Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it true that when Trump was in the WH for his first two years and the GOP held both the House and Senate, the number of immigration reform legislations they sent to his desk was not greater than zero?

They didn't have time for immigration reform because they were 100% bandwidth occupied crafting a big beautiful healthcare system where insurance cost like $12/yr. Everyone was talking about how great that replacement for Obamacare was. Im sure big burly  men still approach Trump with tears in their eyes, just to thank him for his $12 health insurance plan.

lol checked FB and all the trumpets are posting “we shouldn’t lose friends over politics” when that’s exactly what they did the last 4 years

They're also the ones who couldn't get enough of ranting about how Biden etc. is "so divisive!  The divider in chief!"....as they proceed to engage in a fucking orgy of "fuck your feelings" and "I enjoy all the liberal tears."

Anyone who even mutters the BEGINNING of the thought that Trump will act to unify the country and be a president to all Americans should have their mouth glued shut for eternity.  He told us what he was going to do, and who he was going to do it TO.

Many of us are not "real Americans," or we're "vermin," or somesuch, and he said it plainly -- he's not going to govern for all of us.  He's coming to get us, and exact pain and retribution.

Trumpers don't believe "we shouldn't lose friends over politics."  What they believe is that we should take our beatings, abuse, and violations with a smile on our face, so as to not make them uncomfortable.

Every four years I have to do a little purge on fb. Always randos that I kinda knew in HS that still live in that shitty town and work at the tire shop or something. You know, the people who understand economics and social issues the best.

like the cowardly pieces of shit you so adore, you completely skate around the fact that they love a racist GOP. You do this because you  believe the same things those racist GOP idiots believe.

You think it’s more important not to call out racists supporting  racists because it makes them feel bad. You think it’s more important not to call out stupid people for being stupid because it makes them feel bad.

You think these things are more important than not being stupid and not being racist.   and this is where we disagree.  here is a tip; they did not vote for Trump because they felt that the mean liberals called them a name or thought they were stupid. They voted for Trump because they are stupid - and because they really love them some racism and some sexism and some homophobia.

Own it - or explain why supporting racists is not supporting racism.

So you missed the whole part where I said I hate Trump and never voted for him?  But great post bud.  Maybe go outside and take a deep breath and go for a walk.

Mine are all gleefully giddy about how fucking stupid they are.  It's a bunch of Christians reveling in the tears of people who are literally afraid of what their government is about to do to them.  Families are gonna get ripped apart; mothers and fathers are gonna be sent home while their American-by-birth kids go into the foster system.  And the Christians hoot and holler.  It's fucking grotesque.

I'm not going to hand wring every policy they pass and thing they try to do for now. They won the EC, majority vote, Senate, and House. Let's give the majority what they think they want. That's democracy, right?

Obviously, I'm skeptical of any operation run by the incompetency of Trump and the loyalist sycophants he'll no doubt surround himself with, but who knows. Have at it for two years.

Merrick Garland is winding down the DOJ's prosecutions of Trump. Spineless til the fucking end.

These were serious, serious charges. The property value thing? The classified documents one? The hush money where they had to tie it with 9 others things to make it a crime? This is BS if they drop those charges.

What about the Georgia thing? He asked for 11k on a call. And now they gave him an extra 150k votes.

This won’t stand. Schiff is going to actually release the evidence now.

Y'all might as well keep receipts. It won't matter, but when they're pretending to be shocked by the horrors he unleashes it might feel good for five seconds to remind them how ecstatic they were to elect him.

Agreed on the spineless adjective, but isn't this better than handing off the case documents to Trump's DOJ?  Or am I misguided and they'll get their hands on everything either way?

No. They should make Trump quash the prosecutions himself.

Yeah they get to do whatever they want. And I think that's good. it always annoys me how in our system one can win an election but not actually have the power to do anything.

Trump has a mandate. He could theoretically reshape the whole system. Let's see what he does.

But I am going to do my best to ignore everything, at least until it comes time to vote again. Then I will go back and check out the carnage. I don't want to do 2017-2020 again where every week was another piece of BS to fret about.

So 71 million people are racist….   This is a dumbass take, like I said it’s the loud minority you hear.  but keep thinking like that and calling them all names and see where that gets you next time.

There’s a lot of reason people vote.  I’d hope a big portion that voted for Trump don’t actually like him but didn’t want the alternative more.  And no I’m not saying that’s right either but that’s how it is.

No, it's not that they are racists.  They are selfish and only in this for themselves and vote according to who they think gives them the clearest path to the life they feel they deserve.  Unfortunately, that path often collides with others' paths.  Say southern white slave owner vs slave.    They feel since they are white like the founding fathers were, that they are first class citizens and all others somewhere a step below, including women.  It has much less to do with race than it does with their standard that "it's me over we.  I got mine, fuck you."

History has is full of instances where white males went into the world and improved their physical wealth on the premise of Might over Right.  Or I guess it could be White over Right.   And too often cloaked it as some religious mission like the Crusades or Cortez.

This has a lot more to do with the darkness of a person's heart instead of the darkness of their skin.

Absolutely this.

I'm on record as saying that the first time I hear anyone say anything like, "I never would have voted for him if I'd known it was gonna be like this," I'm gonna need to be physically restrained.

He was very clear about what he's going to do.  If you weren't listening, you shouldn't have fucking voted.

And just anybody in that neighborhood. They angered the empire.

Trump needs to focus on pardoning all the January 6 political prisoners.

First order of business.

I guess breaking the law only counts if it is people you don't like? If people you do like break the law and get prosecuted it is obviously corrupt? Alright.

But hey he can pardon them, perfectly legal, so go ahead.

There is a scenario, I'd say even likely, that Ukraine could largely keep a stalemate for the next 2 years.  There could even be the possibility of only recoverable territory by election day 2028 depending on how the Russians can recruit and improve the quality of their troops.  But it's going to be very very grim.

That’s not the majority though and that’s part of the problem!  Everyone is literally labeling them because of the loud minority portion and then calling anyone who votes republican names ect.  That’s part of the problem.  I think it’s dumb as shit to vote for Trump because I think he’s a horrible person but a lot of these people feel more insulted by the Democratic Party because of exactly what you and other say about them non stop these days and in the media.

It is simply a fact that supporting the advancement of ideas, policies, and actions thru ones vote or own deeds, that have a meaningful disparate and negative impact across classes and ethnic groups of society, is part and parcel of the systemic racism abounding in society, and the vote itself is a racist act.  Of course telling the truth sounds like “looking down”.

This is one thing I’m comforted by. After all this time, they still only have concepts of plans. The republicans won’t even be able to agree on what to prioritize. Even if they get the house too, they pass maybe 1 piece of legislation before they lose a branch in 2026. They’d fucking BETTER address the border, right? They won’t. They’d lose their wedge issue. You’ll get executive orders and dysfunction and you’ll blame the RINOs and minority Dems.

Politics aside, about once a month I look at my FB friends and play a mental game. If they are not somebody I would be genuinely happy to see in person, or would walk across the street to say hello to, in person, I unfriend them and move on. Simplifies everything.
