The tweet was funny but don’t expect me to go around dead naming trans folk just because Trump is in office.

I would make an exception for ole Caitlyn/Bruce though. What a cunt.

Edit: Troph has spoken. Fuck Caitlyn. What a cunt.

You are 19. You love America. You want to enlist and serve. You want to be a hard ass combat arms dude.

You work out to get ready, handle basic and AIT with ease. You even stay away from the used car dealerships offering to finance CT's to E-1's and above.

You get to a bad ass unit, real high morale. First deployment is coming up. Tempo ramps up. ISIS? Defend Taiwan?

Nope, you are heading to Del Rio. Mission? Guard super dangerous infants from Latin America to ensure they don't present a threat to the nation you love.

Wet wipes fill your ammo pouches. You have to reshine your boots to remove baby projectile vomit.

But you are there to remove this threat. Oh, and that they do not call it the Gulf of Mexico.

That is, if you haven’t quit over DEI policy.

Well, I think it really boils down to names like "democratic socialists," or really even "democratic."  In places that succumbed to Soviet communism, the complicit parties were always the "democratic socialists" or something very close to it.  It's not a very nuanced thing.
But, given that they were also all pretty much beneficiaries of asylum and programs like temporary protected status, you'd think they'd be a bit more sympathetic.  Eh, not really.  Tengo el mio.

But that belies an education issue. USSR was never a communist country, but that never stopped the stupids from thinking they were.

I can relabel grapes as cotton candy, but they are still grapes. That voters and immigrants never learned this is also our problem. Ignorance, dissonance, and bias are the building blocks towards oligarchic rule.

Yeah Texas national guard morale is at an all time low, same shit will happen with the military.

Can't expect those camps to be that nice with the sole source bids. No one cares what life is like in those trailers for the troops. Shit, they got pickleball to keep them busy. At least the Guard from Tennessee gets to stay in a motel.

They always promised that they were working on it though. The most accepted historiographical position is that Lenin and Stalin were true believers that they would achieve communism in the next century at the latest. It was opportunists like Beria that thought it was a foolish dream, and that private property was the only hope to compete with the US.

We didn't choose to call him Bruce, he did by voting for Trump.

That doesn't stop us from accepting other trans people like @troph because she voted in line with her, and frankly all of our, interests.

Fuck Bruce.  Actions have consequences.

these are the same idiots that genuinely think the nazis were socialists because of "national socialist" is in their name. Nevermind that hitler named it such in part to troll the communists and explicitly targetted socialism for literal obliteration

and the consequences you speak of? people on the street deadnaming asshole trans people isn't the consequences that are coming. the consequences are severe and formal. no need to pile on with your own consequences while telling me you're an ok dude.

I'm fine with that.  You do you and I'll do me.

I'm not looking to be "trustworthy".  I'm just being honest.  Take the trans aspect out of it and I'd feel the same way.  If you vocally support, and vote for people who are actively trying to take away rights specific to your group (race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.), then you don't deserve to be treated the same as others in that group.

Oh my fucking god, I just realized something as I was sitting here just minding my own business doing law stuff.

There are a metric asston of Texas statutes that apply to some counties and not others.  But under the Texas Constitution, the Legislature can't single out counties by name.  So they do things like "counties with a population of more than 1,000,000" or "counties with a population of less than 40,000" or "counties with a population of more than 30,000 and less than 36,000 that borders the Red River."

And sometimes they do things like . . . just to take a statute at random . . . "Subsection (a-8) does not apply to a county that borders the United Mexican States and the Gulf of Mexico or a county adjacent to a county that borders the United Mexican States and the Gulf of Mexico."  Tex. Water Code 13.254(a-9).  Huh--so that's interesting.  Aint no fucking Gulf of Mexico in these here United States of American anymore, libtard.  So I think Subjection (a-8) now applies statewide.

Your move, Paxton.

Found a productive use for that budget surplus!

While I’m white and cannot speak with full authority here, I’ll say this, my people think of deadnaming, using the tranny slur, etc. similarly to racial slurs. So you guys roll on but understand what you intend with your picking and choosing of who you ridicule with trans specific insults will unlikely be received by the broader community the way you intend it. But yeah, go for it if that’s your thing.

and in the end deadnaming Jenner is pretty low on what I give a fuck about, I want to keep my DL, passport, healthcare, insurance, freedom to travel, and wish to be free from BS discrimination just because.

Because the people only ACT like they care a good deal of the time. Some of the most self righteous on here can't be bothered to treat even "their" side amicably today. Good on you for trying multiple times tho.

Yeah, I am all for owning the right wingers but I didn't raise my daughter to be all inclusive just for her to see her old man spouting hateful rhetoric about the very people he told her to love and embrace. Gotta lead by example. When life gets hard for you a person has to stand ten toes down on their own principles or what are we even doing?

There's got to be a story behind this.

I don't know if there's a single story to go with it, but my understanding is that any law that names a particular place (city or county) as a target for whatever bullshit the lege comes up with, then the law wouldn't be unconstitutional. So, what they do in the Capitol is write these regs in such a way that they do (or sometimes don't) apply to jurisdictions by specific population ranges.

So, for example, you'll get stuff like a law that forbids communities above 500,000 in population from having a local sales tax to support economic development projects, meaning cities like Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Austin can't compete as effectively on certain big investment projects but all of their suburban competitors reap the tax base and jobs windfall.

Then, you'll have some bullshit like counties starting with the letter M with a population range of 35,000-40,000 and located on the Gulf of Mexico America are exempt from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations regarding the disposal of nuclear waste.

I'm not left or right, and don't care about "owning" anyone.  I also don't care about "inclusiveness" per se.  I care about fairness and equal opportunity based on merit.  If you are a good person (IE treat others with respect and dignity), I will treat you with respect and dignity regardless of race, class, gender identity, legal status, religion, sexual orientation, etc., but if you want to support Nazis and other fascists hell bent on taking other people's rights then I wouldn't piss on you to put out a fire.

In my opinion, taking the high road goes out the window when dealing with traitorous assholes.  We tried that and look where it got us.

People slowly realizing that the 99% white Christian group that makes Nazi hand signs, defends rapists and child sex traffickers, and wants to kill DEI may actually be bigots in real life is peak 2025.
