This. Also people need to stop saying “weed” like we are still in the days of a bag of weed and rolling paper. THC products are much more common in vape pens (oil infused THC) and edible products most commonly gummies. These are not something a dog is trained to find. My favorite product is a hydration powder that I mix with a vodka soda at the airport bar.

Got searched at Hobby yesterday over the hydration powder in my carryon

While I hate Mack, this has been a problem for a while….maybe why we underachieved for decades.  I was playing 2 on 2 basketball in summer 1997 at an outdoor court on the east side of 35 when the starting UT linebacker crew came and challenged us to a game.  Clearly, we were athletically outmatched but hung in there due to two reasons:  (1) we played as a team and they did dumb one-on-one type bs but more importantly (2) we didn’t constantly smoke out in the middle of plays like all of them were doing.

Around 60 days later, I’m guessing this crew got winded from chasing UCLA RB’s when they scored 900 points against us.

Never had a problem with weed products, but I can tell you from experience that a value pack of Opa's sausage looks extremely suspicious when it goes through the scanner. Oops.

Barry Switzer (in his role as Dallas Cowboys coach) showed up to the airport with a pistol in his luggage that one time.

So did the legendary  UT band director Vincent R. DiNino.

I still remember how badly I was sun burnt after that game. It must have been 150 degrees in the stands that day.

Absolutely agree, but that kind of means you have to have to recruit players that have some idea what adult behaviour looks like. Otherwise it's not a question of IF they will crash and burn, just when and where.

since we’re telling stories from that time period, one time a few guys wouldn’t stfu during study hall, and the coaches said that everyone was going to have to pay for it. jared norton stood up and more or less said, “fuck that, i ain’t getting punished for these dumbasses”, and he told on the guys who wouldn’t stfu, one of whom was montre webber. now i don’t know if everyone here is familiar with these two, but webber was probably 6’2”, and like 190 lbs iirc. meanwhile norton was something like 6’3”, 235 lbs, and one of those quiet, nerdy guys who you just shouldn’t piss off.

well, montre took exception to this and confronted jared norton outside of jester, and when i tell you that jared norton beat the BRAKES off of montre webber…boy. i have never seen an ass whooping like that. norton got webber on the ground almost immediately and then just proceeded to pummel him with a flurry of fists that seemed impossibly fast for a man of his size. nobody fucked with jared norton again after that lol.

This is a really awesome story. Thanks for sharing.

Yes - most including myself on the East side left shortly after HT. I’d rarely left a UT game before “The Eyes,” but that one stole the show. Off to Jaime’s and their Sangria striped margaritas for me and the wife.

My then-wife looked at me at halftime and said "give me the keys".  I had walked home from campus to our house in Travis Heights many times, but on that occasion, what with the shitty football and the extreme heat, I just left with her.

Wasn't he your boy? I seem to remember from TOS that yall were super close. It sounds like you are calling him a loser and an idiot here.

I was monitoring the score from Strudel Cafe in Jerusalem. I was planning on flying from Copenhagen to Istanbul, but for only $40 more I couldn’t to Israel and there had just been a bombing a month before, so I thought that it would be a safe time to visit and then could bounce to Istanbul next.

Well, it turned out that the day I bought my ticket there was a second bombing and then not many days late, UCLA bombed the fuck out of us as I occasionally logged on for 15 minutes to check scores, stats, & email before logging off for another 15 to 30 minutes because dial up internet was not cheap in Jerusalem Internet cafe in 1997.

The bar owner went to Holland Hall in Tulsa, but don’t know where he went for college. One of his buddies who came in went UT, but didn’t know how to complete more than one more sentence after I responded that I was not in a Jewish fraternity at UT.

They chatted about where they were when they heard the second bombing and going to gather kids from school as I repeated logged on to see the UCLA was igniting dynamite 🧨 in our asses with no end in sight.

Had been looking forward to that game for months.

Back in the day of breaking into apartments and stealing TVs and fighting were bringing in 10+ wins a year.

We would like to hear more about the robbery. Why was your roommate chosen? Were they buying from him?

For normal people, it's hard to compute how someone decides to commit armed robbery. I know we are not talking about Nobel Prize winners here, and I've done lots of dumb things in my life, but man, how stupid do you have to be to even think this is a good idea, especially when you are getting a free ride at a university and potentially a chance to earn big $ in the NFL?

Clearly you've never been in the narcotics marketing and sales industry, where you face significant payment pressures up the supply chain.

lol I guess you missed the Strong and Herman years…..or Mack’s choir boy classes? I kid….mostly.

People used to refer to Mack as a CEO type. Then you pull back a layer or two and realize he would’ve been the worst CEO in history. He was a politician and not a very good one.

summer of 2006: like nine longhorn football players are arrested.

RE:  What did you do last week?

Please reply to this post with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc immamac.

Please do not send any classified information, links, or attachments.

Deadline is this Monday at 11:25pmEST.

1. I participated in three meetings where we discussed having less meetings.

2. I reviewed and 'adjusted' my invoices ahead of my audit. (AND THANKS A LOT FOR REPORTING ME, ASSHOLE)

3.  I took in  @immamac's Surly Horns CyberTruck for a software update. Since the Tesla repair facility is much closer to my home than the office, I worked from home the rest of the day, but really made progress on the invoices.

4. As requested by Immamac, I reviewed all the Christmas party photos in DropBox and removed any compromising ones.

5. I caught up on some much-needed rest and recovery time to help me prepare for Q2.

Your response was received after the deadline, which is construed as your resignation from Surly.

Thank you for our service, and have a nice day.

Can any of the lawyers here help me go through South Austin's posts to discover the ones where he belittled me for being too old? I think I may have a case.

hey @Beau Vine ,tampering with or fabricating physical evidence is a criminal act in Texas. Under Texas law, it is a felony offense that can result in severe penalties, including imprisonment and fines. The severity of the punishment depends on the nature and severity of the underlying offense.

We all signed some pretty robust “hold harmless” agreements after his mother did some favors.

I’m sorry, but your case will be thrown out faster than a surlyhorns cargo shorts sale.
