my favorite reply:

Biden's puppeteers were using government hiring as a way to hide some of our awful economic numbers from taxpayers. In top of that, they were straight falsifying numbers. Then, they were planting mines that Trump would have to deal with by doing things like hiring unnecessary people to saddle Trump. It isn't sad that those people are losing jobs. They never should have been given jobs.

Biden's puppeteers caused the issue. Trump is solving it.

This is why, no matter how fat the leopoards get, nothing will change.

Those that voted for him don’t fucking get it. He’s only in it for the money, the grift and the money and grift for his billionaire cronies. Anything he says or does otherwise is just to maintain power.

I am, there is a lot of social media noise, and certainly, some people have been hurt but you don't have real sustained backlash until more of the population starts seeing this all play out in our lives.  Pain gotta work up the curve and really start permeating the middle class, urban areas, the burbs etc.

One of my friends purchased his first house with a mortgage rate at 15%.

I purchased my first home when rates  had plummeted to 13%.  That is one example of the sort of pain that the late 70s /early 80s saw.  But I think Donald can get us there.

Yea and back then home prices were only around 3.5-4x of median income, now they are 7x.

Exactly. Speaking as the rare example of a middle aged white man with the quads to pull off short gym/running shorts and swimsuits, I'm happy to see them come back.

It's also more projection. They accuse Biden of planting mines and fudging numbers. Trump and Elon are in the middle of doing that right now. Trump is straight deleting evidence of his guilt in Jan. 6th and any of the other lawsuits he can get his hands on through the DOJ. They stopped tracking bird flu numbers, just like they had stopped tracking Covid back in the day. They will hold back data, fudge it, lie about it, omit it.. all kinds of things just to make the "data" fit their narrative. He's an old-school scam artist and fraudster, using the same tired tricks and thinking nobody will catch on if he just repeats the lie enough... and it's working for much of his base.

But can you lie away economic consequences?  Will the market believe the lies?  There is no doubt that propaganda works, and with so many willing to repeat the lies as truth the lies certainly have the upper hand.  But can lies mask economic reality?  Can simply not reporting, counting or trying to effectively manage bird flu for example mean that "We are doing a fantasitic job" White house alternative reality?  Or will the fact Eggs are 50% more in a month, rule as fact?

It's just like abortion.  Does anyone expect any honest numbers regarding infant mortality from the State of Texas for example?  Lying works.  And It's not really lying if it if you simply don't allow the truth to be known... And Republicans honestly view this as how government should work.

“Partner”?  Shouldn’t that non-married in Jesus‘s Holy Church whore support the Democrats?

And I have never seen a bigger DEI scam than all of those women in nursing keeping jobs from the male nurses (who are probably better at it.)

I think Elon should look into the over-representation of women in the federal nursing workforce.

This next hurricane season, the only question is how many red states are gonna be fucked by non-existent FEMA Resources.  Trump is already whining that states should take care of their own natural disasters.

This should work well, as all of those red states are such economic engines, providing so much income to the United States.

Oh…he’ll just take money from one place and send it to the red states as a direct cash transfer. That’s how dictators buy favor.

Yea and back then home prices were only around 3.5-4x of median income, now they are 7x.

Well…then let’s get ready for crashing the value of housing, the primary store of value/equity for many Americans.

Trump administration denies Kemp’s bid to extend Hurricane Helene aid deadline

Quote

President Donald Trump’s administration has denied Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s request to give local governments more time to apply for federal disaster assistance after Hurricane Helene.

Hurricane Helene, which struck the Southeast last September, was one of the most destructive and deadly tropical storms in U.S. history, responsible for at least 219 deaths and almost $80 billion in damages. The storm caused an estimated $5.5 billion in damage to Georgia’s agriculture and forestry sectors alone, according to estimates from the University of Georgia.

I have no idea about any of the machinations of FEMA, past storms, time limits, etc.  But this is pretty simple:  Kemp didn't sufficiently bend the knee after the 2020 election, so Trump is going to fuck over the state of Georgia.

The people who voted for him while saying "Oh he won't do those terrible things he's promising to do" are now surprised that the person we knew to be terrible is indeed doing the terrible things he promised.

But he’s also a liar so it does make some sense.  Or, from their perspective, he just says things and/or it’s a negotiating tactic.

Why the fuck are people blacking out the names?

I imagine a lot of these screenshots are being copied directly from one of a few subreddits. I believe, but not certain, that I've seen at least one of them explicitly state blocking out names is a requirement to be posted in order to prevent anyone from getting doxxed. It makes sense if you want to ensure no one gets hunted down (with the risk of mistaken identity occurring) and harrassed/hurt.

Trump’s near-constant lying really broke (stupid) people’s brains. It allows them to justify a cafeteria MAGA interpretation, latching on to the promises they like and dismissing the others as “Trump being Trump” (that is, not telling the truth).

It never occurred to them that such a comprehensive history of dishonesty makes someone fundamentally untrustworthy. They convinced themselves that Trump’s true intentions are entirely aligned with theirs, the same way the religious hoi polloi all believe God is eager to intervene on behalf of their own chosen sports team.

Our species is fundamentally stupid and self-centered and, thus, easy to deceive.

"Sure he's a terrible person proposing terrible things, but he's also a liar, a thief, a rapist, and can be made to do literally anything as long as you give him a moment of flattery. He's got my vote."

This should be self evident but everyone is someone’s “other” so maybe think about who you put into office and give power to.
to the billionaires, everyone that isn’t a billionaire is an other. They don’t need to get granular enough to see race or merit.

Well that is always tricky. Obviously we need to hold the Democrats responsible for what they do wrong and vote out the bad people.

But in doing that you don't want to accidentally encourage people to instead support the far worse Republican Party or one of the several grifting third parties.

I will cash out my home again, put it all on VTI again, and keep rolling. That shit works wonders.

both sides used to be valid. George Bush and Barrack Obama engaged in either torture (war on terror, black sites, gitmo) or the execution of humans without due process (obama had more drone killings than Bush), congressmen on both sides of the aisle have raked in enormous profits with exemptions from insider trading.

trump has blown both sides out of the water. dems look like freaking innocent school children compared to him.
