Perhaps you can point out the DNC infomercials that ran this election cycle, because I sure as shit did not see them.   Other posters have said it’s up to the Democrats to end run the information vacuum that the GOP voters have - where they only listen to their own news source and refuse to listen to CNN or New York Times or Washington Post or anyone but OAN and Fox.

it doesn’t bother me that you think I’m suggesting a failed strategy, but it’s far more helpful if you propose a better solution.  maybe a better strategy is to just run the infomercial ads in markets that are largely made up of women. They are currently the ones losing all of their rights, so if we can’t sway their husbands, maybe we could sway them to vote secretly.    I have no solution.

“and we’ll call them infomercials instead of commercials to have people pay attention for 30 seconds”

The funny (or maddening) thing is people like this will continue to publicly support Trump in real life. They'll reply with complaints online, but they'll keep their mouth shut and tow the MAGA line instead of admitting that POS fucked them over.

I'm pretty convinced that the majority of Americans are more concerned with inflicting pain on cruelty on those they perceive to be "other" - immigrants, minorities, women, the woke liberal cabal, whoever - that they'd accept a degradation in their own standard of living so long as they still get to throw those downward punches. Look at the California farmers or Johnny Sack. Trump is a symptom, not a disease. We are a disgusting society.

A lot of them are very pissed about gay marriage. I assume that's Johnny Sack's thing. He's probably a closet homosexual or something.

This is the truth, and the problem. How do you change people's minds when their entire purpose for being politically active is to make others suffer? They will gladly accept a masochistic role long as they can also dole out their sadistic desires.

Agreed.

It's the old they-hate-us-more-than-they-like-themselves routine.  Just as aggy would giddily accept 4th place in the SEC for the rest of their lives if it meant that we would finish dead last, most Republicans would gladly live on teachers' wages if it meant that the people they think are inferior had to be homeless.  Deep down, they know they're stupid and they're not going to amount to much no matter what they do.  So, the absolute most important thing to them is to have someone to look down on, and anyone different, in skin tone or religion, is always their first choice.

The problem is that we have a handful of really smart, really evil people who have spent the last 30 years positioning themselves to give that stupid mob exactly what it wants.  And they really shouldn't have to worry about any election for at least a generation because of it.

This is what it looks like when the bad guys win big.

All of this is absolutely true.  But the X factor is that they are also largely huge bullies and pussies.   So while they will accept some kind of degradation, they will absolutely crumble and start crying and raging if the negative consequence is significant.  Because that is also classic bully behavior.

I’m trying to invent reasons for optimism Buddy, cut me some slack. lol

poor Skylar.  Might lose his farm “cause of  the government” !!

And he would still blame it on Biden, a Clinton, or Obama, or George Soros, or any other Democrat.

And apparently now Musk's people are at FEMA and looking to shut it down.  Which is going to be great when the next hurricane hits the Gulf coast.

I am either pissed I paid my flood insurance a few months ago or happy because I get to be in a lawsuit against the feds. Hmmmm
