This is a Kingdom Church. Theocratists.

Quote

Landon and Heather Schott were married in 2005 and began a life committed to building the Kingdom of God and making Jesus Famous.

It's just as described in the Atlantic. Huge. Informal. Dedicated to establishing God's Kingdom on Earth. In short, they're enemies of the republic. I quoted the Atlantic article before now, but here's a part of a paragraph.

Quote

A shift is under way, one that scholars have been tracking for years and that has become startlingly visible with the rise of Trumpism. At this point, tens of millions of believers—about 40 percent of American Christians, including Catholics, according to a recent Denison University survey—are embracing an alluring, charismatic movement that has little use for religious pluralism, individual rights, or constitutional democracy.

...

And people who have never heard the name are nonetheless adopting the movement’s central ideas. These include the belief that God speaks through modern-day apostles and prophets. That demonic forces can control not only individuals, but entire territories and institutions. That the Church is not so much a place as an active “army of God,” one with a holy mission to claim the Earth for the Kingdom as humanity barrels ever deeper into the End Times.

Idiot World becomes whole with Religious Lunacy World.

The End Times is Good Times!

That's only part of it, but a big part. Media and wealth worship turned him into an icon.

You remind me that he was iconic in the Preppie/Yuppie '80s. The lie of him making huge money with only a little bit of help from his Dad became mythology. Back then the now aging Boomers thought they were all hotshot investors as they invested in the stock market which was almost can't miss until the bust.

I hadn't really connected that 80s image of Trump being engraved in those minds. I went into Trump Tower just months after it opened. I happened to be visiting NYC. So fucking tacky; it was the cathedral for the austentatious. Of course he becomes King of the United States of Arrogance.

Think of what the defining trends/entities of this era will be when the history books are written: private equity, crypto, random-ass tariffs, resurgent white supremacy, the return of preventable viral diseases due to anti-vaxxers, doubling down on climate-harming activities (MORE coal and oil, now!), the ending of functional public education…and the list goes on.
This is the era of societal self-immolation.
God, it’s so fucking stupid.
But at least we stopped trans people from playing volleyball. So, it’s all worth it.

Seriously. These stories could start with “Donald Trump personally raped his wife in front of him, then murdered, cooked, and ate his infant son,” and the opening line of the interview would be “I still support President Trump, but….”
There is nothing he can do to lose their support.
Nothing.
His old bit about “I could shoot a man in the face in the middle of 5th Avenue and not lose their support?” We’re seeing that he wouldn’t even lose their support of…the man he shot in the face in the middle of 5th avenue.
[Man in hospital, head fully bandaged to cover the giant hole where his left cheek and eye used to be] “I mean, I still support him…”

But…lets revisit in 4 years and ask these fine folks potentially living in tents with a completely gutted economy, high cost of living and no way to pay for it, how they view their potentially last cast vote. However, the interview may need to be scheduled on a day when the city doesn’t tear down the encampment and run off its inhabitants.

There's a scene in Bridge of Spies where James Donovan is packing up for the secret hostage negotiation and his wife, knowing something is up but frustrated that he won't tell her, says "Just give me something to hold on to, I don't even care if it's the truth."

I suspect that's basically what these groups were thinking.

And Paul Ryan was on that uncomfortable phone recording that mentioned Russian donations to Trump.

I, probably tiresomely, continually refer to the GOP as a criminal organization rather than a political party. No thoughtful conservative would be part of that. We're left with GOP Conservatives jerseys, but the wearers are no more conservatives than the Dallas Cowboys fans or team are actually cowboys.

No doubt that you're correct about some elected conservatives selling their souls to stay in office. They're no longer politiicians; they're traitorous criminals and enemies of the values of a republic.

There’s something to Donald’s power though. He’s galvanized the base. He ran over golden boy desantis like he was Florida lawn.  Nobody wants to cross don.   Never thought I’d say this but being back W.  Speaking of the Bushs.  Even Prescott Bush bowed to the don

Half of this country are crack addicts addicted to Trump. We need to hit rock bottom before they can begin to heal from their affliction.

We are even close to rock bottom. 4 more years of this shit. Hopefully a good number of magats will see that their piece of shit cult leader is a piece of shit.

The question is, what will be left of this country when traitorous Trump and Republicans are done doing Putin's work?

Black dude: "Look, I know the clan says I am mud people, and should be removed from the country and sent back to Africa, but that's just rhetoric.  I really support them because of their community-oriented focus and approach.  I'll never join up with the lefties at the NAACP and such.  But this actual program of nabbing black people and putting them on ships back to Africa is distracting from our core message, and it just might push me out of the Klan!"

Dude.  DUDE.  The "hatred and marginalization of the other" is not a bug, it's not an appurtenance....it's a feature, it's the fucking core function of the product.  You fucking idiots.

The electorate is the base problem. They'll be the same despicable group of voters who were devoted to the hate cult before Trump injected himself as its personification.

American white supremacy isn't going anywhere. Neither is the Kingdom Christian movement. They'll blame everybody but Trump. When he's gone, the engine keeps running. Somebody will take the wheel and stand at the altar to lead the faithful in worship of Donald Fucking Trump.

Dude....they are 100% going to pull a "Lenin's tomb."  They'll pickle Il Douche's body, put it inside some elaborate gold (plated) viewing box, install it at Mar-A-Lago, and charge cultists $50 a head to come see it.  And then they must exit through a labyrinth of a gift shop full of MAGA and Trump commemorative merch.

All roads lead to grift.

All of them.

Oh, I forgot to add.....my long-term plan is to wait until Trumpworld collapses into full-on bankruptcy, then I will buy his corpse out of the bankruptcy estate, install it in a blue state in a way that it is surrounded by both urinals and private stalls (for the ladies), each of which drains directly onto his corpse, where I will charge people $100 for the privilege of pissing on Trump.

Then, I'll have the kind of money that would make Elon Musk jealous.

Reminder to also sell water and beer/hard seltzer in the concourse at ballpark prices.

Slicing and dicing the turnip would be best for logistics. One facility for each state. Hence the reliquary urinals.
