I bet if McDonald's started saying Big Macs help you lose weight 60% of Americans would start eating multiple Big Macs a day.

Of course, Nancy Mace posted a video saying “we will not let them steal the election from turnip” when not one person was talking like that from the dem side.

No Democrat voted to object.   That was by design of Party leadership.

As for Republican's affinity for running up huge tax bills, it's like private equity has come to D.C.

The Democrats can basically sit back and watch for the next year and then campaign on every single fuck up by the GOP - assuming we still have elections.

Yeah, I think it’s cute some people think we will.
If we do, they will be so manipulated by disinformation they are essentially rigged.

This.

And of course we'll have elections.

They passed legislation to make any nonsense on certification day less likely, including objections to electors

Is Greenland a fucking pet bunny? What the fuck.

This is legit deplorable behavior, Denmark is a treaty ally (and one of our most reliable and capable that deploys with us—and fights— everywhere). Truly unhinged and we have Real Serious NatSec dipshits writing articles about why we should think about it.

Yeah. I knew some of their guys in Helmand. Were also very active in Bosnia.

I wanted this guy to show up though.

I tried running the old "soft invasion" on my neighbor once... Well, the soft part wasn't intentional, but it really does happen to guys sometimes and she said it "wasn't a big deal".

(which... now that I think about it... was both accurate and hurtful)

Come visit beautiful Greenland. Home of palm trees, sandy beaches and clear skies. Bring your whole extended family and stay awhile!

I know a guy in an air national guard wing that practices landing C130s on skis in Greenland for missions to Antarctica. Other than that, what is the strategic value of Greenland? Does he think we're searching for the northwest passage still?

Strategic? You think turnip knows strategy?

He’s doing what Putin tells him to do which is stupid shit like buy countries.

Probably a lot of mineral wealth up there, just a pesky ice sheet in the way that we would have to wait a few years to melt before we can start extracting...

Hey now, melting the ice sheet will be necessary eventually when we run out of uncontaminated water to drink.  Gotta plan for the future in case there is one.

Sounds like a way to passively lose. But by golly we'll be right.

Greenland is going to be even more strategic going forward, he’s not wrong on that he’s just completely immoral for trying to grab it from a friend.  The jokes about melting sea ice are closer to the truth— we are getting really close to having almost ice free summers. The Russians are investing heavily in icebreakers in an attempt to make sure the Arctic is their turf.  The PRC is demanding to be allowed into the Arctic Council as a “near arctic nation.”

The high north is going to be valuable from resources to geography and that’s largely due to global warming.

P.S. I’ve never been to Greenland and can’t find it on a map. Don,Jr. says it’s really awesome.

They are going to be shocked when they learn how small it actually is.

As if social media isn't crazy enough.

In the grand scheme of things it's probably a good thing. I'd much rather people assume something on social media is fake rather than have a belief everything has been "fact checked" when that was an impossible task to begin with and has only gotten worse with the expansion of AI.  It will get much closer to water cooler talk where the person telling you the information means as much as the information itself.

Most things in the world I don't know inside out, but what I do know, when I check AI, at least half of the time it's wrong.

Exactly, but often it takes an expert to know and because it can generate some many versions of it so quickly, it's like swatting flies with a toothpick. Just no way to keep up.

I never think that. I do agree that they can't come up with any ideas, because of how they think. There's no scrap in them.

Assuming Republicans don't get rid of it, the filibuster is always an option in the Senate.
