Now, now. You know as well as anyone else it was just a keyboard warrior joke.

No one doubts your dedication to the ledge.

Well, but your message board slight (which I took most personally, and will go on a neg rampage about forthwith) raised a legit point.  A lot of people actually have an opportunity to make a real difference - more than just yelling online or in the streets - via their daily work, either professional or personal.  Use your position to push back, to tilt things the right direction, or even just to throw some sand in the gears.  It's important.

Talk about muting the truth here.

Firstly..um..he's considered maybe the best CEO in modern banking history. I don't think there is much debate. He's tenure at Chase is best illustrated with the analogy that Dimon joining and taking Chase on the historic run is like Saban when he came to Bama. Love him, hate him, he's the GOAT.

Also regarding your comment on his political soundbytes: he's a blueberry in the tomato soup in the high finance world in that he's way more liberal than most in his position would be, both publicly and privately. The derogratory nickname for him from his bankers at JPMC is "Jaime Biden".

Not to get too far into this side topic, but banking is not the entire financial industry.  Yes, Dimon is very highly regarded, as I said.  But he's not the only one.

And Dimon has self-described as having a liberal heart but a conservative brain.  He is known for platitudes like this, as are most politicians.  I guess that makes him more liberal than most bankers in that he isn't Jesse Watters.  Cool?  That doesn't change what I said about him being known for empty rhetoric in front of cameras.  He absolutely is.

He was paid, a lot, to listen to his brain and ignore his heart, as it relates to his employment.  Fair statement?

I really do not know the guy or know much about him.  But it doesn't say much about the banking industry if the guy doesn't understand markets and stability.   If he is playing a game, then the better course of action would be to shut the fuck up, not stay stupid shit to appease an orange moron.

Are you suggesting Jaime Dimon doesn't understand markets and stability because a snippet of what he said about stability was quoted and it is a captain obvious statement (which is also technically correct)?

I'm genuinely trying to understand how Dimon is catching strays on Trump sucking. Especially considering Dimon is a sometimes public, but always closeted, democrat. Between 1989 and 2009 he donated more than 12x the amount to Democratic candidates than to R's.

Like most of us here in Texas (and even moreso if you are in certain industries like manufacturing and oil and gas) Dimon takes on a professionally nonpartisan stance in most firm-representing and related matters.

What about President of the United States?

Dimon?  I’d vote for him in a heartbeat and if he ran as a Dem, which he was for the longest time, every sane person here would too.

He’s the best CEO, period. He’s on camera a bunch because people seek him out. He doesn’t have empty word soundbites. He shreds politicians without getting political, as he did Warren and Tlaib about 3 years ago.

I have an Exit to Eden movie screenshot locked and loaded for the next troller on this thread.

Go for it.  That shot of Rosie will only remind me of how hot Dana Delany was in that movie.

i suspect it is more about dimon being just another public personality with no accountability for anything he says or does and shamelessly heel turning when it starts to impact him. recall that this was him in january of this year:

https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/22/economy/jamie-dimon-tariffs-get-over-it/index.html

Quote

Tariffs are “an economic tool” or “an economic weapon,” depending on how they’re used, said Dimon, head of JPMorgan Chase, in an interview Wednesday with CNBC from Davos, Switzerland, where the World Economic Forum is taking place. “I would put in perspective: If it’s a little inflationary, but it’s good for national security, so be it. I mean, get over it.”

I've been in Solana Beach for a week.  Trust me, it's very livable.

Can confirm.  Was there for only for a few days, but yeah.   Glorious weather.

Had outstanding pizza at the Pizza Port.

My kids played in the pacific for a bit:

You fuckers have managed to make this thread worse than the Ewers thread

Give us time, we'll turn this into a cross between the Ewers thread, Jade's chili thread, and "chicks Vic Mackey would dig" thread.

And it still won't even come close to matching up to the real-world shitshow unfolding before our eyes.
