There’s plenty of jobs in secondary and tertiary cities. These are your state capitals and college towns

Yes, Austin, Sacramento, Boston, Columbus, Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Nashville and Indianapolis are all wonderful state capitals to live.   They just are small.

You have to move to Bangor, Omaha, Salem (OR), Helena, etc to get that "small city" feeling.

Smaller than Seguin, Lufkin, and Nacogdoches. Not a city. Not even a large town.

They may be wonderful state capitals, but they’re stuck in red Gileads like Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia, Indiana, and Arizona

The Arizona that has a D governor, AG, secretary of state and two US senators? It’s not quite like the others in your list.

Bangor is the capital of Maine.   It's the 3rd largest city/town/village/burg/whatever in that state.

Legacy media is too busy dissecting the election.

They’ve already lost interest in Trumps cabinet picks bc there are just too many unqualified people to try and find information on.

It’s easier to just muse on the meaning of the election than to do anything close to reporting the facts, etc.

So even if these people were angry, you wouldn’t hear about it. Palestine was soooo early 2024. Its played out

That has left business executives scratching their heads about how to lobby for exemptions from the steep tariffs Trump has promised on imports from China, Canada, Mexico and other countries.

It was fascinating, was listening to NPR this morning.  They had a dude on who was the leader of the big Hispanic evangelical group.  When the interviewer pressed him on Trump's positions, his take was essentially "We believe that Trump will do the things he said he would do that we support....but we don't think he'll do the things he said he would do that we don't support."

It is still amazing, it still blows my mind.  Trump says he will do 10 things.  They vote for him because they totally support him doing the first 5 things, and believe he'll do them because "Trump keeps his promises."  Then on the next 5 things, they think they are terrible ideas, and even though he said he will do them, he won't really, because "Trump just says things."  These thoughts come out of the same supporter's brain in the same minute.  It's fucking incredible.

He isn't a she doesn't come across as well as simply being stupid.

This can’t possibly be a thing. I mean I’ve read the company handbook and the policy on kickbacks; they’re strictly forbidden. Right? Right?

Doesn't that just sum up our electorate and Christianity perfectly.

In retrospect, Palin was a huge indicator to the tsunami heading our way. If they do what they campaigned on, we willingly signed up for the brake less cliff hanger ride.

Sheeeeeet, by summer you will have the CEO of (fillintheblank) Corporation (whatever corporation is directly impacted by tarrifs or some other tomfoolery at that time) having a photo op in the Oval handing over some giant check made out to Donald.

Sydney gets it.

Trump could implement tariffs that plainly and directly bankrupt 50% of Americans, and this will be the messaging:

The CEOS of America ain't doing jackshit against Trump's policies. Not a damn fucking thing of consequence.

If they were, they would have already done it before the election.

Let the leopards feast in boardrooms across America.

Leopards in CEO bedrooms, too, for that matter. Gotta be some dildos of consequences for billionaires and their concubines.

Don’t think so.  Business leaders think they’re going to benefit personally hence they don’t care what happens otherwise.  I really don’t think these guys will lose because the game is rigged.

Even Ana has stopped castigating US policy on Israel/Palestine post election, which is weird given the incoming administration is so keen to be seen as more supportive of Israel that the current WH, and the named new Ambassador to Israel was quoted as saying there is no such thing as Palestine. He has since focused his hate on Israel. I’m open to arguments he is not so far up Putin’s ass he might be compared to a tapeworm.

Can't speak for everyone on this board, but I believe many of us can tolerate a little of financial pain compared to the masses.

Extra $2-3K/year to account for tariffs will suck, but it's a small % compared to some uninformed Trump supported. I hope they fucking suffer under a Republican administration.

He may.  But your deep concern about multiple such issues with respect to Biden.....but the complete and total free pass you give to Trump (particularly when he's WORSE on those issues than Biden) renders some pretty solid body blows to your credibility.

What free pass have I given Trump wrt Israel? On the cabinet thread I pointed out that his foreign policy team is basically hand picked by Miriam Adelson. I said that before Huckabee was mentioned, frankly haven't see that appointment discussed much, but I think that it is precisely in line with that prior statement. Y'all conjure up the weakest strawmen and then high five each other when you knock it down. Don't worry, when Trump is signing military packages that include bombs to be dropped on apartments full of Palestinian women and children I'll still be here to bitch about it. I appreciate that if only because Trump is involved a few more of you will all the sudden find a way to stretch out your voice.

I have been consistent wrt criticizing our foreign policy and the scope of foreign military aid in general, and wrt Israel in particular, over four different administrations, across parties and across the decades here. You on the other hand, you blow like a feather in the wind. It wasn't always that way with you, but you know where you are.

Biden or a Dem does it: Anastasis is all up in arms, with cryptic question/criticisms of every act.

WRT Israel, is not often that the US president gets to ride shotgun during an ethnic cleansing operation executed by their closest allie and historically largest recipient of US military aide. Even you recognize the singularly unique nature of what has taken place over the last 12+ months, and the absolutely hollowness and self clowning nature of Biden's leadership on the issue. I will certain miss Matt Miller behind the podium at state. He's a very special type of sociopath.

Trump does it: a passing reference to "I didn't vote for Trump," and that's pretty much it.

When Trump funds, arms, and provides unrelenting cover for an ethnic cleansing operation implemented by Israel, I'll be right there to criticize it. When he signs off on military packages to Saudi Arabia (aka pariah state), I will criticize that as well, as I did last go around. When he dumps more arms into the Ukraine conflict, guess what, I will criticize that too.

You just insulted Chamberlain.  That was a heavy lift, but you managed to do it.  Neville had much more admirable intent and awareness of what was actually happening.
