Where is JC’s “family” and close people to get his shit straight? Young man is pissing away potential generational money.

I hope Johntay can find clarity in his situation and get right. I hope there is no more negative press/social media on this guy going forward and only wish him the best. He “was” a Longhorn!

Hook’em!!!

I liked your post, so I expanded it into a poem using iambic pentameter, courtesy of ai:

Where are the ones who guide him on his path,
The kin, the friends, the voices strong and wise?
His fortune fades like footprints lost in sand,
A wealth that years could nurture, now at risk.

Oh, may Johntay find his way once more,
And cast aside the shadowed steps he treads.
No tale of folly, scandal, or regret—
But only strength and promise in its place.

For once he wore the burnt-orange proud and bold,
A Longhorn’s heart still beats within his chest.
So let him rise, let clearer days unfold,
And may his future shine beyond the rest.

Hook ‘em!

I feel for any kid that gets themselves in trouble.  I really hate to see wonderful opportunities squandered, but it happens every day as a result of bad choices, and often just bad luck.  But the bad luck is a result of the bad choices that but their future in jeopardy.  Reminded me of the sad story of Ramonce Taylor.

What a waste.  But hopefully purpose and happiness can be found for Johntay on the back side of all this.

Well to be fair, he spent about a week in a state that legalized it and he wasted no time switching to a different crime genre

I believe it is noted upthread he was only there for about 48 hours before getting dismissed.

This makes me want to start a thread of the biggest Longhorn busts of all time.

Two linemen come to mind:

  • Buck Burnette was an offensive lineman recruit from Wimberley who posted about hunting Black people after Obama won his first term. Never played a down for the Horns.

  • Andre Jones was a five-star defensive lineman from El Paso who also never played a down, as he got implicated in a robbery case w model citizen Robert Joseph. (remember him?) Andre Jones always claimed he wasn't even at the scene of the robbery and it was a case of mistaken identify, but he was unable to clear his name, as the video evidence his lawyer produced was inconclusive. That sucks if that guy got shafted, but pretty much anyone who hung out w Robert Joseph was screwed.

    Who can you think of?

Edwin Simmons?

Eh, he was good when he got the ball, but he just didn't get many carries, for a variety of reasons.  Bad knees, fumbleitis, bad decisions off the field.

I sat across from Edwin Simmons in the Student health center in early spring semester of his freshman year. He was already wearing knee braces at that point, when we still had hope he was the next great UT running back.

All 48 hours of it? At the rate he's trashing his life, one eyeblink and you miss it. No gloss needed,

Did Johntay make it through the weekend without another arrest?

That's a good start.

Hard to get arrested in jail. (Kidding but would be funny if that's why)

Okay, update: Here is the official reason Johntay got arrested in Fort Worth. If true, wow.

Fort Worth police told WFAA that officers responded to a call for service where Cook allegedly went into the "drive-thru of a business, reached inside the window and stole someone's car keys." Fort Worth police said Cook "left the location," and then officers later made contact with Cook, he did not comply with their demands and was arrested. Officers were able to recover the stolen keys, FWPD said.

Tarrant County records showed Cook posted bond on Feb. 4.

WTF?

So lots of questions.. How do you grab something through a drive through window? Like did he get out or just crawl through? Whos car and why? This is just so fucking random..

I got a feeling this is going to have something to do with an undefeated pussy, a whip for his baby mama, and someone fooling around on someone..

Ohhhh, it was just a normal case of stealing car keys in the drive-though window!!! Whew! Thanks heavens. I originally thought that it was something strange!

Which is worse, to bust without ever mattering, or to have the NFL golden ring in your hands only to piss it all away a la Ramonce Taylor?

Start the thread.

I guess you have never spent hours scrolling through World Star Hip Hop. This scenario is pretty standard, really.

Starting WR in Sark's offense is pretty much the NFL Golden ticket, so I'd say the situations are pretty much the same.

Johntay is obviously spiraling out and making every wrong decision where possible. I was just genuinely surprised you can arrested for something in Texas that is legalized basically every where else in the free world. You can walk right through TSA now with THC products. Just odd that Texas would still be enforcing this.

This is a reminder that flying with weed is a felony offense. Just because your state legalized it doesn't make it legal. ORD has weed drop boxes just past all TSA checkpoints if you forgot to leave it at home.

And, a reminder that real THC products other than personal quantities of flower, remain a felony in Texas.  Joint, not likely an issue; real gummy, felony....
