Do we have a moving out of Texas thread? It's going to take some time to be in a financial situation for us to do so, but we will have much more flexibility in a few years and are interested in options. Would like a good place to raise kids, outdoor activities nearby and decent diversity. Where would you send us?

It’s on page 2

I saw saffron at Costco last weekend for 16.50 per gram.  I know it’s expensive but never priced it before to know how that price compares, but does the spice contain the seeds?

It shouldn’t. Only the flower’s stigma and styles, ie the crimson parts in the image.

No, it is a bulb. Growing is easy. Harvesting the saffron is a bitch and it takes a lot.

Every time I'm in Texas, I'm asked when I'm moving back. The last time the conversation came up, it was on the heels of everyone discussing what kind of generators they bought for their house for the next power failure. All living in the "energy capital of the world."

This might be a generational/social circle thing but we got a whole lot of "take me with you/wish I could" from peers and a lot of confusion from older folks when we decided to leave.
