This.  The only currency of any value to the "persuadable" voters is lies.  Tell them lies, big lies, on repeat, hammering them with a firehose of lies.

I wont wish that on anyone. It is not their fault they are stupid rubes who believe in their superiority.
Whats best is to watch them live in misery for the next 20 years. The pendulum will shift. And when it does we need to remember all these asstards.
But, in the mean time, a lot of damn good people are being hurt. Lets take the rage and focus on helping those we can. The Rodney's are fucked no matter what. Can you quietly help a good neighbor who lost their job due to this crap? Then help em. Drop off dinner one night. Just be an ear. Shit we shoudl have always done. But now it is more important.
My wife is suffering due to this. She is about as good as an ally you can find. The halt to the science and field programs is real. All the projects she is going for are stopped. We are impacted. And I want to kick rodney in his nutts. But I won't wish death on him.

Fuck that. If you alleviate their suffering, you’re saving them from their mistakes and they’ll never change.

Nothing - NOTHING - but the most horrific of consequences will change their minds. Lose everything. EVERYTHING. Know that greatest of human despair, and MAYBE they’ll realize and change.
Cults are like every other addiction: there is no possibility of change until you hit rock bottom…and rock bottom for an addict is 10x more awful than any of us can imagine. Sucking sore-infested dick in a dumpster in the freezing rain, and then passing out in that dumpster because you don’t have a home, is the kind of shit it takes for an addict to break. We have to get there as a society as a whole.
Root for pain. Unimaginable pain. Because that is our only hope.

And that comes with time. Dude, you are a lawyer. you want the fix now. The better way is to cut em slowly, one less beer at a time.

As usual, Democrats are fucking this opportunity up.

Dems need to make sure people know that while these are dOTarD's policies, the R's in Congress are just letting this shit happen. Dems need to be hammering that message- Congressional R's are just as culpable as DOtarD.

I kind of disagree. This is the beginning of the storm, we have 3.9 more years of this shit (hopefully...).  They need these cuts to hurt those who voted for Trump, Elon, Rs and the like to feel the pain and harden them against the GOP for the future elections. This shit isn't going to be fixed in 2026/28, it will take at least a decade to rebuild what they are tearing down.

We aren't even in midterm campaign territory yet, and the Dems only hope in the immediate future is to win a few special elections in very red districts. Probably not happening. They need a lot of Rs and Independents to realize how much they and their families rely on government programs, contracts and agencies. Only then will they think twice about the "drain the swamp" slogans.

Lol... These idiots still don't realize the DEI stuff is just a bullshit catch-all to cover what they are doing. Anyone who remotely falls in that category will be cut if they aren't necessary to the cause. All they want is sycophants in high positions to make way for the real change that's going to happen in the next few years.

Actual people have handles with long number strings?

also how can she be so sure that the daughter didn’t get hired initiallly or any of her promotions as a result of the hiring manager wanting to add some diversity at the time?

One observation I've had is that these people tend just not to think things through. It's like they're unable to do second-order (and beyond) thinking, so they're always shocked by unexpected consequences.

I always let the few trumptards in my orbit hear this.  Lately they have nothing to say.  Pretty amazing.  Total silence.

He said it himself. And he did the shit for years.

They keep saying it’s about fucking the Browns/blacks/gays.  But the vast majority of the fuckery is targeted at the poor/middle class.  And the largest numbers of those are definitely trump’s base.  I don’t see it changing.

That ain't gonna work for me, brother. I agree there are a lot of good people who are being hurt, and good people who did the right thing and voted for Harris. I would drop everything in a second to help them.

Unfortunately, we don't have a list of who voted for whom in this country. Since I can't verify if you voted to stop this madness I can't help you. Because, when it comes down to it, my desire to see people who voted for this or didn't vote at all enjoy their consequences outweighs my desire to help people at all.

We raised our girls on volunteering for service to the community. Can't count how many roofs we've been on for habitat for humanity, how many meals we've delivered, and how many hours sorting and stacking boxes at the food bank. All of that stopped the night of the election. I will not use my time and resources to support those who voted for, or failed to vote against, having me and my family persecuted. And there's well over a hundred million of them roaming the streets of this country, and a majority of this state.

We shifted all of our efforts to animal charities. Because fuck Americans.

Mother. Fucking. This.

Check out this weekend's latest This American Life when y'all get a chance. In a rarity, they devoted the entire hour to a single story about a man going down what basically sounds like a Qanon hole and the effects that it has on the family. Basically, the conspiracy theorist dad makes a $10,000 bet with his adult son that his 10 far-out ideas will come to pass by the end of 2025, which they reveal the results of at the end of the episode. The son takes his father up on it to see if his dad can come back to normalcy after being proven all his predictions are wrong.

You can guess the results, but I think it's still worth a listen--especially for those of you who feel like you're losing (or have lost) your parents or other family members to the cult.

It looks like it'll be available to stream after 7pm this evening.

Let's not forget the acquiescent, who couldn't be moved to vote at all. A vast majority of Americans would not vote against this abortion of rational governance and plunge into tyranny.

I have limited resources of what I can do to help someone. None of those resources will go to the betrayors of the republic.

Respectfully, @InkaUtexas, it is their fault in the same sense that ignorance is no defense for breaking the law. These people need a harsh lesson in humility. They hold themselves above other citizens for the most superficial of reasons. They want pain and hardship for those other citizens or non-citizens who actually do contribute to the nation.

We may all be in the shit in a year because of Trump. Even in the shit, I will have little consideration for those who voted us there or sat passively by.

Have spent a fair amount of time in Germany the past few years.  Their cultural take on their national character in the nazi times is solid, I think.

They discuss the events leading up to, during, and after the war very matter-of-factly.  I was just in the museum on the history of the city of Frankfurt.  No whitewashing of the shit that went down, and how it went down.  Frank display and discussion of how the city got bombed to hell.  And through all of it, there's a running theme, even if it's unspoken -- "we had it coming."  There is no protest ("they didn't have to bomb us THAT much!"), no explanation or justification ("we were snookered by a really bad guy, honestly, he tricked us into being nazi shitheels!")...none of that.  Just frank "we went full nazi, and as a result, we got blown to smithereens.  The whole country.  Damn near every building in many cities.  That's what fucking happens."

That's where we are.  And that's why I say that we ALL have it coming, and NONE of us are absolved.  "I voted a different way" doesn't cut it.  If you aren't doing shit to throw sand in the gears and actively resist and fight back, then you're a willing accessory.

And yes, the time is coming, sooner than you think, where some of those decision points will include "am I willing to die to stop this?"  Y'all think I'm over-the-top, speaking in hyperbole, all that shit.  That's what people thought in Germany in 1933, too.
