The White House just announced that, after many decades, the White House Correspondents' Association will no longer be in control of the presidential media pool and that the administration will now determine which journalists get access to media avails.  So be prepared for a swath of actual fact-based legacy media to lose access.

Good thing the Orange Asshole hired the completely qualified guy from...checks notes...The Real World: Boston to handle transportation issues.  Seems to be going awesome!

This morning at Chicago Midway:

I'm not one to defend the admin in ANY way, but I read a long thread with a bunch of pilot comments.  Their consensus was that this was a runway incursion by the small Challenger (who likely got a hold-in-place from the tower and kept going anyway), and the 737 pilot did exactly what he/she was trained to do and immediately lifted back up.  Unless we hear otherwise, this was not likely a result of FAA staffing, etc.

Until we see at least a slow down of aviation incidents from the last month or so, I'm going to keep pointing at the Orange Asshole and his Band of Unqualified Fucksticks every single time.

reddit drivers say atc told the challenger to hold short & it obviously didn't

that said commercial traffic should stand down at midway, hobby, national & yes laguardia

all 3 were built within their current footprint in the 30s & 40s

this shit also happens all the time at logan and sfo - as an adult i've experienced a rejected takeoff at logan and 2 go-arounds at sfo - also a go-around at moisant as a kid - all due to traffic conflict

sfo has 2 sets of parallel runways but still does runway roulette with interlaced takeoffs and landings; jfk,, logan and moisant all have perpendicular main runways and it's a miracle we haven't had a tenerife at any of the above mentioned fields

it's convenient but not true

unfortunately elmo owns the best internet constellation and we need to use it to pull forward our airspace tech by 50 years

Obama said a week or two after the election something like "America just showed that it's not really concerned with preserving democracy." I think they're all kind of in "Hey, this is what you voted for. Let's see how bad it gets" mode.

Yep, all attacking him does is feed his base energy. They need to wallow in their slop and deal with it.

If they can blame hurricanes on Jewish Space Lasers, we can blame air incidents on dotard and his band of penis wrinkles.

i did a parallel landing at SFO with a 777 and it was wild.

Also, DCA is now holding all traffic when trump is on Marine One. They were diverting planes the other day and AMerican Regionals are carrying extra fuel so they can circle in a delay.

That will help suppress fares. At least jet fuel costs were cut in half along with all the refined oil fuels as Trump promised.

I'm guessing the firing of veterans and the siding with Russia against Ukraine.

dfw regularly does 5-across in good weather

the sfo parallels are very close together - yes - quite wacky if you're not used to it or not expecting it

4300' of separation between runway center lines allows parallel operations without any sort of waiver. SFO is the main exception.

Hey mods, can we get a name change for the Nazi behind this account?

Like i said. When your party is so out of touch and lost that they couldn’t get together and pick someone better than Kamala. You didn’t even get to choose your Democratic candidate. Trump was so bad and shitty. Should have been easy to find someone to beat him. CRY HARDER.

So, this is fun.  Seems like we are going to get some of the shittiest people in the world to be American citizens thanks to shit like this.

Trump to Offer ‘Gold Card’ Visas for $5 Million to the Rich (1)

Summary by Bloomberg AI
  • President Donald Trump announced a program to offer residency and a path to citizenship to investors who pay $5 million, dubbed the "gold card", which will launch in two weeks.
  • The program would give investors "green card privileges" and could replace the existing EB-5 program, which allows immigrant investors to acquire green cards by investing in a US business.
  • Trump stated that the program would allow investors to pay $5 million to the US government, bypassing vetting, and the funds would be used to reduce the deficit.

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump said he is starting a program to offer residency and a path to citizenship to investors who pay $5 million, offering a new avenue for legal immigration even as he carries out a sweeping crackdown on undocumented migrants.

Trump said the program, dubbed the “gold card,” would launch in two weeks, adding that he did not believe his administration needed to secure approval from Congress. The full scope of the plan and how it would be implemented was not immediately clear.

“We’re going to be selling a gold card,” Trump said Tuesday in the Oval Office as he signed executive orders alongside Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick

“We’re going to be putting a price on that card of about $5 million, and that’s going to give you green card privileges,” he added, referencing the permits currently issued to US permanent residents.

Lutnick said the move could replace the existing EB-5 program, which allows immigrant investors to acquire green cards by investing a certain amount toward a business in the US.

Asked by a reporter if participants would need to invest a certain amount of money to qualify for a gold card, Lutnick responded “yeah, exactly” but suggested that funds for the visa might be paid directly to the government.

“The president said rather than having this sort of ridiculous EB-5 program, we’re going to end the EB-5 program. We’re going to replace it with the Trump gold card, which is really a green card gold so they’ll be able to pay $5 million to the US government not to go through vetting, of course, going to make sure they are wonderful world class, global citizens.”

“They can come to America. The president can give them a green card, and they can invest in America, and we can use that money to reduce our deficit,” he added.

Trump has said he wants to keep pathways open for legal immigration to the US even as he carries out what he touted on the campaign trail as the largest deportation of undocumented migrants in the country’s history.

Trump has moved to ramp up deportations and secure the US southern border during his second term, including threatening Canada and Mexico with tariffs if they do not do more to stem the flow of fentanyl, other illegal drugs and people into the US.

any and all fuckups and disasters are the result of Trump, his stooges, and DOGE until further notice.  We need to drown out the DEI  blame

So Trump is now openly selling visas to immigrants that give him a $5 million bribe?
