That you're posting about how christianity has always been oppressed by the state, going all the way back to Roman times. That you're equivocating abortion to concentration camps.

You're back on surly and immediately blowing dog whistles that are go-to favorites. What's next, GROOMERS??

Christianity quickly became the state religion of Rome, explicitly to control people by the Roman Govt.  Its not complicated. And I'm a follower of Christ, though we are running out of churches.

This dude sucks

I started here, it doesn't say your first sentence, it shows that we should get out of the state.

Yes, murder of children is bad, even in Iceland. Just because they'll have a disability, like what the Nazis did. I'm not sorry you feel that's just a step too far.

300 years after the death of Christ. It has no bearing with how Christians should behave today.

You can be mad at me all you want, but this is the Leopards thread where people make fun of people having bad things come back on them. This place should be civil in its cruelty.

Iowa, which went red, was the state that had the highest amount of people looking into changing their votes. This occurred mostly in the areas of Des Moines-Ames, Cedar Rapids-Waterlook-Iowa City and Dubuque.

Interestingly enough, the highest number of searches took place on Monday (Nov. 11) at 5 a.m., less than a week after Election Day. Other states with the same high search interest include Kansas, Idaho, Nebraska and Alabama — all states that Trump secured.

Was it all the women that one pollster said were going to vote for Kamala and help deliver Iowa?

Yeah, I'm Christian as well, but one cannot ignore the centuries of corruption, oppression, and murder at the hands of the church.  Mostly the Roman Catholic Church, but some others as well.  Not anymore than you can ignore slavery and a bunch of other shitty stuff the United States has done.

@workswithseed isn't a malign presence.  I mean hey, he's in his 20s or early 30s and bought a house without a STEM degree or some other connection.  That is significantly against the odds these days.

I'm not mad at you; I have no ill will towards you. Go have a happy fruitful life.

I have no idea why you are here, and most of  the time you just say weird or dumb or partially inarticulate shit.  It sucks.  Surely you have another community that's a better fit.

You were gone for a minute; go back. Enjoy life.

Okay, God bless. I'm here for nostalgia, and it's nice to talk about food again with a bunch who actually know what chili is. Seriously didn't know haw many Texans are blind to the truth.

Maybe start a thread about things you have interest in and be more coherent. And stick to whatever truth topic you feel we are blind to.

Imagine looking at Trumpism and its overt Christian Nationalism and then coming onto a board to gloat about….how “Christianity” isn’t entangled with the state? WTF?
American “Christianity” is about as divorced from the gospel as you can get. It’s also entirely about asserting “religious” control of society and the government (the MAGA crowd is full-on into “seven mountains” dominionism - look it up, and I don’t mean “watch a stupid YouTube video”).
You can preach MAGA.
You can preach actual gospel-based Christianity.
You cannot preach both.

Trump is a golden calf to a lot of Christians, and it's sad to see. My family being one of them.

Cool let's take it to a thread with some sort of ethos or guideline .

I may dip out again As I did during Obama or just  go to lurking  as I did under Biden at times;  or not.

But I do appreciate your measured and thoughtful responses to various issues. If I never mentioned it; I truly Thank your work. You've been tireless about explaining law in very balanced ways.  Thank you truly even if you post pissed me off.

His climate plans are the one thing we can’t reverse in 4 years (that and the courts too). Every day matters right now when it comes to climate. I’m really distraught about it. FML.

The lovely and amply endowed Mrs. Gillette in my third grade Fort Lauderdale class would do a Bible reading every morning in our public school (Stephen Foster Elementary - where btw we also sang ‘way down upon the Suwannee River’ in full minstrel vernacular).

Coming from Iowa I was briefly confused at her references to the Woah of Nawthurn Agresshin.

I’m not sure if it’s great again, but I think Trump is taking us back to 1963.

Yep. We did a minstrel show too, 3rd or 4th grade. Somebody had sense enough to rule out blackface. I didn't get to do the intricate tambourine knee and elbow routine, but I can still remember the mournful swell of Cotton Needs a Pickin... So BAAAAD..."

Then I would go home and hide behind the baby-sitter's chair while she watched Dark Shadows because that skull with eyes freaked me OUT.

Why? Its always in the 90s in Texas in November and hurricanes are normal in Nov now.

I remember cold fishing trips in early September.

Now it's surfing hurricanes in board shorts in Mid Nov.

I'm just assuming this country will be a smoking crater sooner than later. Anything better than that would be positive.

"I never did this when Biden won"

"Not talking to me because of politics"

I tried unsuccessfully to explain this to family who were complaining about "losing friends because of politics".

Trump's mouth, associatiates and history of actions took the Presidential choice way beyond just politics.

It's entirely too convenient, aka horseshit, for them to try and limit the scope of everyone's issue with Trump to just "politics".

Of course, these family members will lose their face if ACA goes away too.
