K then who do you think we should put back there. John Elway? Not sure he's on the roster.

Executing that quick short-pass, screen game is a lot more difficult than it looks- and he executed it beautifully today.

If we get ~250 passing yds with minimal turns out of Quinn then our defense is enough to beat literally anyone in the country. He was a lot better than that today.

I think at this point Quinn is our only option. I only saw marginal improvement over his performance against Georgia - who got their ass kicked today, but Quinn's gonna need to step it up next week and beyond. Like I said, some of the stuff we got away with today isn't gonna work against the better teams - at least not consistently. He still looks a little uneasy in the pocket.

So Sark has to figure out what Quinn is capable of and push the offensive burden onto our star receivers and running backs. Take the pressure off Quinn. I just get the feeling a straight drop back passing attack isn't going to work, and every time we call that instead of using deception and play action, we will be asking for trouble. We have a good running attack. That could be the key in getting us thru the playoffs. Keep Quinn out of third and long. If you're gonna go deep, how bout play action on first down. No stumbling around in a collapsing pocket.

So we now either need Bama to beat LSU or Georgia to beat Tennessee and we're in if we win out. Correct?

Yeah. Both losing means even us losing to Aggy would at least be a cluster fuck.

Bobby and Gerry being bitches on OTF Saying this would be a 10 point win. Any time I see them in their feelings over a game I know we're mid holing the team

That did it with Michigan and now a bad UF

This is news to me. I was confident going into today I had hit them all.

Me too. It was pretty eye opening to say the least. It's on either the last OTF or the one before

All good. You may have missed the bolded part to your post I quoted.

Yeah, it was weak…but anyway.

Moore has had a good past few weeks, and was getting a lot more targets than usual in the 1st quarter.  A huge drop and a bit of a juggle on the sideline hurt him. Sark seems to play the hot hand. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wingo get another big play or 3 before the year's over.

Gerry Hamilton is a fucking dunce. I spent a little time on on3 or wherever he's at last season and I was amazed at how big of a pussy he was for someone that was supposedly geting paid to provide an objective, professional opinion on Longhorn Sports.

It's amazing the snake-oil that those guys sell without having any credible insight or experience that would warrant their taking anyone's money.

And I am not surprised in the least. Especially with their HI and so ans so is interested, just gotta get them on campus.

Yeah, no shit. Not everyone is Aaron Butler.

Yep, Golden had 3 catches and 2 touchdowns.  Our drives were so fast that no receivers really piled up stats.  Ewers only had 19 completions.  That means every 4th pass was a touchdown.

Yeah, my bad.

Weird game for # of WR receptions:  Bond (3), Golden (3), Bolden (2), Wingo (1), and Moore (2) who also dropped 2 passes

We went through this in the Bama/LSU game thread but bottom line, with the way the tie breakers are set up we currently control our own destiny.

If Texas, LSU, and Tennessee all win out and end up with one loss each, tie breakers would put Texas vs LSU in the CCG

You only saw marginal improvement? Were you fucking high?

It was his best perfomance since Michigan. He has elite skill talent and Sarkisian can scheme them into matchup wins. He made just enough throws down the middle and outside the hash to keep the LOS scrimmage throws open. He missed Moore twice on the same drive and both would have been TDs. Moore dropped another TD, but Texas scored 2 plays later. I really liked the use of the angle route from Blue against the LBs. We need to see more of that moving forward.

Yea it’s not 50% the QBs fault when it goes through your hands, hits you in the chest, and you still don’t secure it. Big deal he had to slow down a little. 80/20 Moores fault there.

48 minutes ago, Huckleberry said:

The drop is 100% on Moore. Ewers's inaccurate throw could be blamed for a non-touchdown because Moore had to slow down but the lack of a long completion is 100% Moore.

Says two guys that have never had to catch a ball 5 yards behind them while avoiding the defender and going from 20 MPH to 5 MPH. If Ewers could throw WRs open down the field, Moore would have had a walk-in TD.

But that's not what happened during that play. He had to slow down slightly, was still wide open, and just dropped the pass. It happens. But it was on him.

If he didn’t skillet hands it again, maybe? It was a shit ass drop and Moore would probably say the same.

We talking about the dropped pass that Moore tried to catch with the inside of his elbows?

So it's a weird vibe here and obviously ticket prices reflected a weird vibe and going to tailgate late and seeing the exiying fans it was a weird vibe.

Something is off when people aren't excited about a complete blowout win against Florida at home where we got to see the depth. It was weird, I've been to and around a few blowout wins and it is always more rowdy than this. We drank all day in town at multiple bars with tons of horns still in gear there. Very subdued and no one talking much about the game or how fun it was etc. Didn't see bro high fives, hear a single Texas Fight or have anyone thrown the horns up at me with a smile. All really normal things after a BLOWOUT of a team at home.

Today was a great fucking day and I was so excited all day, probably annoyingly so around my family who knew I missed tailgate to do all this wedding stuff. I was stoked. I threw the horns up and asked about the win and flashed smiles to anyone with burnt orange on.

Make the win feel good tomorrow if you didn't today for some reason.

Legitimately not trying to CR at all, but can almost guarantee it was the election. People are still downloading one way or the other.

How well did Florida fans travel game?

Just got home and catching up so not sure if this has had an answer, but holy shit Gator was there in force.  Next to maybe BYU, never see so many visiting fans as DKR.  May have just been that their blue really stood out, but they were everywhere.  The score may have helped, but all were very cool that I talked with.

It was weird how empty my section (130) was for the game. I think a lot of people sold their tickets the game. I didn’t recognize any of the people sitting around me.

My son and I had the exact same conversation about the Florida fan numbers. BYU is the only one that compares.

They showed up and were good folks.

I’m wondering how much of that is the fact that they knew coming in they’d lose. Introspectively, I’m much more cordial when I know there’s going to a negative outcome that I can’t control and I try to find other ways to enjoy myself/be grateful.

However, it’s also very possible Florida fans are generally fantastic.

I don’t have the experience with Florida to know the answer to either of the above. However, the few UF alums I know are intelligent and pretty rational folks.

Hopefully UGA craters now that they’ve lost again, because I think Texas has great chance to beat Tennessee for the title. However, expecting Tennessee to beat both UGA and Vandy on the road is not realistic to me.

At this point, just keep winning and let the rest play out.

I want UGA again. Just like Bama, you have to beat the king to become king.

Also, there's 0% chance the offense shits down their leg that bad again.

I just want Kirby and UGA to fail haha. I’d rather they implode as a program than get the chance to beat them in a rematch.
