Pretty sure he's also a pedophile, he was on the Epstein flights.

Sure, sure, but Trumpers think it is. Before I fully understood what Incredulity was I was trying to demonstrate that DOGE isn't effectively rooting out what fraud there is so that maybe he'd see the error in defending it.

Ain't no "probably" about it.

As a result of this admin's action, the American people will end up paying MORE for what they get....and will get a lot less than they used to.  "Hey, Americans, aren't you going to love it when 1) your tax outlay goes UP, 2) you get LESS in government benefit, services, and protection, and 3) billionaires get a massive tax break and pay LESS than you do?"  That's the actual scenario here.  And the opposition can't deliver a tight message like that.

Yeah, that and installing loyalists throughout the government.

On the privatization angle, how long before NASA is disbanded and its entire budget is redirected to SpaceX?

for the one millionth time, they aren’t MAGA talking points, they are what reality calls lies and misinformation. You have a right to an opinion, but not a right to what Trump‘s per secretary called alternative facts.

The bigger problem is, they can’t make a point without lying about something that is easily disapproval. Like Ukraine is the cause of Russia invading them.  You can ignore that those beliefs are not fact based, but don’t ask us to

USG went through a complete procurement process for ATC. For any who know that process, it is quite thorough for something that big. I imagine maybe some of the bigs also competed. Lockheed, Boeing, AWS, etc.

It was not a DEI contract. Now consider what was spent on the governments side for that process. Probably more than tree fiddy.

Contract was awarded in 2023. Assume it had a 180 mobilization, launch. Hire people, set up offices, all that shit. Then the right equipment is ordered. Cables, etc.

I bet they had a 12 month window for all that. That is before 1 component is installed.

Fast forward. Trump says it is not working (he read a GAO report?) Elon says he can do it. Elon gets the contract.

All of that cost from USG saying they were thinkng about a new contract for ATC until the decision to say nah, starlink, was already paid for. Probably 5 years of effort (so the contract started the bid process when who was President?) is gone.

Now we start over. Starlink have a out of the box, ready to go system, fully integrated? All parts ordered? Staff on board? Cleared?

Yay?

Okay, this is the post that did it.  I have been trying to decide if you were just a person with a differing viewpoint, which would be perfectly fine, or if you are unintelligent and part of the MAGA cult.  Turns out, you are an unintelligent person.  First, you use the highest end of the range to try to make your point.  Strike one as being disingenuous.  Second, everyone is against fraud in government spending, except those, I guess, who are committing the fraud or profiting from it in some way.  Third, what DOGE is doing is just wantonly slashing things, mostly in the form of jobs (I suppose because everyone in business knows that payroll is your highest expense).  And, not coincidentally, they are jobs within departments that as a matter of policy the Trump administration and Republicans/conservatives don't like, like USAID and other programs that help mostly poor people. Policy differences are not the same as fraud.  That is totally illogical and, frankly, anti-democratic; strike two. Lastly, the numbers here are a very small fraction of the total budget.  Would everyone like fraud in government spending to be as low as possible?  Of course!  Is it possible for it to ever be zero?  Fuck no!  Whenever you have an organization as large and as complex as the federal government, even a vastly shrunken version of it, fraud will always be possible and it will always happen.  Total failure to understand the way the real world works - strike three.  You're out.

Ain't no "might" about it.  Blaming trannies and browns for all of our ills was 100% the winning play.

The hate engine is the only engine firing on all cylinders these days.  So....the Dems ought to build a fucking V-10 version and stomp on the pedal.  "Republicans hate you -- they want to end your jobs so you end up working for slave wages for billionaires.  They want to take away your healthcare.  They want to close ALL of your schools.  They want you to pay for government handouts to billionaires, while a billionaire pays less in taxes than you do.  They want to hand the land of the free and the home of the working man over to fatcats who shit on gold-plated toilets, and who think that all of you REAL, hardworking Americans, are suckers.  You're not suckers.  You're Americans.  And Americans fight back when someone is screwing them over."  Hell, it doesn't even have to be true (we know this).  Just tight, inflammatory, and repeated incessantly.  Seriously, when a member of the media asks a Dem politician what their favorite flavor of ice cream is.....what I typed should be the answer.

The first part of your post is why it won't work. Unless they conclude with "oh and we hate trannies and browns now too" none of that matters to the average voter. It's why I've given up all hope. I think it would be a true disservice if dems jumped on the hate train to win elections but without it they'll continue to lose. I honestly don't know the answer at this point.

John Deere’s shareholders rejected a proposal to abolish DEI projects in that company. I think shareholders voting in favor of the proposal numbered less than 2%. So, I am not giving up hope.

You're right that they need a target -- that's why I pick billionaires.  Demonize the CEOs of health insurers.  Blame everything bad in the world on Elon Musk, whether he's involved in it or not (remember "SOROS!"?)  Trump is buddying up to Russian oligarchs now -- he wants to sell US citizenship to rich criminals who will hurt American workers.  Billionaires and rich criminals -- that's the enemy.  They are sipping expensive champagne on yachts while you work your ass off to barely pay your bills.  Do what Americans do -- fight back.

Definitely worth a shot, gotta try something new, and pulling on hate strings appears to be key. I have no faith it would work, but should be tried.

Prove the fraud! “Fraud” is just now code for “spending I don’t like”. The actual inspector generals had offices and budgets and their jobs were- get this- to root out waste, fraud and abuse. And they all got fired without new replacements. Those people had to hold actual investigations and then make public findings. Now Elon posts lies and then impounds funds appropriated by Congress. What a great system that is definitely about fraud and not just showy bullshit to distract from firing all the regulators trying to hold his companies accountable

Funny how republicans use fraud and waste interchangeably but stand on legal distinctions between rape and sexual assault
