I like McDonald's.

Sorry not sorry.

Got some late Friday since we were working and no one wanted to cook. it ain't bad, but you know what to expect. Now what is funny is after 10PM I ordered in Spanish. Don't tell me all those people in there are legal. And who the fuck cares. They are working at a place with a clown for the mascot. Wait, so a place run by a clown staffed by law breakers? So the White House IS McDonalds.

McDonald's literally killed people last month. Their product is terrible and getting worse. You should never eat at McDonald's it's a terrible company, experience and awful food. Tons of other fast food options.

It's a guilty pleasure left over from childhood. When you want it you want it because you know exactly what you're going to get.

And when I want it, I like it. No big deal.

This obsession with grocery prices is just weird. Are they THAT much higher? I have zero doubt that a lot of people bitching about the price of eggs still go out for dinner 1-2 times a week and probably buy lunch during the week too. All of a sudden Americans are such thrifty shoppers

People were bitching about the price of eggs and then paying $1K for Taylor Swift tickets.

There was a poll in 2023 asking people if gas was higher than in 2022 and most people said yes even thought it was half as expensive.

As if we need another example of how uninformed the general populace is.

I posted it earlier but will repeat it.  Everyone forgets that having people shop for you and loading your groceries into your trunk while you sit in your car used to be a paid service.  Now its free and available nearly at all grocery stores, walmarts, targets, etc.  That cost is now added to everyone’s bill.  Its not an apples to apples comparison.

I pay the $15 plus tip for them to bring it to my house. I refuse to be around the unwashed masses anymore.

I bet you get shit produce.  That was one thing I hated during COVID.  All the bad produce (and terrible substitutions) that I got from my grocery orders.

Yeah, I can't really do curbside for that stuff. If I am loading up shit for the deer camp which is mostly non perishables I will do curbside to make the swing out of town easier. But for day to day stuff like produce and proteins you have to go inside.

Stuffing himself with McDonald's when there are better, almost as easy options available is the only relatable American thing about Donald J. Trump.

I'm sure his number crunchers tell him to keep playing the hits.

Nobody is telling him to keep eating at McDonald’s like it’s a campaign strategy. He likes it. He’s always liked it. It’s who he is. It’s long been reported that he trusts it because it’s clean and he won’t get poisoned by it. (Yes, he’s an idiot. Let’s not waste time debating that.)

Vanity Fair reported about Trump’s penchant for the Golden Arches (and fast food in general) back in Feb, 2016.

20-40% higher depending on what you buy. Cereal and potato chips and shit like frozen pizza are wtf higher. With 2 teenage boys it’s def a noticeable increase

Yes, processed foods are higher. And it sucks we live in a society where few have time to make meals without using it.

Lots of unprocessed foods are higher as well.  Thankfully I'm not in a position where groceries affect my budget, but I've certainly noticed the higher prices.  The supply chain issues post-COVID (and the related jacking of prices by grocery stores because they could) definitely threw things for a loop there.

They are much higher than 5 years ago, but it never really mattered how much higher they are or what caused it.

And you’re paying more for less volume in many cases. Chips are a huge example of this. Bags are like 50% air now.

Of course he likes it….it’s got his wittle name as it’s namesake.  He will probably, by executive order, have them change the name to Donald’s!

Gotta fit in with the masses. Eating lentils or hummus might get your ass deported. Or Mexican food without the cheese found at crappy high school football games.

the only staple that I buy that seems to still be high as giraffe pussy compared to pre-covid is butter. I remember a 4 stick 1lb pack of butter used to be $3ish dollars for the store brand and now it's like $5. However, other dairy products are the same as before; milk/cheese/sour cream/etc

It’s not free at HEB. Curbside prices have a 3% markup and if you want it to be ready quickly it’s another $5-8.
