The Leopards Eating Faces and Unlubed Dildo of Consequences Thread

I have no interest in talking to Nazis. If you voted R in this election, you’re out. I’m fortunate that everyone in my close circle is educated and reasonable, and thus made the correct choice. But a bunch of aunts, uncles, and cousins are morons. And you know what? Fuck them.

And that is what is so fucked up about Trump. He is so intentionally divisive. He has made everyone so dug in on both sides. It used to be that you could have political differences and live in harmony. No longer.

"This is not what the voters wanted."

Dude.  The voters wanted stupid performative shit to own tha libz.  They are getting EXACTLY what they wanted.  When you look at the menu, the item says "Shit sandwich, made with real shit," and you tell the waiter "I want the shit sandwich, made with real shit," you cannot complain when the waiter delivers to you a shit sandwich, made with real shit.

"But we didn't read the menu!"

Morons

All the people I poured with in Oklahoma were White. I can still frame and smooth (not white though so okay to pay me less).

I poured and finished driveways and did roofing in college.  Good motivation to complete my degree.

Yep, voting against your own interests has become a Hallmark of the American populace.  Case in point, Teamsters voting for an anti-union candidate because of ...checks notes... trans people and migrants.  IE, things that in no way have a direct negative impact their lives.  What will have a direct negative impact their lives?  An anti-union president.

r/WhitePeopleTwitter - They did WHAT?

Too many truck stop Lola encounters ending in buyers remorse?

I have been to Paducah so this hits close. Did you know they have the World Quilt Museum or something like that? Oh, and an old ass reactor.

My mom was a quilter and she forced a detour to the quilt museum in Paducah during some family road trip or another, and while I wanted nothing to do with it and was probably a shitty teenager about the whole thing at first, I came away being very impressed with it and was ultimately very glad we stopped.

Your mom made you say that, right?  She's in the room with you right now.

We stopped in Paducah for a night before heading into S. Illinois. Just me and my kiddo. Had fuck all to do, since can only watch river barges for so long so she went there. She enjoyed it. I went to an Italian place instead and drank espresso.

The museum's website seems underwhelming and difficult to use, but the collection of photos at TripAdvisor does a credible job at showing the types of remarkable shit that I didn't know was possible prior to my visit.

Imma comes across to me as an appreciator of all things quilted.

Nah, crochet. Like beanies. Match his shoes. Back to leopards. The two groups I am watching the most (due to work mainly) are Farmers and the Muslims.

Quote
U.S. Muslim leaders who supported Republican Donald Trump to protest against the Biden administration's support for Israel's war on Gaza and attacks on Lebanon have been deeply disappointed by his cabinet picks, they tell Reuters.

"Trump won because of us and we're not happy with his secretary of state pick and others," said Rabiul Chowdhury, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump.

These people are so devoid of common sense that they’re begging Biden to help them before Trump takes office. Yet the reason Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s far-right prime minister, ignored Biden’s peace efforts all year was precisely because he bet that Trump would be reelected, giving him an even friendlier U.S. government to let him do whatever he wanted. And these Arab voters played right into this transparent scheme.

Rural America has been the bedrock of MAGA support. This year, 64% of rural voters went for Trump, and just 32% for Harris. And the nonprofit news outlet Investigate Midwest finds that Trump won over 77% of the popular vote, on average, in the nation’s most farming-dependent counties. So you know the leopards are hungrily circling that crowd.

I spoke yesterday with a gentleman from Hidalgo County whose family owns a construction company. They build houses. He said he doesn't talk about politics and didn't want to be quoted, but he voted for Trump.

When I mentioned to him that estimates suggest the undocumented workforce in Hidalgo County is around 100,000 or more, and that removing these individuals could devastate the local economy, he dismissed the concern, saying it was "all politics" and that he doesn’t believe such a large-scale deportation will actually happen.

He was surprised to learn that Tom Homan, Trump’s incoming pick for Border Czar, has already confirmed they will "absolutely" use the 1,400-acre ranch in Starr County, offered by the Texas General Land Office, as a camp for the planned mass deportations of millions of people.

In the video below, we see that border wall construction on the land in Starr County begins on Tuesday.

Homan has also said he will not let local jurisdictions stand in the way of deportations.

The gentleman I spoke with also didn't know that DHS can audit the I-9 paperwork for all his workers, current and recently terminated.

(An I-9 is the verification form used to confirm a person’s authorization to work in the U.S.)

Even for those who are working legally, fines for paperwork errors can go up as high as $2,789 each. These audits quadrupled during Trump's first administration, and are likely to be even higher in his next term.

We did not have a chance to talk about what it means that the current Supreme Court now has a 6-3 conservative majority after three appointments made during Trump's first presidency.

Will be closely watching this. More to come

There’s gonna be a pic of this guy in the dictionary for cognitive dissonance
