Trump likely believes HIV is a gay and/or black people problem. Aid to gays and blacks is inconsistent with his priorities so it has to go.

More likely- reports saying if review of web material was too voluminous to get through by 5p today then it came down

I've actually met more than one person who thinks HIV can only be contracted by gay people. Mind bottling.

Motherfucker what the fuck are you talking about? Do you think Kash Patel works for fucking truth social?

Motherfucker, what do you think "setting the persons aside" means?

Sometimes I think you don't read very carefully.  My post quietly shat on corporations, director compensation practices, and Trump world in particular.

Also, apparently the grants, although not options, were restricted.  Probably restricted so they don't dump all their shares at once and tank the stock price, not for any semi-legitimate shareholder compensation reason.

It's a fucky transaction any way you slice it.

There is simply no way that a political party, administration and president can do this much damage and be this stupid and evil without there being some serious, serious consequences.  It's just a matter of time. And I'm not talking about all the people they are hurting and killing.

I don't mess with Gen-Z anymore, my girlfriend is a millennial. We went out for Italian food tonight and despite our decision not to discuss politics we ended up bitching about the insanity.

Long story short, I had spinach and gorginzola ravioli with a salad, had a mutual bitch fest about Trump then finished the evening with sex and drove home.

Every day it becomes a little clearer to me that the only way out of all of this will involve quite a bit of bloodshed.

That's why we're not getting out of this. We're not the Founding Fathers or the Valley Forge type. We're mostly fat and happy and oblivious without enough understanding of how the republic was designed to be bothered to take action so long as the programs stream and advertising tells us what's important.

It may be a good thing that the major news outlets be forced to use their legs to get stories rather than sitting around on their asses getting competing quotes.

Remember how their panels and editorial pages didn't talk much about Christian Nationalism (ooie ooie, religion!) or speak precisely about the scumbag that got re-elected? We did get a lot of man-on-street from Iowa, though. That was pretty cool.

The Brit responses to the helicopter drivel posted above were excellent. This just made me laugh:

Trump will spin this in that her family is embarrassed that she was a DEI hire, and directly refer to her as the unnamed DEI hire. Or he will just use her name.

My biggest disappointment is that I will never live to see a full throated no fucks given response by a gloves off Democratic party, even if we ever have have another  national election.  It will be “we need to go back to decorum and have Liz Cheney as secretary of defense so we can heal” type response. Just once before I die  I want to see the Pubs get a taste of their medicine.  Oh well.

Who gives a shit about words?  Even Lincoln said "With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as god gives us to see the right...

Of course, he had overseen the eradication of around 250-300K traitors to the Union by that point.

It's really fairly astonishing that the GOP has managed to so completely vilify an agency whose mission is to protect consumers from rapacious corporate practices.  I mean, it's right there in the name.

One can certainly understand why the robber barons hate it, but somehow they have convinced their victims to hate it too.

Mind bottling.

Yeah I get what you’re saying but unless you’re the 1% of the 1% the Pubs are definitely getting a taste of something more rancid than the Dems could ever provide.  Sure most won’t ever admit it and maybe they don’t even know it, but their lives are gonna be significantly worse and that may not be much, but it should provide some solace.

It's really not all that surprising when you realize the Republican Party's raison d'être is to help the rich. Their faux populism and culture war bullshit mask the real goal of siphoning money from people who need it to those who don't.

Same battlecry as the anti-union crowd. "They raise your prices!"

Keep your voting base poor, so they can barely afford to exist. Maintain economic control over their mind.

Blame the entity that actually tries to protect them, or the one that does not affect them at all.

Facebook(Meta) is doing very little in two keys areas, helping to protect against the above for cryptocurrency and child exploitation on Instagram.
Inside the war on child exploitation | Cybernews

In this American era, fostering and protecting fraud and grift is a feature, not a bug.
“Other people” are just a target from which wealth can be extracted, by any and all means. There is no moral or ethical code that overrides it: obtaining wealth is proof that whatever you did was actually good, because there is no “good” other than “accumulate wealth and power.”
How do you know if a man is good and should be admired? It’s simple: is he wealthy? Then he is good.
