Why wouldn't Kamala be capable of giving a prepared speech to an international audience? She has done it far more than Vance, likely in the range of 25 times. Here is her successful speech in Munich, 2023.

It's a good contrast of content and delivery. Thanks for posting.

If we survive as a country it will be an absolute miracle. And I don't mean in four years. I mean like by June.

We will survive. And then like with the confederacy, we will have to pretend the South wasn’t full of traitors.

impeach this dumb ass ...

Trump is now considering paving over Jackie Kennedy’s White House Rose Garden with cement to make it look more like Mar-a-Lago.

A White House official said it is “necessary” because it will “restore” the “glory” of the White House.

I found myself at a pool side bar in Playa back in October 2016 with a group of probably mid 40s Germans and another group of late 20s early 30s professional guys from Monterrey (they were there for a bachelor party....they were a lot of fun). Both groups thought we were going batshit crazy back then for even considering Donald Trump and that was a few weeks BEFORE his first election.

I talk to people from all over the world and the ones that ask about our politicians will have a similarly worded question for me 98 percent of the time. What has happened to America? How can you elect these people? I just tell them they did not get my vote and that we aren’t all like this.

Right wingers couldn't trust media because Fox News told them that all other media, the so-called liberal media, was lying to them.

Then they convinced people that liberals were "the intellectual elite."  They convinced the uneducated that being educated was actually a bad thing, which didn't take much of a push.

So, liberals are liars, intellectuals are liberals and therefore liars, and therefore you can't trust any expert on anything.  You can only come here for the truth.  We're Fair and Balanced.

From that point on, the truth for half of this country has been whatever Fox News wanted it to be.

And the soccer moms on Facebook who did their research on the shitter that morning confirm the bullshit to their echo chambers.  Everybody feels good, and validated, and part of the in-group, and see, those other people are idiots for going to college because we ended up smarter than them anyway.

And now this mob of well-armed idiots is so well-conditioned and intellectually malleable that the bad guys really shouldn't have to worry about any election for the next generation.  Maybe ever.  Hell, Joe Rogan has the younger generation on board already.

I don't see how this shit is fixable.  At all.  I think we're all going to be old men and women someday lamenting what this country once was, most of us from abroad.

Real-world pain, suffering and maybe even blood will get people out of their media-induced hallucinations.  But it will have to work itself pretty far up the net worth curve.

I have never heard of these Facebook pages but meta is clearly fucking with their algorithms to drive interactions. Seeing a lot of right wing bs too all of the sudden. Have to dig through a load of shit just to see my friends and families post. I cut out Twitter, Instagram and threads because I had no family connections on it. I only keep Facebook because I do have family connections. However, they seem to rarely post now. Or, I have to fight Facebook to let me see my feed that is only family, which defaults to "all caught up" even when I haven't been on Facebook in a week. Have to reload it every time to see what I actually missed.

The people with the money and power are removing anything that made America exceptional as quickly as they can in order to create a dumber populace to control.  They don’t want innovation or new and better ideas because that’s how fortunes are won, at the expense of the current fortune holders.
And the people that puff their chests out the most about American exceptionalism are the ones merrily going along with it because it’s already working.

OH INDEED.
That reeks of FAFO. As many of us have warned, when you opt out of the rule of law, you NECESSARILY opt into the rule of the gun.
Told yall this ends in blood. All over the place. Once you set that sequence in motion, you can’t control where all it goes.

There is literally nothing from this administration that Ana won't fellate.  Pretty interesting to watch, in a car-crash kinda way.
Yeah, I always thought he was the "both sides suck" contrarian guy. I guess it was just a cover.

You have to actively search for all but a few of them - I mean go to the magnifying glass icon, type their name, press enter - to see their updates. It’s all trash now.

Alt National Park Service exploded because they are good, factual place to get some insight on what is going on inside federal agencies from the inside.  Same reason fednews exploded on Reddit.  It’s actually the algorithm working as it should, organic traffic to the page boosting its visibility.

I used to have this stupid bit I would do, that was like "This just makes me so mad, because it only reminds me of the time Obama did ______". I don't find it particularly funny anymore.

Buuuuut.... just think. The same people who are totally cool with this above, and everything else, are the same people who were enraged that Obama walked off Air Force One holding a cup of coffee. And that he took a selfie in the Oval Office. I mean obviously they were totally full of shit and didn't really care, but it's still amazing.

it is amazing how many people think that everything that President Huff and Puff does is the best thing ever. Blind leading the blind (well actually more like the ignorant leading the ignorant, but you catch my drift)

But again, this Roberts court basically unleashed Mr. MAGA by ruling on Presidential immunity.

If you look at Facebook on a Chrome browser, there’s an add-in called Social Fixer. You can block all Suggestions and Advertisements from your feed. Once I found that setting, I realized 95% of my feed was unwanted bullshit and basically no one I know posts any longer.

RE: Fox News and the influence it has.

Earlier today, the kids and I ate at a small diner outside of town.  They had a pair of TV's on broadcasting Fox, on mute---with the captioning turned on.

A segment on egg prices was played, and the chyron on the screen correctly stated it was because of bird flu, but the 3 people they interviewed on the segment (all some government official) clearly blamed the problem not on bird flu, but Biden policies that did not prevent bird flu.  One person claimed the reason this was such a bad deal now is because the Biden admin slaughtered all these chickens.

So, yeah----this is what is being fed to the populace.  In 2024, it was Biden's fault egg prices were high.  In 2025, it's bird flu, but the bird flu is Biden's fault.
