How do we know that isn't happening?  I mean, the dildo thread is full of unsubstantiated memes like this.  Who knows where they are coming from?  It could be a racist piece of shit emboldened by Trump, could be Russia using his win as an opportunity to sow chaos and fear, could be someone just in it for the lulz or it could be people on the left taking a page from the Trump playbook to use manufactured fear and anger to try to fuel a movement.  The scariest part?  I don't have a strong sense of which of those is most likely true.

We live in a post-factual world now, and the disinformation genie is not going back into the bottle.

While I absolutely agree with your post--it's almost certainly disinformation, and who the fuck knows where it originated--that meme/screenshot will disappear into the ether in a day. It won't be picked up and amplified by Dan Bodingo and Megyn Kelly. It won't be discussed on OAN, Fox News, and Newsmax. It won't cause a sitting GOP Congresswoman to tweet out her disgust of right-wing rhetoric. Elon Musk won't take the time to note it's "concerning." The President of the United States won't reference it the next time him opens his mouth.

They've created a fast track for turning pure baseless propaganda into perceived fact before anyone can blink. Texas politicians regularly link stories to the Gateway Pundit, for fuck's sake.

We'll never be able to stop disinformation at the lowest levels, but it's frustrating to see it propagate with such planned effect.

They don't believe he is a grifter... because their propaganda\messaging apparatus runs over everything.  Which is why we need to mobilize to get better messaging to the places where people are being indoctrinated... social media, YT, podcasts etc...

CNN also settled.  WaPo also settled.

The mass media sucks.  They had half the country believing Kyle Rittenhouse killed 3 black protesters, the Covid mortality rate was 30%, and that cops kill "thousands of unarmed black people a year.  The most recent is those disingenuous cunts parroting that Trump was calling for the execution of Liz Cheney.  There is plenty of disinformation from the mass media and that's why Elon being red pilled and buying Twitter was massive.

This is pretty disingenuous.  NBC, WaPo and CNN paid a settlement, the terms of which were confidential.  Could have been millions; could have been nuisance value.  The remaining 5 cases were later dismissed, which was upheld on appeal and then not taken up by SCOTUS.  To compare this little shit to the Fox settlement is absurd.

We're in  the state of Texas. You can find cases in our state alone where women were denied life saving care. There was a woman who died just before the election. She went to 3 different hospitals, she was bleeding down her legs, her mother was begging, screaming for help.  She went septic and died.  In Texas.  You can google women arrested for miscarriage to find cases where it has happened.

If what you said is true, that is medical malpractice and has zero to do with Texas' law.  Nothing in the Texas law prohibits the prompt medical treatment of a woman suffering from an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage, or abortion complications.  Here is the text of the law:

(1) "Abortion" means the act of using or prescribing an instrument, a drug, a medicine, or any other substance, device, or means with the intent to cause the death of an unborn child of a woman known to be pregnant. The term does not include birth control devices or oral contraceptives. An act is not an abortion if the act is done with the intent to:
(A) save the life or preserve the health of an unborn child;
(B) remove a dead, unborn child whose death was caused by spontaneous abortion; or
(C) remove an ectopic pregnancy.

(2) "Abortion facility" means a place where abortions are performed.
(3) Repealed by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 1, Sec. 3.1639(62), eff. April 2, 2015.
(4) "Department" means the Department of State Health Services.
(4-a) "Ectopic pregnancy" means the implantation of a fertilized egg or embryo outside of the uterus.
(4-b) "Executive commissioner" means the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission.
(5) "Patient" means a female on whom an abortion is performed, but does not include a fetus.
(6) "Person" means an individual, firm, partnership, corporation, or association.
Tex. Health and Safety Code § 245.002

Texas currently prohibits abortion unless “in the exercise of reasonable medical judgment, the pregnant female on whom the abortion is performed, induced, or attempted has a life-threatening physical condition aggravated by, caused by, or arising from a pregnancy that places the female at risk of death or poses a serious risk of substantial impairment of a major bodily function unless the abortion is performed or induced.” Tex. Health & Safety Code § 170A.002(b).

Texas law even specifically defines “reasonable medical judgment,” -- it’s already a familiar standard: “a medical judgment made by a reasonably prudent physician, knowledgeable about a case and the treatment possibilities for the medical conditions involved.” Tex. Health & Safety Code § 170A.001(4).

Since 2013, and well before Dobbs, Texas law prohibited abortions after twenty weeks post-fertilization. That law contains a medical exception if, “in the physician’s reasonable medical judgment,” an abortion is necessary to “avert the woman’s death or a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major
bodily function.” Those provisions have never been challenged for vagueness.  So the idea that doctors don't know what reasonable medical judgment is does not work.

I saw one woman's death the media blamed on Dobbs.  Turns out it was in 2020.  Two years prior to Dobbs.

Not only have at least two women died directly because of the abortion ban, but maternal mortality is way up.  It's not as simple as allowing ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage abortion; there are far-reaching consequences.

The amount of shit that basically went completely under the radar with Trump is insane.  He's a terrible business person.  Besides the bankruptcies, he's literally had dozens of other failed businesses that didn't require bankruptcy protection.  They just quietly shut down operations.  The people at The Apprentice admitted that they made up the narrative about him being a good businessman to sell the show.  We never made a dent in the BS veneer of his business acumen.

The Epstein shit was also insane.  Trump was best friends with the worst child trafficker in US history.  He got a pass from the media.  Trump was accused of child rape from boys and girls. He's in pictures with some of the accusers.  He was on Epstein's pedo plane at least 6 or 7 times that we know of.  He's mentioned in the released court documents something like 170 times, and all the documents haven't been released, not even close.  He never paid a price.  Hell, it didn't even get airtime.   We likely just elected a child rapist to the White House FFS.

We have to fix our messaging and our information distribution mechanisms.  The above is just a handful of things he could be hit on, that basically flew under the radar.  If it was Biden who was besties with Epstein, you know that the right would make sure every person in America heard about it.  We have to revamp everything so we can get our narrative in front of people to at least have a chance.

I made a super long post the other day in the "Active Measures . . . Propaganda" thread that I won't copy here, but I agre 100% that propaganda is at work. What I think people aren't comprehending is that it is not disinformation per se, it is the pervasive demonization of liberals since the 1990's beginning with conservative talk radio to Fox News to today with all of that plus podcasts and a proliferation of information sources that, as noted above, are coordinated to amplify eachother and to enforce echo chambers.

I'm a former conservative/republican voter and still run in a lot of those circles. We have gone from a time of good faith debate to today when every attempt to talk about it ends at "yeah but liberals are trying to destroy the country." No amount of insanity, stupidity, racism, hate, crime, and treason from Trump could break through that simple message that has been pushed for decades and has poisoned more than half the electorate.

I think one solution would be to try to make propaganda a topic in the conversation. HIghlight studies like the one mentioned above showing conservatives favor democrat policies when they are presented without , put out documentaries about propaganda affecting americans, keep spreading the word. If enough people realize they are being conned, they won't go back to voting that way. If we don't, democrats will end up trying to change in ways and fix things that aren't really the problem, and voters will keep ping ponging back and forth when they get pissed enough.

Y'all cool with the preventable murders foisted on us by progressive DAs and judges that took assloads of campaign money from Soros.  Like my friend gunned down at a Houston McDonalds last spring by some piece of dumpster lice out on low bail with a long felony record that was indicted the day before for aggravated assault.

Or preventable murders caused by open borders and unvetted illegals.  Fuck them victims too, right!

Funding to combat\counter disinformation.  It is clear we have lost the information war.  We brought a knife to a gun fight and lost.  When you look at what Tim Poole, Candaice Owens etc put out, the videos are polished and professional looking.  They sound plausible. These creators have a team of editors, researchers, cameramen and writers.  They can produce multiple videos a day that look great and sound plausible.  They get large pay and support staff.  Our content creators have to rely on monetization and have to do all the work themselves.  They'll never be able to keep up.

PraegerU is brilliant.  It's evil, but brilliant.  People have short attention spans these days. They create short videos with great graphics that are easy to understand and follow.  They promote bullshit, but that's not the point.  The format and concept are brilliant.

We have lost multiple generations of people, young men in particular, to extremely well funded propaganda.  It may be really hard to win them back.  The Russian money and conservative money are literally killing our country.  Russian propaganda has been frighteningly effective.  Conservative people cheer at the mention of Putin or Orban.  They've been convinced we're not even a democracy.  They have been successfully turned against some of the most important tenets of western democracy.   Their misinformation has made it to the halls of Congress.  Russia got a president elected twice.  My god, that's the most effective propaganda campaign in the history of the world.

We need to fund our own counter campaign. We are getting slaughtered in the information wars.  If we can't respond to this fast, I fear we will never recover.

The liberal talking heads that aren't on MSM are just completely insufferable. The ones on MSM, outside of like the Daily Show or John Oliver, aren't good, either, but most of the liberal content I come across on YouTube is pure garbage, even if I agree with it. Most of it seems to be someone showing someone else's video and breaking down how they got owned or something. Like I need some asshole talking into my ear about how the mean conservative just got embarrassed.

But then I also really don't get conservative media. Hannity is just an asshole, and Mark Levin does nothing but go on a whiny rant for his entire show, leaving me embarrassed for him after a few minutes. I've honestly never watched any Candace Owens or Ben Shapiro content, other than clips of when they say something completely insane.

As someone who attended a good law school and passed the bar with ease, this cannot be overstated. To pass the bar, you just have to put in the work and have half a brain. She either wasn’t willing to work hard or doesn’t have half a brain, or in her case more likely both. 82% of her class at her mediocre law school passed when she failed. So she was in the bottom 18% of a mediocre school. Not really what you’re looking for in a candidate for president.

The California bar exam is more difficult than whatever rinky dink 3rd world country you got your degree from. 28% of first time test takes failed it. The one she passed on the 2nd attempt has a passing rate for 45.9%

Van Jones is starting to get it.  Hopefully it spreads up.  We're doomed if leadership doesn't make massive course corrections.

“We got beat because the conservatives and Republicans built a different media system,” Jones said on the channel Thursday. “It had to do with online, had to do with podcasts, with streaming platforms. And they were spending their money there.”

Jones bemoaned that many Democrats and mainstream media outlets were “laughing at Trump for throwing away his ground game and doing weird stuff online.”

“It turned out we were the idiots,” he continued. “We woke up in a body bag because while we were knocking on doors, they were making these phones into 24-hour-a-day political weapons for themselves.”

It really isn't.  They have 19 non ABA accredited law schools in California.  It drags down their pass rates because idiots who cannot get into accredited law schools get to sit for the bar in California.  The first time pass rate for California is usually similar Texas when you just factor in ABA accredited law schools.

Kamala went to one of those, despite it being a third tier school.  76% of California bar takers from ABA accredited law schools pass.  https://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/documents/admissions/Examinations/July-2023-CBX-Statistics.pdfShe was in the other 24%.
