The single most important thing that has to change

Four -Five years ago I openly stated that any one of the democratic candidates in that podium would beat Trump, the important question was what came after, I opposed Biden because I saw him as weak and in love with the status quo, the chickens came home to roost. The failure was the presidency, the failure was playing the game with the economic elites, the failure was allowing republican blocking to shackle him. Biden needed to be the most "I will fight for you president in history!" instead he was "I will work with Republicans!"

I opposed him, too, but he won the nomination.

He should have announced he wasn't running again after the mid-terms.

But he didn't, and here we are.

ITs debatable that the midterms were even good enough by then we had succumbed to the trap about people suffering through poverty, I guarantee that if the orange moron does high inflation with handouts he will not lose a vote and the media will look dumbfounded like always., he needed to be a great president that worked for the working class of all races, like really fought like hell, and then told them to take a hike about his age. That or elect the next great candidate as VP (Kamala sadly had racist and sexist problems) and let him go to ham in year 1.

Nah dude. We're constantly changing. Entropy around us and aging within.

Are you going to get worse, more cynical and jaded? Or are you going to try to be a helper? Someone who can make things better?

The goal is 1% better each day.

Kamala went to great lengths to court the GOP vote, she only got like 5% which is historically normal, like anyone could have got that. It is a problem of fundamentals, not of perfect candidacies, we should know by now that shit candidacies are not a death knell, just that Trump collected all the idiot pokemons.

The Biden administration ... however well-intended ... will go down in history as an abject failure for not dealing with Trump and all the January 6 actors. Merrick Garland had time to go after Google, but not the Fascist Mob Boss Mussolini of America.

-- We can assume that Garland and Harris (a former "tough" prosecutor) were following orders from Biden.

-- Of course, MAGA would still be around. But the FAFO would be huge.

-- After all, what the hell was the purpose of the Jan 6 hearings in Summer 2022?

In the end, a complete and total failure.

Hopefully there's a complete reset on the perceived advantage of the incumbent. It no longer makes a shit and no important decision should take it into account.

I agree as bad as Andrew Johnson who destroyed reconstruction after all that blood was spilled.

We need to talk about the only thing people care about, their pocket book, its the economy stupid in the 90s was about the stock market and macro stuff, but right now it is poverty. I hope Trump carries out the mass austerity Musk wants. Its the only way to jarr people to reality. the GOP is a pro poverty party, income inequality is now at a fever pitch.

One other thing that politics has become is entertainment. Having someone with comedic skills fits this environment really well.

The power in the incumbency was in being a great leader, a great orator a great use of executive powers, watch Trump fuck it up because he is increadibly stupid, watch him implement austerity, then give up then go handouts, but at the end of the day what Biden did was worse, he was the shackled president. Never screaming about how the GOP is hurting working class people, had he done it over and over and over again, EO after EO all day long his presidency would have been popular.

Yeah people are such dirty liars too, just say you want trump because he entertained you, don't say he "doesnt really mean that!" its like people gain satisfaction that they think they know Trump, that they are smarter than he is and he is funny! Like ideocracy squared.

I have said it multiple times, inflation is code word for poverty, when real wages rise inflation is not a problem when real wages don't increase inflation bites, look at this way if inflation was 100% YoY but your salary rose 200% would you be livid? real wages are barely increasing and inflation bit, when you consider real wages rising is an average, meaning some people really saw a reduction in earnings you get people flipping votes in protests, I still !@#!$! about it but at least I understand it.

The funny thing is that "identity politics" got us Joe Biden.

I know one of the principles of a Democratic PAC. He openly stated they were supporting Biden because Dems needed an old White dude to beat the GOP old White dude. There was no one in that lane in 2020 other than Joe and Bernie. And Bernie ain't getting (or taking) PAC money.

Biden's mistake was not stepping away after the MID-TERMS. He was clearly declining physically. He could've gone out on top. Harris would be president for 2 years. I think Harris would have done a better job on Gaza and promoting the good policies the Biden administration achieved.

I have heard several people say that Trump is entertaining and they like that in their politics. Truth be told, his first presidency didn't do much because they were so incompetent.

If they have a trifecta (pray no) + a compliant SCOTUS (which they do), it will be FAFO time.

And this is why we are where we are. I’ve said it before, people are too stupid to understand the difference between what they see on their screens and reality. It’s all just reality TV for them. They are about to reap it.

Leopards are already eating faces and have been for a couple of years. The people that somehow can’t ever see that also didn’t see Kamala losing.

so you are suggesting that we pander to ignorant gullible people and support things that will hurt their lives because they are so ignorant they don’t understand the things we explain to them to help protect against the lies? Gotcha.

Now, we were always a nation of ignorant, gullible people, but they were generally held in check because they had no podcasts or Facebook or Fox News telling them all the false things that they believed and voted upon.

If Walter Cronkite and Huntley and Brinkley and your local newspaper were still providing our information - Trump would not be president.

at some level, it is as simple as that.

Just to name a few things.

Hmn I guess the dates are wrong 1932 then, WWI was fabricated war vs woke people, why need a real war when you can fabricate one? Versalles is letting the "election be stolen" that is their never again slogan and why I think fair elections are over, lastly they deluded themselves into thinking our inflationary period was hyper inflation.

R's successfully attached Harris to Biden's economy

Trump circled around and talked to Netanyahu

Trump circled around and talked to Putin

Trump effectively tapped into white people's superiority complex by saying Harris was low IQ and not qualified(look at Sack's posts about the bar)

R's effectively tapped into the white population's fear of being outnumbered by browns

R's effectively fear mongered against the LGBTQ community

Bottom line it was just too much to overcome. If any one of these issues wasn't there Harris wins. Problem was they all had to be overcome at the same time.

That explains why democrats didn’t show up for Kamala like they did Biden?

It was inflation. If we consider GHWB as a third Reagan term then the only presidents in modern history not reelected to a second consecutive term were Carter (inflation), Trump, and Biden (inflation).

it was always a massive, massive headwind for her.

Everything about this post, from the truly stupid belief that sending EDA Bradley IFVs affects your pocketbook to the astoundingly cruel “who gives AF if Ukrainian parents get shoveled into mass graves and their kids carted off to Magnitogorsk as long as I made it to Six Flags” is the perfect distillation of why you will never have the America you want.  You don’t deserve it and you will never get it, because the things you say, believe, and do will never, ever create the conditions for it.

Two things A) the past is done finitio don't care, its over, we live in a strange new world Reagan and Carter might as well be Cleopatra B) again inflation is a code word for poverty, poverty is increasing in the US at a record pace, this is the begining of the start of populism. Trump mitigated it with COVID handouts that Biden let lapse should have doubled down on them with exective orders over and over and over again.

Right and do you remember what it was like to be middle class in 1978-1985? Strangled by cost increases and costs to borrow. They go hand in hand. The point though is that inflation - and you can call it what you want - has always strangled  the lower and middle classes it’s why it’s so imperative you kill it like the cancer it is. As it was we’ve had 3-4 years of it, imagine 10+ like the 70s and 80s. That shit was wild. You can’t survive as POTUS with inflation you just can’t.

Y'all cool with the preventable murders foisted on us by progressive DAs and judges that took assloads of campaign money from Soros.  Like my friend gunned down at a Houston McDonalds last spring by some piece of dumpster lice out on low bail with a long felony record that was indicted the day before for aggravated assault.

Or preventable murders caused by open borders and unvetted illegals.  Fuck them victims too, right!

"Soros" DAs had nothing to do with bail reform in Houston, Texas.

Bail reform was mandated by a court case affirmed by the 5th Circuit, specifically in an opinion authored by Edith Brown Clement, she-wolf of the SS.  https://casetext.com/case/odonnell-v-harris-cnty-11

I have seen a lot of governments survive high inflation, see Argentina, they had brutal austerity in the 2002s, 22 years of RELATIVE peace  with high inflation and high handouts, 2024 a brutal period of austerity and then hopefully 22 years of RELATIVE peace, granted I just hope Cristinas new handouts are smarter.

Instead we got 4 years of peace only. And Trump is worse danger than Milei. Nordic countries are practicing with UBI we need something like that, but instead got Biden's gee wiz.

RELATIVE means no end of the world racism, fascism and hatred.
