It also hasn't spent a dime of that money.  States had to make application for that money and a lot of them dicked around and needlessly fought over free money, in many cases prodded by telecom companies who didn't want to give low rates.

I assume they are having the same issues with the money set aside to build EV charging stations/infastrure?

They poll aggregate said the states that matter where tossups, Sezler was really really wrong though, but it was not an aggregate, aggreagate had Iowa in the his column.

Polls did way better than last year, to my disappointment,

I know all about that opinion.  I know very well the Susman lawyer who won the case.  Its holding applies to indigent misdemeanor defendants and per se cash bail requirements.

The murder i am referencing is a horse of another color. This was a violent felon with a long rap sheet.  He was given low bail based on the recommendation of a Soros bought prosecutor and a progressive judge.  It’s catch and release. They did not have to give low bail to this piece of shit.  They did.  If you switched the Harris County justice system with the Montgomery County folks, my friend would still be alive.

This shit happens twice a week in Harris County.  People around here are fed up and it led to a rightward shift in the local vote.

A populist leader needs a common enemy to rally against. Pick the episcopalians and we could possibly steal some of the gross Baptists from the Republicans.

Not much .... across 25 years.

Just a long-time writer (books, essays), artist, sometimes public intellectual .... Even been quoted a few times in the holy New York Times. But I'm not famous, just small fry compared to TED talkers, social media influencers, fascist podcasters, celeb writers, etc. Just doing my fucking best to creatively engage and enlighten people. In public arenas.

Politics is not my speciality, mine is art and philosophy. But I've been warning liberals for 30 years about the dangers of Republicans+religion only to be told I am an alarmist. Time, and time again. I have failed in that goal. This nation just not believe that unchecked religious power is a problem.

But, I am out in the public and trying. Not just a trash talking keyboard warrior.

Have the hearing expedited, and when he doesn’t show up for inauguration because of incarceration, allow the previous administration to act as regent until he completes his sentence. Which should be about 4-8 years. President Biden can resign and defer to President Kamala.

You implied something systemic like bail reform.  Kim Ogg has been opposed to it nearly from the time she took office, despite running as a progressive.

Bail fuckups happen all the time, everywhere, for all kinds of reasons.  There's been no reporting of Anthony Landry Martin being out on PR or some absurdly low bail, just that he was out on bail.  Nor is it reported that his offenses prior to the agg domestic assault were violent.

ETA:  The domestic assault was hitting a family member with a cane, for which he got a 10k bond.  https://scallywagandvagabond.com/2024/05/anthony-martin-landry-angry-mcdonalds-customer-wanted-shooting-murder-jeffrey-limmer/

This site indicates that average bond in progressive Tarrant County for a 3rd degree felony is 2500. https://www.bhwlawfirm.com/fort-worth-bail-bonds/

They were violent.  He just lived in other jurisdictions.  So they don’t show up on Harris County website.  He has a long rap sheet in federal court and in Fort Bend county and Louisiana.  People are extremely pissed.  He did manage to avoid trouble for ten years. But only because he was in prison.

The case you cited has no application to him being out on bail on felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  Something he was indicted for literally the day before he murdered Jeff

If he was indicted for it the day before, he probably didn't bond out.  Records indicate he was indicted in February and bonded out thereafter.

You're going to have to show your work here.  You have alleged, without evidence, that Martin was out on bail because of progressive prosecutors, Soros-funded ones to be precise.

The only fact is that Martin was out on bail.  That happens.  Quite often, in fact, in all jurisdictions.

The only universal constant is poverty, we are hitting the limit of what is peaceful social income inequality, we will have crazy shit happening going forward.

I don't know what the peaceful solution is though, maybe socially acceptable fake jobs under UBI funded by AI and automation, but in the past the wealth was syphoned from poor countries to prevent internal revolt, but this time it is not enough.

It was good for a few points in the black community amongst the self-loathing black people. I ran into a few of those weirdos.

Yesterday my wife came home crying. She was talking to an older couple and they got on the subject of kids. Like a lot of parents do, she showed them a picture. The guy then told her that she was in sin because she married interracially, not knowing my wife is half Asian(she has blue eyes). Then he started talking about how Trump was going to get the country back for them and right the ship.

Those "Take America Back" flags mean something. It's a dog-whistle that has worked for generations. Now the racists are back out and emboldened. This next 4 years is going to be an absolute shitshow and we deserve every bit of it. I have my popcorn ready.

You know we have data on how red districts perform elsewhere right? Look at the states to the right of us. Head on over the West Virginia. Plenty of red districts with worse crime per capita than Harris. You folks with your same, easily refutable talking points. "Crime would stop if Rs controlled the criminal justice system". Hahahaha. Rs are the reason for the crime in the first place since the one truth is poor people commit crimes.

So looking at the first few: Claiming Trump has a quid-pro-quo with Russia is not left-wing progoganda/disinformation?

Defamation part of the 4th one is ongoing still.

"Trump linked to porn-linked bank" not left-wing disinformarion?

That was not the point.  Trump filed a bunch of reputationally related lawsuits (that isn't all of them, either) that were dismissed on First Amendment grounds, for the most part.  That is, the Sullivan rule applied in the Dominion case.

If by "fourth one" you mean the Mary Trump case, NYT was dismissed out of if on 1A grounds, Mary was still in it last time anyone checked because she breached an NDA, allegedly.   Trump wanted that to be a defamation case, but two problems, truth and limitations.  So he attacked the source of the information, Mary, and NYT for publishing it.

And no that's not disinformation, it's accurate w/r/t the porn-linked bank's investment in Trump Media.  The quid pro quo was an opinion based on facts set forth in the editorials, and thus not actionable.

It's a world wide phenomena.  Not even we are immune.  In the long run hopefully no one culture will rule this country.

Not the Christian, or any other religious culture

or Gender Ideology

or Any Race

We'll function better as a big grey area, AKA the melting pot.  Some people are just having a hard time melting, that's all.

They’ve been trending MAGA since 2016.  They went through Trump’s first term and went even more right.  Then Biden and Harris and even more right.  This isn’t something that just happened last week. Again, they don’t like the bullshit that white progressives are selling.  Do you know any of them?

I lived in the Valley for three years.  I can speak the language pretty well.  I still spend a lot of time in south Texas at the ranch.  I see the explosion of flags and bumper stickers and signs in places like Duval County that used to be 90 percent Democrat.

You guys don’t understand how fucked the border has become the last 4 years.  You don’t understand that Hispanics aren’t cool with transgender transitions for kids or tampons in boys bathrooms.  Or biological males playing against girls. They are mostly hard working people who are very patriotic and have traditional values.  They have nothing in common with the typical limo liberal/government worker/academic progressive on this board.

I’ve got money.  But I can guarantee I could sit down with and have a lot more common with a South Texas Hispanic than most of the supposed “elites” on this board. The two families that have worked at our ranch for decades are Hispanic.  We all break bread together every time we’re down there. Their politics probably are the same as they’ve always been. But they feel democrats have moved too far to the left on social issues. They love Trump because of this.
