Oh my sweet summer child, you don't actually think bourbon will get cheaper, do you?

We just have to survive the “one time price adjustment” that Secretary Bessent promised us, then everything will be good.

In other words -

What do you expect from a place that posts this picture to represent their taco offerings?

I’ll pay more than what it used to cost but I literally have not seen it on a shelf in at least 5-6 years.

That Japanese whiskey is pretty, pretty, good.

Only 1 bourbon in the Top 20 selling whiskies in the world.  India is cleaning our clocks.

I've watched him eat some stuff that I wondered what his guts were doing the next day. That lard pile with the fetid meat in Morocco stirred into some curry like stuff with raw eggs is imprinted in the brain. It made the box of bugs in Oaxaca look tasty.

If actual Mexicans own that place, I might be on the side of deportation too.  That's just embarrassing.

I almost included that video but they reference crunchy tacos and I assumed this chick was more of the soft beef taco kinda gal with sour cream black olives and tortillas straight out the bag.

There isn’t Juan tear drop eye tattoo in that kitchen nor any Spanish speakers related to the owners.

Donald Trump is a character from 1700s Britain. Imagine a syphilitic rake ensconced in a rotten borough, mixed up in schemes designed to stay ahead of gambling debts, clearing off yeoman farmers from land he never visits so he can cheat the shepherds, as a last resort he joins a regiment but hires a replacement when they leave London. If by bad luck he has to command troops, the sergeants get them to form square while he lolls drunk in the saddle.

I would read that book.  Kind of an anti-Jack Aubrey.

My grandmother ate sausage, eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy almost every breakfast.  She also choked down two packs of ciggies a day for lord knows how many years.  She lived to 92 and won the shot put at her nursing home's "Olympics" two weeks before kicking it in.

Got any pics of granny?

What do you suppose the odds are that the preacher/rep in that insta crowing about the vax rate is innoculated? Now do the odds for being a child abuser based on the youth minister thread in CR....

If you know what rep ‘Pastor Nate’ looks like your odds on the latter would shift significantly. Best part about him is he’s a nepotism product as well, riding the evangelical success of his father.

More like give Alaska to Russia AND pay them $7 mill a year… art of the deal.

Gotta admit, I was startled by the trade imbalance comment.  That's about 1000x more astute than I would have given most Trumpkins credit for, even if it is wrongheaded.  The Publix imbalance was lulzy.

That plant is located in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma (pop. 44,000), which voted 79% for TFG. I see a leap of leopards coming their way.

I seem to recall Trump squawking about bullets.  Do we have enough bullets now?  Seems like Biden might have fixed that.

I haven't had a drink in more than five years now so kick rocks. You deserve what is transpiring. I never liked bourbon anyhow when I did drink.

Eric seems keenly focused on the retaliatory tariffs, but not the tariffs.

Like Jimmy Kimmel, when hosting the Emmy Awards (prior to the 2016 election) said: “Many have asked, ‘Who is to blame for Donald Trump?’ I’ll tell you who, because he’s sitting right there. That guy.” Kimmel pointed into the audience, and the live feed cut to a closeup of Burnett, whose expression resolved itself into a rigid grin. “Thanks to Mark Burnett, we don’t have to watch reality shows anymore, because we’re living in one...”

Sourced from this article, a good read: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/01/07/how-mark-burnett-resurrected-donald-trump-as-an-icon-of-american-success

A long long time ago, somewhere on this forum I posted another article about Burnett that was far darker and more speculative in that it discussed Burnett's military background in more detail and posited that Burnett had ties to some unsavory foreign players somewhat in the vein of an Erik Prince. No idea if that was true. He certainly approached Putin about a decade ago about producing a show in Russia but that may have just been him looking for whatever angle he could to keep shows in the pipeline. Because ultimately he is a producer and now with his appointment as special envoy to the UK, all of his 'I'm not pro-Trump' rhetoric is as fake as his shows.
