The New Democratic Platform

Recommended Posts

America! We have heard you! The Democratic Party of the United States has always tried to be a party of the people and for the people. We recognize that we have failed in that goal.  But no longer.  We have heard you and we understand.  Going forward, it shall be the official policy platform of the Democratic Party to do and support the following:

  • Stop at absolute nothing to reduce undocumented and illegal immigration to zero as quickly as possible. We are asking border states to mobilize their state national guards to patrol the border with Mexico until emergency funding can be put in place to hire and train 5,000 new border patrol officers.  Concurrently, we will send to the President of Mexico and regional governors a statement that our new national policy on illegal immigrant crossings is that our law enforcement officers have been instructed to not allow any illegal crosser to reach U.S. soil by any means necessary.  Any foreign national inside our border illegally is subject to immediate deportation without due process of law. There is no more asylum for illegal aliens.  Any asylum application, to be considered, must be filed with the appropriate authorities prior to entering the United States.  We are also terminating the law whereby citizenship is automatically granted to persons born on U.S. soil.
  • The U.S. will immediately authorize 10 million O-1 temporary worker visas that do not allow residence in the United States.  Workers from Mexico may enter the United States border territories to work, but must return to Mexico every 24 hours.  United States businesses will be made aware of the humongous pool of cheap labor in these regions and they will be encouraged to build factories and other facilities in these regions to take advantage of this pool of cheap labor. We will build 40 new international bridges to these workers can cross in and out of the United States to work every day.
  • Federal income taxes on the poor and middle class will be cut.  For those who make less than $45,000 the tax rate will be 0%.  For those who make between $45,000 and $125,000, the tax rate will be $17.5%. The rate for those making over $600,000 is 42%.
  • The exemption for estate tax is $7.5M per individual. The estate tax rate is 42%.
  • The income tax on capital gains is increased to 22%.
  • The budget deficit is a national security risk.  Republicans are primarily responsible for our huge deficit even though they lie about cutting taxes and spending.  No more.  We are going to reduce the deficit by $10 trillion over the next 8 years. Billionaires and corporations (who have also been fucking the shit out of you by raising prices and raping and pillaging for skyrocketing profits) are going to pay for it.
  • We are OUT of foreign wars.  Rest of the world, eat a dick.  Be warned, however, if you do ANYTHING to fuck with us, we will reduce your country to a glass hole in the earth.

Our message:

The rich and corporations are FUCKING YOU.  Billionaires (like Elon Musk) have been controlling this country for decades at the expense of working Americans.  That stops now.  The United States is not going to be owned by a cadre of billionaires and run solely for their benefit.  The United States is going to see to it that the American people are compensated by these billionaires and corporations for the vast riches they have obtained because of your hard work.  They are going to pay their fair share of taxes going forward and middle class and poor Americans will keep more of their money in their wallets.  Every bad thing that you have experienced is because of the rich and corporations.  Now, together, we will make them pay.

The Democratic Party is the party of FREEDOM.  Freedom to marry who you want, freedom over your own body and healthcare, worship how you want, smoke the marijuana you want, and on and on and on.  Republicans are the anti-freedom party.  They want to pass more and more laws to restrict what the American people can do - abortion bans, anti-gay marriage, restrictive drug policies.  Why would Americans choose less freedom?

Other:

  • Fund the ever-loving fuck out of NASA and disguise it as military spending.  We can send up military satellites and test space-age weapons or whatever so that most of the funding comes out of the military budget. Jump start a program (like Apollo and the space shuttle) that allows the U.S. to send missions to the space station, the moon and to Mars. Take back space travel from private corporations (like Elon Musk's Space-X). Just like the moon landings in the late 60's and early 70's gave great national pride and a sense of togetherness to our country, the space program will do so again. It will also have the added benefit of cutting the military budget without anyone knowing and creating all sorts of new science and engineering advances, all while creating a shit ton of good jobs.

You know that you don't actually have to do any of this stuff, right?  You just have to say it a bunch of times to get elected, then do whatever you want and blame the other side when people say you didn't do what you said.

I still do not understand why it was not hammered home harder, no draft no boots on the ground, Democrats might as well still be using telegraphs for all the good they do at communicating, stop pretending you need teleprompter speeches every single time, just talk from the hip and say gaffs 24/7 it humanizes you. See the idiot and our own candidate in 2020.

Biden needed to have gone full Bernie, handouts left and right, and if they block a handout give another one and scream to high heaven.

All democrats did is do loan forgiveness for educated youth (and they should have done the same for uneducated youth), it was blocked 2 times and they never clapped back angry and raising hell. This party is weak.

Yeah add in when things like oh I don't know the next "pandemic" comes along stop claiming moral high ground, intellectual superiority, and telling everyone who has the audacity to be skeptical that they are selfish pieces of shit conspiracy theorists for simply disagreeing with the official narrative.

It was that behavior (along with cheering when firefighters, nurses, and policemen were fired for not complying with mandates) that forced me away from your political party once and for all because I could see the virus started in Fort Detrick, Maryland under the guidance of Dr Ralph Baric and that when Obama banned GoF research we just slush funded it and obfuscated it over to Wuhan Institute of Virology under Dr. Shi Zhengli to finish off.  Any time that was attempted to be pointed out got shouted down, told we're idiots, etc.

The sad thing is Dr Fauci pulled a similar stunt on the homosexual crowd back in the 1980s when Reagan started talking about shutting down NIAID because we really didn't have a need for it once we figured out sanitary drinking water and living conditions.  PCT tests were introduced to convince people they had HIV and then they needed to start taking AZT only the AZT was what was killing them (similar to Remdesivir & ventilators this go round).

The general pro tip is when you see the government say something you should approach it with a MASSIVE dose of skepticism regardless of what party or parties are in charge and when you see the world governments all jump up and chirp the same message you should absolutely be skeptical.

Trust me when I say this I'd rather party with the LGBT community than the rednecks however the current incarnation of everyone has to believe your religion ain't gonna cut it in the political arena in that case I will stand with the working people of this country as they are getting choked out.

Not an unreasonable position to take. There are rational points to be discussed in there.

No comments on the proposed new platform?  The guy in the video is not entirely wrong - we can either be right or we can win elections. We need to win elections then we can act on what we know is right.  To do that we've got to bring more people under the tent.  So what big issue can we give on?  I chose immigration.  Illegal immigrants don't vote so we can fuck them over with no political cost. Plus, it looks like doing the border will actually gain favor with the very important Latino voting bloc.  We don't have to be inhumane to carry out the policy.  Hell, we don't even have to carry out the policy at all.  It was the No. 2 issue for Trump voters.  So we go further on it than the Republicans have even tried.

Bernie Sanders blasts Democratic Party following Kamala Harris loss

The Vermont independent called the Democratic Party's campaign "disastrous."

ByAllison Pecorin and Meredith Deliso
November 6, 2024, 6:35 PM

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders issued a scathing statement on what he called the Democratic Party's "disastrous" campaign after Vice President Kamala Harris lost the presidential election to former President Donald Trump.

The independent, who caucuses with Democrats, said it "should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them."

"First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well," Sanders continued in his statement. "While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they're right."

The longtime progressive champion, who ran for president in 2016 and 2020, reflected on the ways Americans continue to experience economic instability, from income and wealth inequality to a lack of guaranteed paid family and medical leave.

Sanders also criticized continued spending on military aid to Israel.

"Today, despite strong opposition from a majority of Americans, we continue to spend billions funding the extremist Netanyahu government's all out war against the Palestinian people which has led to the horrific humanitarian disaster of mass malnutrition and the starvation of thousands of children," Sanders said.

Sanders, who won reelection Tuesday to a fourth six-year term in the U.S. Senate, cast doubt about the party's ability to learn its lesson.

"Will the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign? Will they understand the pain and political alienation that tens of millions of Americans are experiencing? Do they have any ideas as to how we can take on the increasingly powerful Oligarchy which has so much economic and political power? Probably not," Sanders said.

Sanders said "very serious political discussions" are now merited about the path forward for "those of us concerned about grassroots democracy and economic justice," before ending his statement with, "Stay tuned."

1.  Dems need to go all in with the Pubs push for State's rights.   Go even more extreme.  Push for states to have complete control within their borders and revenue and strip the feds of all power outside national protection.  No more national infrastructure projects or poor state poor.  Push to eliminate the IRS and any mechanism for transferring money to the feds.

2.  Blue states then need to keep 100% of their revenue and refuse to participate SOCIALISM such as  revenue sharing with shithole, welfare states.

3.  When the economy tanks in 2 yrs, Dems need to run absolutely NO ONE  for president.  Sorry, not gonna bail the country out anymore.  You break it, you own it and pull yourself up by your bootstraps!   Shit hole red states and their population can fend for themselves.

4.  Profit and meet at Chili's.

Problem was the Orange man wouldn’t allow her to address her real platform. They created fake outrage over tampons in boy restrooms, Haitians eating dogs and cats, men playing women’s sports, and all that. Harris had to spend way too much time shutting that down and pointing out ridiculous it all is compared to presenting her platform and connecting with voters. Her last two days where she didn’t even mention his name were the best she ever sounded to me. I guess I could be completely off base since she got blown out, but I really liked the positive, confident Harris telling her plan. Giving America some hope.

Fuck yes.  You can have integrity and tell the truth or you can win elections.  In American politics, you can't do both.  At least underlying our lies would be a genuine desire to work for the greater good, the downtrodden and the future of the country.

THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THE ECONOMY.

The average American’s only insight into the economy is their buying power. All they see are high interest rates making homes and cars unattainable and inflation killing their household budgets. They don’t have investments to reap the gains of the “real” economy.

Focus solely on the economy and you win. The average American does not give two shits about any other issue enough to get them to the polls.

Hell, you don’t have to even do anything as long as you’re not the incumbent during high interest rates and inflation. An incumbent is never getting reelected in that situation.

Somehow the parties have reoriented around the 1973 Armadilo World HQ Redneck - Hippe axis. Ds got the hippies, Rs got the rednecks. And there are more rednecks than hippies.

Now I happen to think Ds have better economic policies that benefit the working class, including rednecks. But clearly cultural issues bring rednecks to the Rs. I'm not going to argue that is a narrow media bubble phenomenon, because I think on certain issues (immigration, trans) there are real differences.

But I do know there is only one solution: Willie Nelson. Only Willie or a Willie-like figure can bridge the rednecks & hippie divide. Ds need to ask themselves: What Would Willie Do? And if that means sparking of a J to share with Billy Joe Shaver, to see what rednecks want, then make it so. And Ds need to find out what Hispanics want and not just assume they will vote D. Amd after all: Willie made a hit country song with Julio Iglesias.

Ds can find themselves back in the White House - just as Willie once smoked up on the rooftop with Jimmy Carter - but they have to stay the course. Maybe consider some populist tax policy, like Willie and the IRS Tapes.

Now maybe the 2024 election was like with Willie's wife sewed his drunk ass in a sheet and beat him with a broom. But she forgave him, and the American people are fundamentally a Good Hearted People.

Primary foundational national dem platform should be all about assisting those who the market economy is leaving behind.

Secondary foundational national dem platform should be climate friendly policies as required by scientific evidence of existential threat.

Foreign policy and social issues like abortion - just whatever the candidate can intelligently communicate.

If the market economy in the US results in 1/3 American households being financially insecure, why would you not appeal to the 2/3 who are? Especially if those 2/3 vote regularly.

Those 2/3rds benefit from the financial security of the other 1/3.  So the appeal should be universal if communicated correctly. Small businesses and large alike would benefit from 1/3 of the population being more financially secure and thus more willing to spend.

Dems need to abandon identity politics and do a better job of making their message about class vs race and gender.  They also need to be much more aggressive about demonizing rich people.  The deficit issue is ripe to seize back the narrative because the GOP hasn’t and won’t do anything about it.  Same for immigration.

Like yall said, the takeaway from Trumps wins is that you can either be in the right, or you can win, not both.

Sad as it is to say, America is not ready to focus on gender issues, and race issues are still fragile.  You have to get the idiots to think they’ll be richer with you in office, because that is really all they care about.

I have no faith the Dems will fix their problem.  They don’t appear to have anyone in their bullpen who appears charismatic enough to do what has to be done.  If Mayor Pete were straight, he’d be a contender.  But a gay man or minority woman will not win the presidency anytime before 2036.

Disagree-they have multiple governors and legislators with the personal charisma.  As James Carville has said, they have a lot of young upcoming talent, they just haven’t been the ones in charge.

I might have agreed with the sentiment that Mayor Pete just needed more seasoning and would be a great candidate, but this election should be a wake-up call that anyone culturally conspicuous is out of the mainstream.  And this goes for women, too.

One of the PSA boys said this the day after but everyone else seems too afraid to repeat it (including PSA)-this should be the last female nominee they run for a while.  You’ve had two elections in which that’s been rejected.

Also, everyone that cares about the deficit are currently hiding in the MAGA shadow and are unlikely to constitute a significant contribution to the next Dem coalition.

Sarah Longwell on today’s PSA talked about survey groups she ran and finally answered a question that I’ve been asking myself.  “What’s a more consolidated theory of what comes next?”  She stated that change candidates are likely the voters preference going forward as we in the west settle into something of an institutional malaise (so this isn’t just the US).  She imagines a Presidency where the incumbent always loses, a Congress where the party out of power regains it every two years, and voters who are never happy with anyone.  She places the blame on the prevalence of social media, connectivity via our phones, and the pervasive sense both help create that “those people over there have it better than me and that pisses me off.”

I thought that was interesting because I think Bernie’s “we need to appeal to working people more” only scratches at the real issue.  David Brooks writes about this kind of thing all the time, in which he concludes current politics isn’t nurturing the soul.  The Democrats have a great opportunity over the next couple of election cycles to build a movement that doesn’t require a black man with a funny name and once in a lifetime charisma to take back the Presidency.

This might sound really stupid, and I think it might be, but I think the next Democratic nominee for president should say the word “fuck” and its variants a lot.  Nothing would wipe away the stigma that Dems talk down to people faster.

America shouldn't focus on either.   I don't see the advantage of making "caring about others" and "treating all people with respect regardless of race or gender" as an issue.   You're an asshole if you don't.  You can't convince assholes not to be assholes.
