per-jet cost skyrocket (because the fixed development and ramp-up costs will be applied to fewer units) and 2) making Boeing execs - who REALLY needed a financial win -- tear their fucking hair out.  "Hey, congrats Boeing -- you just won the right to build something that you won't be able to sell to anyone else, thus torpedoing a major avenue for revenue and profit."

The “F-47” part of NGAD is supposed to be the spiritual successor to the F-22 which is a platform we never made export available.  It’s kind of a shock actually that we’d consider making even a “souped” down version available for export.  The B-21 won’t be.

But it is saying the quiet part out loud.  We don’t give all the cool stuff with the F-35 to all export customers.

Well, we heard about it in 1959, when the F4 exceeded Mach 2.5.  And again in 1967 on the bomber front with the F111.  And then again in 1969 with the F14. Still again in 1974 with the F16.  And yet again in 1985 with the F-15.

So, yeah, not that often.  If you are a military aviation ignoramus.

But Trump didn’t hear about it that often.

Highly recommend watching the video. It’s fun to watch when we get a bored, soggy brained Trump who has to talk about things like weapons procurement that bore him and he doesn’t understand. He rambles a bit and tries to get excited, making sure to mention that the whole airplane has power the likes of which we’ve never seen, and is of course at a level higher than any other level.  But he just can’t fake it. He does not care about this and you can’t make him care.

Reading the quotes about putting on “Cats” and redecorating the Kennedy Center, you know they got the excited, manic, hype-man Trump.  You just won’t get that if if the topic isn’t celebrity gossip or sharks.

CNN wrote an article about how Marco is being upstaged and jealous of Witkoff (who gets to do the real negotiations and is the real boss). Marco denied it and then Witkoff went on to RT and tell little Marco he’s doing a good job. Lulz.

Few weeks back, I contacted my banker.  Mom has a really, really small loan against her house through his bank (something like $400 a month, as I recall).  Mom has her SS, and a small pension set aside as well as her income.  She makes all her payments on time, etc.

I let him know that I just had a feeling that something might happen to SS down the road, and to call me before sending her a late notice on the loan.  I know mom, and she would never ask me for a dime. But there's no way in hell I'm going to let that loan fall a month behind.

What a petty small dicked man we have in the Oval Office

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/21/politics/security-clearances-trump-harris-clinton/index.html

Trump rescinds security clearances of political rivals Harris, Clinton and others

Spoiler

President Donald Trump, in a late-night Friday memo, directed federal agencies to revoke security clearances for more than a dozen of his perceived political enemies, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information” Trump said in the memo. “I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information.”

The memo applies to classified briefings and any access the individuals might have had to classified information based on previous tenure in Congress.

The move marks the latest instance of Trump pulling security clearances from political rivals, after the president in February said he was “immediately” revoking former President Joe Biden’s security clearance and stopping his daily intelligence briefing. He has also used similar rescissions to crackdown on top law firms.

Friday’s memo formalized the revocation of Biden’s security clearance, along with several others who the Trump administration has previously said it removed clearances from, and went on to block the former president’s family’s access to classified information – assuming they had any.

In addition to his Democratic rivals in the 2016 and 2024 election, Trump also revoked clearances from the two Republicans on the House committee that investigated his role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection, former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney and former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger.

Earlier this month Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said that in accordance with a directive from Trump, she had revoked the security clearances of a number of the people named in Friday’s memo, including top Biden officials, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, as well as two of the attorneys who brought legal cases against Trump: New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

In another late-night memo on Friday, Trump revisited past grudges against lawyers who have opposed him and vowed to punish lawyers and law firms by rescinding security clearances and canceling federal contracts they hold.

He directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to review the conduct of lawyers and law firms the administration considers to have filed frivolous lawsuits against the Trump administration or attempted to block immigration initiatives, broadening the president’s crackdown on the US legal community in the United States.
