The one drawback being you hurt a whole lot of your voters in the process.

There's no other path forward.  At this point, the only goal should be to inflict more pain/suffering/casualties on the MAGAt class than the non-MAGAt class.

The "hey, maybe we SHOULDN'T design a society focused solely on hurting people" option was taken off the table long ago.  The name of the game is "how many people on the other side can you hurt."  It's a stupid, awful, fucking hideous game.  But that's the game they've chosen to play.  So, the only choice is to play it.  Better.  With more intentional and strategic targeting, and to go all kung-fu, use the power of their attacks against them.  As they lunge forward to hurt the weak....multiply that attack to hurt ALL the weak, because the MAGAt class is full of weak people.

It's not an echo chamber--just have to put forth an argument that merits defending.  Currently, the GOP isn't worth defending.  It's Americans vs tech bros and billionaires.  They latter doesn't represent American interests because the super rich don't heed nationalism, only tax cuts.  Nationalism's only a call to get suckers to sell their shares of unalienable rights afforded them by being Americans. Cancer research, nah, fuck that shit, this is America, and taxes for the rich prevail over children's cancer research.  If they wanted it, they could've funded it as a separate bill, but that didn't happen:

https://rallyfoundation.org/five-pediatric-cancer-bills-cut-from-the-2025-budget/
https://www.newsweek.com/pediatric-cancer-research-funding-removed-spending-bill-2003860
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mind-blowing-trump-wanted-90m-for-inauguration-while-cutting-190m-from-cancer-research/ar-AA1whqIB

Fuck all of them--this alone should get them out of their corners and support Americans, any opposition to modern Republicans.  This is why I can't watch the current administration's violation of Americans civil liberties.  It's sickening and shameful.

We'll never play that game in any kind of a consolidated effort.  Musk showed that fractures in the party can be exploited with money--pay people to go against their interests.  We'll never know the full extent to which he did this during the election or its effects, but it sure didn't help.  Democrats have too many hats and different interests, whereas Republicans unify over white privilege.  The rich don't care--see Snoop.  What happened to Snoop "fuck Donald Trump" Dogg? The uber rich aren't governed by Nationalism, they're above that.  We hurt each other and stay divided, each cut reinforcing why we hate our neighbor, rather than those running the show.    They don't actually fight in the rings they create.

The most frustrating thing about these conversations is understanding the frustrations some had with vaccine mandates* with the fear being something to the affect of "if you give 'them' this much power, they'll never give it back and they'll just keep taking" but then those same people being unmoved when that they [checks notes] gave it all back, just like they said they would.

*and, obviously, mistakes were made

Among other things, the board must annually certify that a new Data Protection Review Court inside the Justice Department, which can investigate and render judgments on any European complaints, complies with the pact.

Still, Paul Rosenzweig, a former special advocate to represent Europeans before that court and who resigned this week in protest of Mr. Trump’s return to the presidency, disclosed in a blog post about his resignation that to date the court has yet to hear a case.

We don't have to make a consolidated effort.  Just be tasmanian devils, fomenting pain and chaos wherever you can, whenever you can.  The name of the game is pain.

Oh, and as for the rich, who truly and genuinely don't care....that's why you have Luigis.  It's why you'll get more of them, and why we should be happy to see them do their work.

When an entire class of people fucks everyone else in the ass, grins and says "and what the fuck are you gonna do about it?"....we should at the very least shrug our shoulders (and at most, be smugly satisfied) when someone....does something about it.  Rig the game and make yourself immune to any legal consequences or repercussions?  Don't be shocked when the extra-legal consequences come knocking.

We ARE different than the MAGAts in one important respect, though.  Yes, we hate our neighbor just like they do (and I say we should -- give in to that hate, it's important and serves a purpose).  But we hate the MAGAts not for what they ARE -- I couldn't give half a shit if they are white NASCAR fans who love Mountain Dew, you do you, brother -- we hate them for what they DO.  And what they DO is blame the poorest and weakest among us for everything that hasn't gone right in their life, what they DO is empower the rich and powerful to inflict pain and suffering on those they hate, and what they DO is cheer on cruelty, making libs cry, making the "other" suffer, etc. when the false Gods they have created bring those things about.  The only way they will ever see the folly of that path is when they are caught it its crosshairs.  So we should do all we can to expand the free-fire zone.

Oh, kids are the BEST victims.  You think MAGAts understand their own pain?  They feel it even more acutely when it's their kids' pain.  Bring the pain to MAGAts and their entire families.  After all, that's what they want.  "The suffering tells you our policies are working!"  Well....spread the joy, folks.  Let MAGAt kids lose jobs, lose opportunities, have no choice of decent schools to attend, all the stuff.  Keep it coming till they scream "no more."  And then double it, to make sure they understand.

Exactly.  Operation "cause as many people as much pain as possible" is well under way.  Good people are going to suffer -- they always were.  We can't stop it.  But we CAN ensure that the pain is felt by everyone else.

They're not afraid of covid, but they're more terrified of needles than the average 5-year-old. Then again, they demonstrate less intelligence and emotional maturity than the average 5-year-old too so at least there's a little bit of consistency there.

That certainly tracks with the science at least

https://www.psypost.org/adolescents-with-authoritarian-leanings-exhibit-weaker-cognitive-ability-and-emotional-intelligence/

The results showed significant relationships between both cognitive and emotional abilities and ideological attitudes, though the strength and nature of these relationships varied. In line with prior studies in adult populations, adolescents with lower cognitive abilities were more likely to endorse authoritarian attitudes, both on the right and left of the political spectrum.

Interestingly, the relationship between cognitive abilities and social dominance orientation was weaker than for right-wing authoritarianism, suggesting that hierarchical preferences might be less cognitively driven.

Emotional abilities, however, emerged as even stronger predictors of ideological attitudes than cognitive abilities. Adolescents with lower emotional abilities were more likely to hold authoritarian beliefs across all three dimensions: right-wing authoritarianism, social dominance orientation, and left-wing authoritarianism. Furthermore, when emotional abilities were included in the models, the influence of cognitive abilities on ideological attitudes became nonsignificant, suggesting that emotional abilities may play a mediating role.

They're terrified of needles.

They're scared of a vaccine causing death (at - even if the worst outcomes are assumed -- a rate MUCH lower than the likelihood of dying from the actual disease).

They're scared that scary brown people/black people/immigrants are coming to break into their house at any moment, so they need to have a gun within reach in every room.

They can't let their wife or daughter go to the bathroom in public because those bathrooms are full of big rapist dudes who lied and said they're trans so they can rape women in bathrooms.

They're terrified their kids are gonna turn homogay because their town once had a drag show.

They scream "WE AIN'T SKEERED!", but live their lives in fear of shit that doesn't make any sense.....while screaming that everyone else is "libtard alarmists!" about the things that actually DO represent a threat (yes, diseases, yes, pollution (which causes early deaths for tens of thousands of Americans every year), yes, contaminated and unsafe food and consumer products).

They're terrified of all of the wrong things, and in their zeal to create a fake persona about how badass brave they are....not appropriately cautious about the things that actually do represent some greater threat.  Dumbest.  Fucking.  Timeline.

Yet you're still looking around wondering how we got here and i could see it coming for miles away. I typically vote 3rd party because they all suck, but actually didn't this time. From your tone i bet you wouldn't believe who i voted for either. The left will either learn to pay a little attention to those "conservative corners" or continue ignoring them and we all can just take the giant L. But hey at least some of yall can feel vindicated in behaving like the ones you so despise.

We got here because of inflation caused by the pandemic.  Incumbent governments across the developed world, whether right or left leaning, lost power in 2024.  It was inflation, my guy.

But I guess keep patting yourself on the back or something?  It will swing back when Trump actually follows through and does the shit he said he was gonna do all along because people don't pay attention.

Yes the average American is not very bright

Quote

Using data from the University of Florida Election Lab, a new analysis by the Environmental Voter Project shows that 85.9 million eligible voters skipped the 2024 general election, far surpassing the 76.8 million ballots cast for Donald Trump or the 74.3 million for Kamala Harris.

If "Did Not Vote" had been a presidential candidate, they would have beaten Donald Trump by 9.1 million votes, and they would have won 21 states, earning 265 electoral college votes to Trump's 175 and Harris's 98.

2024 was a landslide...for "Did not vote"

Why won't someone think of the eggs

Quote

The consumer price index found that egg prices have increased 36.8 percent from this time last year, and experts believe the increase in price is the result of avian influenza, which is rapidly depleting the supply of chickens.

If one bird is infected, farms are required by law to cull the entire flock. Axios reported Tuesday that in the previous 30 days, the bird flu affected nearly 12 million birds, according to data from USDA. If nothing changes, egg prices will only continue to rise. Trump, who brags that he won the presidency by promising to lower the prices of groceries, is obviously acting swiftly and effectively to address the issue, right?

This is what kills me about the leftist cabal nonsense the DT folks spout. Several of y'all were very active in local republican politics 15 years ago and were of an age where likely you would have progressed to being players at the state level even if behind the scenes
