Unless his Dad is an overweight, late 30s, white guy then UTboy is not Johntay's dad. There was a TX/OU game either last year or this year where UTboy showed up to coffee and football or their afternoon show on camera. Bobby and Gerry where broadcasting outside of somewhere (barbecue place) and Gerry shouted him out and asked him to come wave to the camera.

On wow. Appreciate you finding that. He seems to have just disappeared after Johntay was kicked off team,so I was trying to put two and two togethe; but.man, it's still so weirdi haven't seen him.

Although., another posted posited that he could have changed his name since people were piling on about him complaining how much he's spent just to get os questions answered in front t of everyone, which seems stupid. It makes me scratch my was why anyone would pay for that when they could get Burnt Endz or Tree Fiddy. Some serious dumb people. Makes me think of that Carlin joke about the population

And some of y'all said Johntay wasn't fast: 😃

Ex-Texas WR Johntay Cook, Washington football part ways after 48 hours with program

Johntay Cook's time with Washington did not last long as he is no longer part of the program. Read the story here.

Sorry, dawg, but I made that joke like 2-3 days ago. But it's still worth the laugh seeing we both share the same feeling the dude lol

As a child from DeSoto, I hope that Johntay can find the space to “right his ship.” Maybe a step down to a smaller school with less exposure will help, then he can portal to a Big Program for a year, prior to trying to go to The League. Wish him the clarity that he needs right now. No need to **** on him.

My Father was the FB HC/Athletic Director at DeSoto from 70-83. I was born in 70, so yes I grew up there prior to DISD blowing up in the mid-late 80s, forcing a lot of families to find residence in the suburbs.

Back in the day (late 70s-early 80’s) there was vacant grass/farmland just to the West of the new HS. Me and my buddies would bird hunt with pellet guns. Grand times were had until one day a prize of our haul was a Mockingbird. We got our asses scolded by my Dad, as that was the State Bird. All we knew was see bird-shoot bird. He made us bury it in our back yard. Probably 9-10 yr old at the time.

This poor fucker. Reminds me of Johnny Foosball masking up and heading to Vegas at season's end, intentionally blowing off a team meeting which had a two million dollar price tag on it. Still can't believe an Agent with a 10% cut on the line wouldn't have a full-time PI on his ass 24/7.

It may continue to be mildly interesting in the Johntay sweepstakes - he hasn't done shit, so far, except drop wide-open TD passes and fuck with his teammates and coaches.

It's tempting to write him off as just another physically gifted, mentally challenged asshole... yeah, that's the Ticket. I have a feeling the last word on Johntay won't be too long in coming. Pretty much expecting him to get shot by a Pakistani convenience store owner at 2AM.

Rocking some threads. He needs to chill w/ the promotion stuff right 'til he gets his life in order, or he's wasting the outreach.

I don't think SMU is taking any problem children to speak of.  They're back pretty close to big-time now.  TCU, maybe.

Hell, at this point, EMCC is questionable.

I don't see how either of those programs would touch him at this point, unless it would be some form of preferred walk-on status.

And as we have seen many times, being back home is often a recipe for disaster, as a player falls back in with his old crew, who often don't have your best interests in mind when they talk you into doing something stupid.

SMU is probably not the best landing spot for someone with a coke habit looking to get straight.

You are most likely correct. I did like that series on Netflix - Last Chance U or something like that.

Yeah season one was really great. So were some of the following seasons. The same producers also did the amazing Cheer show, which was also terrific and in my mind, even more compelling.

If I were an Agent-type with some investment bucks, I believe I'd see about getting this guy into a rehab situation where he could straighten up and come out with a shot at a decent team.

I'd drop him as a client and find someone I could actually market

Reminds me of the agent for Maurice Clarett, who worked so hard to get him a tryout for the Denver Broncos. It was over before it began.

"Clarett turned out to be unimpressive in the Denver Broncos' preseason training camp. As Clarett had not played a game in two years or practiced in over a year, he entered training camp weighing 248 pounds, more than 20 pounds overweight. He was also slow to recover from an injury.

Despite his unimpressive training camp, Clarett signed a four-year contract on July 28, 2005, with the Broncos in which he gave up $413,000 of guaranteed money in order to secure an incentive-laden deal. Clarett signed this deal against the advice of his former agents, Steve Feldman and Josh Luchs. Clarett's motivation was to replace the proposed deal with a package that would pay him first-round money if he rushed for 1,000 yards in multiple seasons.

However, after further disappointments and incidents with his coaches and never playing a preseason game, Clarett was released on waivers on August 28, 2005, only a month after signing a contract and before playing a down in the NFL. As is standard procedure in the NFL, for a 24-hour period after his release, other teams could have claimed him and taken on his contract. After that 24-hour period, Clarett was freed from his contract and able to negotiate with any team, but no team expressed interest.[20]"

Following the Broncos disaster, Clarett was arrested and went to prison for armed robbery. Since then, he has totally turned his life around and is even a board member for the Youngstown Chamber of Commerce.

So it is a known drug issue?  I have not seen this yet or I forgot.  Getting kicked off a team in WA state for drug use is probably hard to do.

In the early 2000s LSU kicked Cecil Collins (RB) off their team, even though he lit up the TV screen his Freshman season. It was too much smoking pot or etc. Saban told him to hit the road so he landed a McNeese.

Dude arrived on campus driving a huge Cadillac. Anyways two-three weeks into the season, the team flew home from a huge road win, App State or Youngstown St, but anyways after flying back to LC, he never left the airport parking lot. Let’s just say more than ounces of pot was found inside and in the trunk. His ass was passed out. He got kicked off the team of course.

He was so good on film, I believe it was Jimmy Johnson (HC) with the Dolphins, drafted his ass in the 5th round. Didn’t even play a complete season before the draft.

After really excelling in the preseason and a sure lock to be RB1, his dumb ass entered someone’s apartment, in his complex, and I think naked? Last I heard he was still incarcerated in Florida for something else.

I don’t think a P4 offer is going to be on the table for Cook. If he is lucky, someone at the G5 level gives him spring tryout. Otherwise JUCO seems likely next year.

This dude is toxic in every way. The idea that any place worth a shit is going to give him a shot in the spring seems absurd.

Come on CTJ, the dude has talent off the charts. Surely someone besides a CC will give him a chance?
