What, now bigoted personal attacks about homosexual oral sex are out of bounds?  Interesting, cause I see all the super duper compassionate leftists make that joke over and over and over and over here.

Exactly. Their favorite out down is to call someone a fag or cocksucker. Then the faux outrage when a gay is marginalized by someone on the right.

You mean Congressman Moulton?

"Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face," he said. "I have two little girls. I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I’m supposed to be afraid to say that."

"I stand firmly in my belief for the need for competitive women's sports to put limits on the participation of those with the unfair physical advantages that come with being born male," his statement said.

"I will fight, as I always have, for the rights and safety of all citizens. These two ideas are not mutually exclusive, and we can even disagree on them. Yet there are many who, shouting from the extreme left corners of social media, believe I have failed the unspoken Democratic Party purity test

"We did not lose the 2024 election because of any trans person or issue. We lost, in part, because we shame and belittle too many opinions held by too many voters and that needs to stop. Let’s have these debates now, determine a new strategy for our party since our existing one failed, and then unite to oppose the Trump agenda wherever it imperils American values."

But, it's not a real challenge.  It's first of all a pretty rare thing and second of all an issue of sports competitiveness.  It should be left to those bodies that have always regulated sports competitiveness.  It need not be legislated.

It should not have been a big issue in this campaign.

Oh, not sure if you've mentioned it, but the Dems racial identity politics has to change.  Whether moderate or hyper aggressive progressive their approach to poverty and opportunity has to be based solely on economic challenges/poverty and has to be completely and totally color blind.

This is the only way they can push back on the race-baiting bullshit.

Funding to combat\counter disinformation.  It is clear we have lost the information war.  We brought a knife to a gun fight and lost.  When you look at what Tim Poole, Candaice Owens etc put out, the videos are polished and professional looking.  They sound plausible. These creators have a team of editors, researchers, cameramen and writers.  They can produce multiple videos a day that look great and sound plausible.  They get large pay and support staff.  Our content creators have to rely on monetization and have to do all the work themselves.  They'll never be able to keep up.

PraegerU is brilliant.  It's evil, but brilliant.  People have short attention spans these days. They create short videos with great graphics that are easy to understand and follow.  They promote bullshit, but that's not the point.  The format and concept are brilliant.

We have lost multiple generations of people, young men in particular, to extremely well funded propaganda.  It may be really hard to win them back.  The Russian money and conservative money are literally killing our country.  Russian propaganda has been frighteningly effective.  Conservative people cheer at the mention of Putin or Orban.  They've been convinced we're not even a democracy.  They have been successfully turned against some of the most important tenets of western democracy.   Their misinformation has made it to the halls of Congress.  Russia got a president elected twice.  My god, that's the most effective propaganda campaign in the history of the world.

We need to fund our own counter campaign. We are getting slaughtered in the information wars.  If we can't respond to this fast, I fear we will never recover.

I agree with most of what you say.

I'm not sure how to re-instill truth as collectively valued though. Truth is a putz at this unique moment.

No one is making fun of Icono for being gay or for performing gay sex acts.   Pointing out that someone performs sex acts for meth is relavent.   When one understands this context and the level of disfunctional judgment at play, his posts actually make a lot more sense unfortunately.

Fake news. I have been clean for a long time and never performed sex acts for drugs. I always bought my own. Finally, I never revealed online that I did anything of the sort. An asshole spread that rumor when I went away to rehab. For over 30 days I had no access to internet and when I come back I see that lie being peddled. Would you like that to happen to you? So you’re peddling lies, sex and addiction shaming and being a piece of shit while in the same breath trying to pass yourself as a decent person with progressive values. Grow up.

Nah. We ridicule cocksuckers that vote for people who want to see cocksuckers marginalized or killed. Subtle difference maybe if your IQ is south of 100

Interesting you still don’t deny sucking cock. Rather you deny sucking cocks in exchange for drugs and deny revealing online that you suck cocks. Seriously no one here (other than the MAGATs and that have appeared from under the baseboards (and of course yourself) think there is anything wrong with your being a cocksucker

Thats some textbook bullying and really despicable.   It’s literally the stuff that contributes to people harming themselves. You all should be fucking ashamed.  Brutal

You talking about icono gleefully ranting about the coming regime’s retribution on surly posters and his looking forward to being an active participant in ensuring their suffering?

Or maybe his prior posts about heading down to the border to shoot people trying to cross (of course only rubber bullets would be used)

I totally agree. He and those who sympathize with him should be awfully ashamed and should do some deep introspection

Pot calling the kettle black, you fucking hypocrite — take a look at the leopard eating faces thread and the glee by your brethren that Trump supporters will see pain and destruction the next 4 years. All I said is that there will be a reckoning for those in the government/deep state for their lawfare and attempts to derail the MAGA agenda. Not even in the same ballpark as your sick comrades.

How am I hypocritical? Because I’m through being nice to assholes who are actively harming my loved ones? Fuck them and fuck you. Someone else's words about a SMU failson and other losers like them.

"There’s a substantial cohort of people (some "men") who use social media as a tool for motivated perversity. The goal is to generate disagreement.

The goal of posting isn’t to engage with ideas, but to perform knowledge and mastery over masculinized areas of expertise.

That includes politics, economics, sports, video games… Men can demonstrate their masculinity by showing off how much they know about these topics. But if you agree with someone, or embrace widely accepted views, you don’t get the chance to show how much you know!

So, men looking to perform these masculinities *have to* disagree with conventional views and/or offer up increasingly extreme views.

What does this mean for how we should treat these posters? There’s no point in engaging. Their motivation isn’t to learn, or persuade, it’s to disagree for the sake of disagreeing. They are, in a very real way, getting off on your engagement, disagreement and disgust.

The experience of some men’s lives, such as SMU failson Johnny Sack for example, hasn’t kept up with their expectations of masculinity, so they’re flailing around for some way to demonstrate their perceived gender.

It is possible to structure political and social discourse to eliminate negative motivations and make everyone more comfortable sharing ideas. But folks, social media isn’t that. Let them have their spaces to spiral into the most offensive things they can think of, but there’s no reason to help."

What we did wrong was letting unlimited money into the political arena, as an example the campaign for the open senate seat in Michigan Slotkin(D) v. Rogers(R), according to Open Secrets

Slotkin raised $45,202,000 and there was $78,467,000 in outside spending
Rogers raised $10,484,000 and there was $62,381,000 in outside spending

We have let big donors control elections and how campaigns are run; over $100 million spent to elect someone to a position that pays $174,000 (so about 1/1,000 or what is spent for the election).
I am not smart enough to figure out how to put that genie back in the bottle; but if you think these people are not agents for (pick your flavor) pharma, tech, finance, military, medicine, etc. then I have some ocean front property near Tulsa that I would like to sell you. PAC's, SuperPAC's, dark money, corporate money, etc they could care less about anything but their own balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.

We all know the CR community is well known and very helpful in making “everyone more comfortable sharing ideas.” I mean Penelope is known for her hospitality and warmth in making people comfortable with her negs and ad hominem attacks. You’re quite the wizard with the personal attacks as well. Take a look at your own posting history you fucking hypocrite.

That's certainly one element. That was, of course, done by a conservative Supreme Court.  However, even if there were still limits on political spending, that would not have stopped the propaganda machine. It exists outside of the government.

The question recurs, what will satisfy them? Simply this: We must not only let them alone, but we must somehow, convince them that we do let them alone. This, we know by experience, is no easy task. We have been so trying to convince them from the very beginning of our organization, but with no success. In all our platforms and speeches we have constantly protested our purpose to let them alone; but this has had no tendency to convince them. Alike unavailing to convince them, is the fact that they have never detected a man of us in any attempt to disturb them.

These natural, and apparently adequate means all failing, what will convince them? This, and this only: cease to call slavery wrong, and join them in calling it right. And this must be done thoroughly - done in acts as well as in words. Silence will not be tolerated - we must place ourselves avowedly with them. Senator Douglas' new sedition law must be enacted and enforced, suppressing all declarations that slavery is wrong, whether made in politics, in presses, in pulpits, or in private. We must arrest and return their fugitive slaves with greedy pleasure. We must pull down our Free State constitutions. The whole atmosphere must be disinfected from all taint of opposition to slavery, before they will cease to believe that all their troubles proceed from us.

I am quite aware they do not state their case precisely in this way. Most of them would probably say to us, "Let us alone, do nothing to us, and say what you please about slavery." But we do let them alone - have never disturbed them - so that, after all, it is what we say, which dissatisfies them. They will continue to accuse us of doing, until we cease saying.
